Hey, I really like the Valstrax and its concept so I really appreciate that you showcased how to make its trait work. I tried to do the cera cediment set and realized you could get the exact same skills with the Rathalos Helm X that gives you way more armor than the Cap and is achievable earlier if you didn't finish G4 rank yet to access the hyper rathalos!

I've found good success using Dragonheart against Alatreon before, since it feels like the best way to resist against all its various elemental attacks. I've never tried it with Resuscitate before but that does sound very strong, so I'll definitely check that out too!
I've been running Dragonheart along with Crit Draw, Crit Boost and Resuscitate on Adept GS and it's just killer. The set is so good I managed to solo an EX Boltreaver Astalos last night. It took plenty of attempts, but man it was satisfying. Dragonheart is amazing.
G rank valstrax armor gives you resuscitate, atk up +2 and dragon heart (also distance runner), and with his own weapons you have also alot of white sharpness and 300 raw and dragon damage that doesn't get away. I just added sharpness (the skill that halves the sharpness reduced when attacking) and that few jwls needed to get atk up +3, and with valor DB and wolf's maw III you get crazy damage
Minor Correction, but Dragonheart doesn't affect Gunlance shells at all since their damage is fixed and can only be increased by Artillery or Felyne Bombardier. Shells also deal a small amount of fire damage but I'm not sure if that gets negated by the Dragonblight or not. Regardless, the actual raw damage on your weapon doesn't matter.
In my opinion this is a wonderful skill if you want to forget about critical hits and create a full attack stacking set (MH4U style), something like Dragonheart, Resuscitate, Challenger+2, Attack Up S/M and Razor Sharp. I know this game's meta is all about the crits, but there are some monsters with not very accesible weakspots (specially some deviants like Redhelm, Snowbaron and Crystalbeard). Weakness Exploit can't be used efficiently against them and so the aforementioned set could work pretty nicely. Sure, you can also try to mix it with Weakness Exploit or even Crit boost, like you did in some of the sets showed in the video. I would say the allround best choice would be Dragonheart, Resuscitate, Weakness Exploit, Crit Boost and Razor Sharp. However, that set requires at least a Tenderizer+4, Sharpness+4 OOO charm, wich most players will never obtain.
Not the rarest thing in the world, just keep doing charm farms. I didn't do any charm farms, just normal hunting (till 500 hours, lol) and have like 30+ ooo charms with stuff like 7 sharpness, 7 protection 7 thunder attack, all kinds of stuff. If you charm farm, you could get some good stuff pretty quick

Herny reccomends weapons like GS, Hammer, etc because they are slow and so they use raw attack as their main source of damage. However, pretty much every weapon class can make good use of this skill with the propper gear, since Raw attack is always going to be crutial. Maybe Dual blades and SnS would be the least optimal, as with them you normally want to prioritize Elemental/Status damage.
I am using the sharpness + 6 ooo charm CB set. But my set has Attack up S + critical eye +2 over Attack up M. Just swap Rathalos Cap for Hayabusa to get rid of the negative affinity ;) With better charms like Sharpness +7 ooo you can also Swap Critical eye +2 for Sharpness +1 and get purple sharpness.
My current long sword setup on MHGU is Weakness exploit Challenger +2 Crit up Dragon Spirit HA: Sakura blade Got lucky with a tenderizer +7 000 charm so I was able to throw Dragon blight into the mix and with 800+ defence on this build I can tank and balance my health at 2/3rds with Valor form.
I was thinking this. You could use a talisman and gems to get frenzy res, along with chaotic gore weapons and frenzy fever. That gives you a good bit of affinity and crits with that much raw will hurt. Use the SnS with chaos oil and affinity oil.. Fun stuff.

using neset with a guts 5 crisis 4 3 slot charm i managed to get get guts, crisis, dragonheart, weakness exploit, and crit boost with the sedition severer cb. its now my go to set for boltreaver

Bitter Affinity is only worth using with rusted/worn weapons, and even then they are all terrible besides the Rusted bow. Otherwise you are better of using the typical affinity boosting skills like Weakness Exploit, Repeat Offender, etc.

Quite frankly the full Val X set works kinda nicely bc it gives you both wanted skills as well as an additional Atk L. But i see what you mean by that. I guess the Meset weapons are not going to beneficial there. what do you think about the new village weapons of the airship, the ones with 300 Raw and nature purple. I guedd they fit nicely with it since they all have 3 slots no element 300 raw what is less then mantis but still ok as well as nature full sharpness so you dont need to stack sharpness+2
Dragonheart is actually quite meta for many weapons in base Rise. We'll see if it stays that way in Sunbreak. Here's how it works at each level, which depends on how many pieces of Valstrax armor you have on: LV1 - You get Dragonblight when your health drops to 50% of max or lower, but your elemental resistances increase to 30, regardless of what they were before. LV2 - Your elemental resistances increase to 50 when the skill activates. LV3 - Skill now activates at 70% HP. LV4 - Your Attack also increases by 5% when skill activates. LV5 - Skill activates at 80% HP and your attack increases by 10%. If you're going to use Dragonheart seriously, you want to use LV4 or 5, then keep your HP around 70 or 80%. But a lot of DPS builds in base Rise just use the Valstrax Braces for Weakness Exploit LV2 and LV2 decoration slot.
This proves my theory that Dragon as an element in MH is a steroid for whoever made it, and an elemental inhibitor vs anything you use it on. This can be seen with elderseal, dragonheart, and just regular dragonblight.
yea its hard to communicate with your team when there is no frickin voice chat in gu or if they aren't an english speaker, also getting healed out of it does't really matter that much since its easy to get the damage back

The XR armor pieces are pretty much made for mix sets. They have 6, 7, or 8 points in a certain skill.

Switch Axe theoretically benefits from it a lot too, since both Power Phial and Demon Riot are percentage buffs as well.

5:21 dragonblight only affects elemental weapons, status weapon (sleep, para, poison) aren't affected by it so you can run status weapons with this.
