I'm not an EQ expert. But after testing tones for so long, and seeing him suddenly raise that one mid-right screeching frequency that I dread, I suddenly yell "WHAT".
Im also a low amount of mids guy. And I immediately liked how you put a eq at the end. Someone showed me to leave the mids around 5 on your amp and scoop them w EQ in the effects loop basically the idea is that in the amps preamp you want those mids cause they effect how the rest of the frequencies get boosted and make for a more dynamic and huge sound. Not sure if that works in the computer world , but seems like they would. I definitely suggest trying it it blew my mind how much it changed the sound.
Your on the right track there, I think. Still on my investigation for the EQ world. Got this from a friend about this, and its for the Katana. But I think this might be worth testing for sims to. I'll just pass the dialog :) "I know you have always insisted on adding a 5Khz high cut for a better tube tone and to remove some digital harshness. So my question is, do you do that for every patch you make? and if so would you recommend just adding this cut to the system global EQ section after the amp. Hi! I don't do it for every Patch. I never use the global EQ. Some tones like Fender, Marshall and Boutique Amps have a cut around 6Khz. They need to breed a bit more on the high end. What I do is check the position of the eq, amp in or out because it makes a huge difference. Then if there's too much fizziness I remove it with the slide eq around 16K or 8K."
Loved this one, the 21min flew by. I can't believe you didn't do the THALL tone, and the iconic ambient/clean delay tone that Tesseract, Fellsilent, and Vildhjarta use. Please do make a 2hr video on this, I'm about sold on bias fx2!
I discovered your channel yesterday with a video in which you have that strong Slavic accent. I indeed thought that it was your normal way of speaking. Interesting stuff anyway.
Really chill video, loved grabbing a snack and just watching through it all, you got a really natural live commentary. Only thing I wish was different (and this goes for most of your non-cover vids c;) is to not have the Labyrinth backing track playing in the background at all times when you're doing something. Was a bit distracting to hear that song in the background while trying to listen to the clean and ambient tones edit: grammar stuff
My how far this type of product has come. I can remember buying a didgitech multi effect pedal, maybe an early RP50 or so. Back then the number of LEDs on it were used as a selling point. Software was around that was just starting to try and offer what BIAS FX and similar stuff does but I never knew anyone who used it. Even recording artists and bands I knew would rather lug peddle boards the size of a car from gig to studio and back than even use my digitech or any "computer" to record. Now Nik and can sound like 10 different bands in less than 3 minutes with a few clicks of a mouse.
Thoroughly enjoy the music tutorials. I hope you enjoy educating as much as you do the other kinds of creative videos you do cuz this could be the entire channel from now on and I wouldnt mind tbh
Noticed he didn’t use the noise gate at the bottom of bias Fx. A lot of people don’t but I find that it cuts out a lot of noise and sometimes do not need an additional noise gate in my chain. Also, some of the metal amps cause the output to clip. If you turn it down, the signal becomes clearer and less broken up.
was hoping youd cover more metal genres.. you should make a video covering how to get -thrash metal -black metal -old school death metal -hardcore punk -etc tones
So many more options this time around, that can sometimes be my downfall with over tinkering. However the more I mess around the easier it always gets with digital modelers, nothing will ever be as tedious as tone crafting on an old line 6 pod lol. The latency seems amazing! edit: A lot of people will go to download tones, and find that they sound terrible compared to the sound the creator got. This is where I think the guitar matching feature will shine, being able to match to the guitar the tone was crafted on should clear a lot of that up. "Why doesn't my single coil strat sound like a chunky emg solid body?" Well here ya go kids.
The final Ambient clean gave me so many Of Mice and Men's "The Calm" vibes in all the best ways. Also, I just want to appreciate that Delude Reissue they did. Adding those four songs defined Of Mice & Men as a band, imo. It had heavy, ambient, emotional, angry, all of it. In four songs. And they all flowed perfectly and all lyrically were the same story... It was absolutely fantastic.

Hey man love your videos. I just found you recently while I was off school for about 4 weeks with severe anxiety issues but I started watching you that helped me get through the day and I really loved your stuff and now want to learn guitar. Also as a suggestion the song Erebus by Aversions Crown has some wicked guitar sound and I think you’d cover it really well. Keep up the good work.

A see a lot of buttons but I don't know what I am doing I only try to find the tone by hear but some times is frustrating...!!! 😔

Loving that Hellraiser. I just bought a ESP EC1000 which is super sweet and costs more than a Hellraiser, at least the non-floyd rose version, and I still want to get a Hellraiser.
What interface / hardware are you using to get this tone? I use Bias FX2 as well and it sounds like complete shit when I match your settings. I am using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for an interface with no additional hardware. Monitors are an M-audio bx5a with a BX10 sub.
I found the cabs that come in Bias fx2 are also horrible for high gain settings I now run LePou cab as an IR loader and some free IR’s and turn the Bias FX cabs off. I’m getting some great tones now.
Do you use an audio interface with UAD DSP to hear bias in real time without latency? Mainly trying to hear my plugins in real time and not post recording.
Hans-Loïc Karrer Do you know if you have to have an interface with UAD DSP in order to monitor the plugins or Is the monitoring capability based on which DAW you have?
I love your videos and this one was really refreshing. Just one suggestion. If you try the tones, you can maybe mute the music in the background so we can hear more of the tone. Keep on going bro!
Still using Bias 1 vst with studio 1. And paired with ownhammer IRs this thing sounds real good. And realy close to many modern metal/djent bands. I know people will argue but i would say properly setuped Bias sounds on pair with axe fx. Or atleast very close. One more thing i want to clarify. It is hard to achieve any modern tones without those ownhammer irs. Dont get me wrong stock sounds is good but not enough. After listening to Bias 2 djent attemp i have to say they improved stock tones. This new head sounds better than old stock ones. And overall tone is much closer but still irs would do better.
Question: 1) What is the difference between Bias FX II and Bias Amp 2? , 2) if the program does have it's cabs, how can i replace them with My personal IR?

Him boosting 4k didn't help as well lol. But yeah, once people get more into guitar tone they realise Bias stuff actually isn't good. Fine if you just use it to practice with etc but to mix with? No thanks.
*Boom, Tone*
Dude how come did you edit a post that simple ? 😂
Wich version do you use for this video? (standard, pro or elite?)
I
Is that the standard version ?
Nik Nocturnal where u locking nut guitar?
Step 1 - All the gain
Step 2 - No mids
Step 3 - Treble at 11
Step 4 - Volume at 13
Step 5 - More gain
Enjoy your Slayer tone.
You forgot gain
You forgot the metalzone going through clean channel in front of the amp
But you won't be haired that way
Any noise gate?
SLLLLLLAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! NO MIDS!! METALZONE!!
