I really love these designs. They are each unique but all "fit" in the same fictional universe and match their purpose.
One of the best parts of my media life. This show enthralled me. Absolutely breathtaking.
Would love to see that final cylon base at the end of the series and its size comparison.
These 3D models are amazing. Imagine if you attached textures and scripts to them, and ported them to something like Empire at War or Sins of a Solar Empire.
You should probably also include the Demetrius ....the sewage processing ship that was converted into a scout carrier.....it had 5 vipers and a raptor
I always loved the design of the classic battle stars and Cylon base ships.
Yeah! I agree! I was not a fan of the revamp version at all. I preferred the original concept and ship designs.
@@xenofett7008
The re-imagined Cylon basestars just looked like someone glued two Federation com-badges together.
I do like the new basestar design, but after this video, I'm a bit dissappointed at the size.
Had to look up Battlestar Prometheus, had never seen or heard of it before.
Me to, I don't believe it's canon. I think it's fan made
The class your looking for is the Nova Class, its semi canon in the same way Star Trek has Beta Canon from Star Trek Online. Many of the details from the "Battlestar Prometheus" stories have the personal blessing of Richard Hatch who played Apollo in the original BSG:1978 and Tom Zarek in the new timeline and has worked with the main Writer to make sure the ability to tell a new story doesn't already go against pre existing canon.
Anyone else think the background music was an instrumental version of "Stevie Nicks - Edge of Seventeen" at first?
I did!
Just a small correction, it's "Cylons" not "Cyclons"
@@jrvasquez CYLENCE!
No "cylons:, but "cyclowns" :D
I don't know, Cyclonian Empire sounds kinda snazzy.
Cyclones?
It's toasters
what about the cylon resurrection ship and colony?
Mind boggling enormous... like... making the frakin’ galactica look like a stunted dog.
the resurrection ship is about the same size as a botanical cruiser. or valkyrie class battlestar. the colony like the resurrection hub is a station not a ships so doesn't qualify for the list
The Colony is 30 km width
@@briansouthparkstudio1357 But a lot of other lists like this they do include stations when they say ships
Also need the original Galactica.
*This is actually a very interesting topic*
These videos are so relaxing and informative
Cool, this puts things into perspective!
I love these videos
Really cool! Puts things into perspective.
did you really include the Prometheus but not the Valkyrie?
The Valkyrie is crap compared even to the original battle star Galactica. its insignificant
@@RobtheStampede yip also the Valkyrie is cannon the Prometheus isn't
Yea, I also can't see the Berserk, Viper Mk VII and III, original cylons Raider, Blood & Chrome Basestar, the Osiris...
Erik
Viper mkII is there but MkI isn’t
Is the Valkyrie the one with 4 launch pods? (tandem on each side) Sorry I can't remember...
I recently watched some episodes lastnite. One particular spacecraft caught my eye though, it was among others but clearly distinctable by the hammerhead design used in the 1st Star Wars installment. I was like, WHOOOOAAA👀👍, then the camera zoomed in closer but that was it..
Aghhhhh, bummer. All good, the show is packed with plenty action. Them cylons are a tricky bunch of one-eyed Mo-fo's.
they have to find an alternative story line for this series. Always thought it would have been cool if Pegasus did an opposite of BSG and inhabited a planet but kept their tech. and we go back 100 yrs after
Stefano Aguila I think there is a fan story where a portion of the Colonial Fleet survived and started settling on a world, and continued the 12 colonies while checking on Earth periodically.
That would make a bad ass show!
@@tlsrob6772 Battlestar Prometheus
I was expecting Fleetwood Mac when the music started.
Sings a song sounds like she's singin'....
or 'Eye of the Tiger'?
Good call!
Thank you, Papa Montoya!
Doh! I was hopping that the Colony would have been in there.
Awesome video, I'd have loved to see some "real world" comparisons.. like throw there a 747 or something...
There was a real world manny man thrown in there, next to the viper.
I always liked the design of these ships because they feel like crap that real people would actually build.
Once...maybe. These things wouldn't work, no matter the tech. We didn't build sailing ships the way we did because it "felt right" or because they "looked cool". That's how sailing fucking works. Space also works a certain way. We'll build whatever works, in the end.
Raptor is way too small.
Cloud nine isn't even close to correct, in the show the garden is huge, but according to this it's about 150 meters!
A lot of the ships were incorrectly sized.
how does it happened that in russian translation "Cloud Nine" became "Seven Sky" (in reverse translation to english)
Huh? Cloud 9 is clearly shown as measuring 450 m, not 150 m. And the Raptor size is accurate - look at pictures of it from the show, assume the pilots are about 1.80 m, then compare.
@@ga9or10nechuebaba The joys of Google translate doesn't correctly translate things
@@kfeltenberger that's right the pegasus is about 200 meters longer then said in the vid and the new cylon basestar is may bigger on here it really is sure their bigger then galactica but not by that much and their small then the pegasus ( their mean to be 1550 small then the older basestars)
Nicely done! how about one which includes the Cylon Colony and Ragnar Anchorage?
