Whatever decision to re-edit the dialogue making reference to the cloud's size certainly didn't come from Roddenberry since he died in 1991.

It should have been big enough to hold several ships as big as the Enterprise D and E in it with plenty of wiggle room to boot! The model there looked hardly big enough to hold only a few large ships but we have seen the inside of it on numerous occasions and know how big it actually is and there is a lot of room inside of it, even with docking several star ships.

Ever notice how the "Borg Sphere" (Star Trek) and the "Death Star" (Star Wars) look very similar? not entirely the same, but, "A long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away" vs Another quadrant where the Borg have harnessed spatial rifts to travel all to almost all parts of the Galaxy, managed to time travel and fail and crossed other dimensions/ planes of existence (Fluidic Space: Species 8472).
if Star Wars and Star Trek ever wanted to write a story of how the Empire or the Republic created nano probes to create an adaptable soldier, because Clones and Drones were failing and they needed something adaptable... then flash forward 300 years and the Cybernetic soldiers turn on their "Masters" (Similar to the Cylon Plot from BSG) it would be a worth while curiosity.

I agree. Look at that Romulan ship from TNG - more than a kilometer long! I never understood ships as big as the TNG Enterprise. Realistically, they'd be too expensive to build (certainly for any quantity), because they consume way too much in terms of materials and resources. Just putting an atmosphere inside one of those things would be a challenge. I always found the smaller ships of TOS much more believable.

But Robert Wise didn't write the story. _Gene Roddenberry_ did; and his novel is based on the storyline written by Alan Dean Foster, both of which reference the cloud as 82AU wide. I doubt either one authorized the dialogue to be edited, especially when you consider that Roddenberry died in 1991, long before the first director's cut appeared (c1999).

A very nice list sir. Good job on making it.
A few corrections if you will: the Galor class is presented with the rear first in this video (its front section is the semicircle part); "sovereign" is spelled with a S; the Andromeda Ascendant is not from Star Trek i'm sure; the romulan ship presented as the D'deridex class is actually the Kerchon class (the D'deridex is the classic Warbird); The Dyson Sphere is not technically a ship, it is an artificial planetoid.
Some iconic ships that should have made it on the list: Romulan D'deridex (TNG Warbird); Klingon D-7, Vor'cha, Negh'var; Dominion Heavy Cruiser.
Thank you for making this :)