Valkyrie?
Ohh, forgot to mention if it was in that same episode, Starbuck somehow made it inside a downed Cylon fighter craft to discover it's inner hull being made of a some fleshy substance. I only mention briefly in detail that episode as if anyone would know what episode that was. Forgot to mention,
Starbuck made it back before getting blown to ashes by Apollo only in part by drawing STAR BUCK underneath the wingspan of the Cylon fightercraft.
love the fact that PROMETHIUS was included in this!!!!!!!!!!!
with the Prometheus, it has a flat head instead of the raised head and also has 4 larger engines instead of the 8 engines
Ah! You are familiar with the CanisD Prometheus. Thats the best fan made Battlestar. He incorporated the original battlestar into that design
Raptor seems too small, if you look inside you see 2 ppl cockpit with enough space on the back for at list 2 more
Do a size comparison for the expanse
Obrigado por especificar as medidas em metros.
even if it WAS built by "Saggitarian Spaceways" that is the OLYMPIC CARRIER, one of the most important ships to be destroyed on the show...
Like the 3D models
Badass! Could someone get measurements on "The Colony"?
Prometheus: Same as the Galactica, but like… way bigger, man!
Top tier world building, that is.
“Cyclon?!” Are the Cylons suddenly taking up cycling?
Amazing work 👍
Where did battle star promithyus come from?
I wondered same, nothing on youtube about it
It’s FanFiction drawn by David “CanisD” Briedis
PLEASE do one on the spaceships from the nintendo game "Infinite Space" there are around 150 ships (from what i'm aware of) and in the ship database they give all the ships length, width and height.
Wow, and I thought Pegasus was big!
In 1978, Glen Larson did an interview to describe his new movie "Battlestar Galactica". When asked how long is the Galactica, he replied "about 2 miles long". Strange that the 2004 reboot cut the size by more than half.....
You can do the Alien ships conparison
Some battlestar Galactica's at the bottom of Tokyo bay harbour.. They're hermetically sealed ..remove the barnacles and debris..you're good..mammy gets her upgrade you're galactically operational
You got the Remake Cylon basestar size wrong.
Lee Stringer, one of the effect artist for the 2004 series apparently posted the sizes a long time ago
Basestar
Width: 1030.69m
Length: 856.1m (two arm side) + 1039.87m (single arm side)
Height: 132.586m (Each Piece), 265.172m Total
If I'm not mistaken that sounds incorrect. The basestars are shown to be larger than Galactica but smaller than pegasus on screen.
Really puts into perspective why the Cylons NEEDED to use subterfuge to win the war against the Colonials. The Galactica is small compared to a Basestar yet could hold off several of them at once.
Not same type and strategy. Cylons strategies are based on their resurrection technology. New cylons baseship are aircraft carriers which contains many many raiders because their raiders can resurrect.
Battlestars are more like armored battle cruiser.
In a direct fight probably would have been an endless fight
@@MrAlkylation When Pegasus joined the cast they were able to directly confront and defeat an entire fleet of Basestars. If the Cylons had tried to actually fight the full strength Colonial Fleet they would have lost.
@@CdrChaos Yes but this is what I said. They are virtually immortals and more you kill them and more they learn and become strong. This is their strategy. They said it several times in the show.
In the first war they had a strategy similar to humans and the war was endless and just stopped because they decided to leave (actually because final five made a deal with them).
Otherwise all cylons technologies are far higher than humans.
Could use an update with more of the Colonial ships
Still got Valkyrie, Berserker, Orion ships
And also I think Prometheus was not the class, I heard it was Titan but could be wrong
Esta de puta madre estas comparaciones... enhorabuena. Mola mazo.
Suscrito.
Cool little video, but I thought a “Battlestar” was a ship class? Are there different sizes?
They were a ship "type" if you want to think about it like that so came in different sizes but were all hybrid battleship/carriers, class just refers to an iteration of the "type" so Galactica was a Jupiter class and Pegasus was a Mercury Class Battlestar.
Wow.
The celestra looks a lot like the rebel space ship from star wars
Is there a way to download the models?
Did you ever do the original Battlestar Galactica too?
I remember thinking when I saw the garden ship in original BSG "They copied that from the movie 'Silent Running'."
They probably did use the model and sets to save money.
Kind of how Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers shared footage
Damn looks like Battlestar Prometheus was a super Battlestar. It looks like it would be the flagship but I believe that was the Atlantia.
This Battlestar Prometheus is fanon. It's never mentioned in the show. The canon battlestar Prometheus was a one of the first jupiter classes in the first cylon war.
I've liked this for some time, but have you considered doing either an update or a second one to show the ships of the Battlestar Galactica Deadlock game?
Hello, there are or were the fighting stars Galactica. How big was it?
Two questions. Where's the "Olympic Carrier", and what's a "cyclon"?
falto la estacion de abastimiento que estaba en una nebulosa y el astillero scorpion
where do you get these models?
Was colonial I in there? If so missed it
Where are the Ships from Blood & Chrome? Or from Deadlock?
The Kodiak is missing...comes from C&C Tiberian Sun. And was seen on BSG
Colonial One seems to be to small
colonial One could land inside Galactica, so it had to be small enough to do it. I think its size is correcy
What, no Valkyrie class Battlestar?
You forgot the Viper Mk VII, the Cylon Raider (old and new), the Cylon Heavy Raider, and the Cylon Resurrection Ship
mk vii is the same as the mk ii. but the old first war raider is missing and the heavy is missing along side the resurrection ship
He's didn't put the battlestar valkyre in either
or demetrius
Some of the old (1978) and some of the new (2002). 👍
Yeeeeeeet
Could you please do "Transformers (Michael Bay Movies) Size Comparison"
should update this with BSG Deadlock.
@lad no just put all BSG ships.
@lad ya this is about scale not time frame
And yet the original Battlestar Galactica was longer than anything in this video.
As long as the Spaceball One? The opening sequence showing the ship passing by takes over *one hundred seconds* !
pegasus was 21meters of 1.8 km
The original battlestar galactica wasn't even 2 kilometers
He did not include the Original series Battlestar, only the Sci-Fi channel reboot design.
There is this small ship of like 8 meter and then BOOM. 200 METER BIG SHIP.
Can you imagine the amount of damage the Prometheus can do to Cylon base ships?
I can imagine the amount of damage that a Superdestroyer from Star Wars can do to 50 Prometheus ships
None...because Prometheus was obliterated in the opening salvo, like most of the others.
@@dvrchweesse1frfdozemkaanai594 Not much, because they can only point 25% of their guns, at best, at it at any one time. The key to taking on a single SSD is to all bunch up in one area, so it can't fire hardly any of its weapons. Then focus-fire the hangar until you cut the ship in half. Take maybe 20 minutes, tops, and out of 50 ships, you might lose 10 or 20.
@@dvrchweesse1frfdozemkaanai594 A battleship is only as good as its commander. History has proven that.
Where the hell was Promethius when we needed her?
ridley scott.
Cyclons?
The Galactica is a little over 1100 meters long, not 1400 (it's that the Pegasus is significantly larger in their side-by-side shots).
And I'm surprised you used Sagitarrian Spaceways instead of the Olympic Carrier (same ship types, one's just more recognizable by name).
Nah, the scale has been pretty consistently set at 4720 to 4740 feet, @Mobius 1 . The Pegasus appears over a mile long, as a result, and perhaps close to 1900 meters. It may be smaller, but it's hard to get Galactica herself down below 1.4 km, so far.
If you could do one for all the ships in Deadlock that'd be great.
Flattop look like have 2 deck guns on front :D
Where is Cylon's 30 km width The Colony?
Battlestar Prometheus? Where was that from?
Its a fan fic thats really good. But the Prometheus for that is a better design than the model in the video even though i like it
I do believe that the size of 2003 Galactica Is larger than your video.
The Galactica is actually correct. There are several ships sized incorrectly though.
Is the botanical ship a shoutout to Silent Running?
Dumb question but is a Battlestar more like a Battleship or an aircraft carrier.?
Cause if its like an aircraft carrier, what happened to its cruisers and destroyer escort. I ve watched both the new and old show. Loved them both but what happened to Galactica destroyer escorts?
Funny that. I thought the Pegasus was smaller than the Galactica.
Vinland,it's me didou
Alahna FAVEREAUX i understand....
Attila died on the sketch, but not on da youtube
Alahna FAVEREAUX weeeeee! VINLAND IS EVERYWHERE,just say him and he will appear here :)
CYCLON????? FRACK THIS!
The Cylon Baseship from Blood & Chrome is not here, nor is the Guardian Baseship.
"Cyclons"
XDD
You are missing Warstar Andraste bro
Ragnarok station adn the colony?
For some reason I always thought that the Galactica was the bigger Battlestar.
No it was an old ship they wanted to make a museum
It was from the original war. It was a rushed designed and by default was smaller to speed its construction.
But what about huge cylon ship at the end of 4th season? It's dimensions are probably at least 200 kilometers in length.
no Demitrius?
You kinda missed a few ships tgere... MKI & MKVII Vipers, original Galactica and Cylon Raider, Colonial Shuttles
I find the sizes of some ships not quite correct. Like 8m for a viper. It feels to small for a fighter. A f16 for example is already 13m and its not more then a cockpit and a engine.
what about the battlestar valkyrie?
No Demetrius?
I thought the newer Cylon attack vessels were called "Base Ships" not "Base Stars". They were Base Stars in the original 1978 series.
On both the original and remake, they were referred to as basestars (or base stars) and baseships (or base ships) interchangeably.
@@jasonthewatchmansson8873 I don't ever remember that at all.
I'll have to go back and revisit them.
You don't happen to have any links to them saying that, by any chance?
Because now that's going to bug me.
@@protorhinocerator142 Almost any episode with the Cylons will have a reference to "base ships." But here's a clip of Baltar in "Living Legend Part 1" referring to them at 2:05. ua-cam.com/video/UgCdS2vWYzk/v-deo.html
