The card is like a Turf War, where you basically fill a grid in your colors but with cards representing different shapes. As with everything else in the game, you start at Level 4.
Great video , the reviewers I've seen write this off as "could have been DLC " baffle me the whole game as been re worked and it shows I don't know if they are clickbaiting or maybe don't understand gaming as a whole but it in the future I will be avoiding their content This is a fantastic video not only detailing the game but the situation it is in , thank you .
I think you are misconstruing valid criticism. It’s been 5 years. People expect things to be improved in the next game. It was. People were also naturally expecting a new game mode like salmon run was in 2. They didn’t get that. Almost all the improvements in 3 could have been downloadable content - that’s true. I love 3. I love the improvements. But Nintendo played it safe and didn’t include any major changes. I think it’s you who doesn’t quite understand how game reviewing works. They can’t ignore the fact that there are no new major changes. When 4 arrives, I can guarantee that Nintendo will include a major change in the gameplay or game mode, like salmon run was. That’s the difference.
Ok so, I've never played a Splatoon game, I'm really intrigued by this one, how much can you recommend this? How is it in content, what should I expect from multiplayer (Which looks very different from other shooters I've played)
The content is mainly multiplayer focused. Yes, there is a story mode, and a decent one at that, but most of your time would be spent playing multiplayer. Each weapons greatly changes gameplay so it doesn't really get repetitive, as well as ranked modes are always available. From multiplayer you can expect really fast-paced gameplay. You're on a permanent stage of quick-thinking and staying on your toes is key. At first it would be difficult, but once you get a hang of it and you find *the* weapon that clicks for you, you're set. And believe me, everyone finds a weapon that clicks
The only thing I really wanted was the ability to play against bots. As someone who is terrible at the game I was really hoping for a mode where I could play against the cpu. Everyone is just so good at the game that it makes it hard for me to have much fun. I know it’s a me problem and we have salmon run for over but I would’ve loved playing turf war against bots to maybe practice in a gentler environment.
The game is so good but I’m not sure if it’s just my internet, but it shouldn’t be because it runs up to 700mbps, I always get connection errors. Either can’t get into a game or get kicked half way through causing me to lose my anarchy battles and lower my rank. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. I play Australian servers by the way, anyone let me know if they have the same problem
@@PrettyINCs It could make sense since shifty stations exists in splat2 and their litteraly just maps built with all the same textures and made to explore gimmiks. Agree with your sentiments around a sequel being the previous game but vastly improved. And that’s what it sounds and looks like Splatoon 3 is. I think people are just complaining about “Splatoon 2.5” to justify why they’re not gonna spend the money on the new game
2:13 What new modes? Splatoon 2 added more content in comparison to Splatoon 1 than this game does from 2. This game at its current state is a more polished Splatoon 2, only with less content at the moment.
From what I've see of other say and play from Splat 3, it's solid. I'm still a little busy and a little late to Splat 2 so I'm still enjoying that game for the meantime.
I was kind of interested in playing Splatoon 2, but never got around to it. I’m actually very interested in 3, and I can’t even really pinpoint why. I think the colors look more vibrant for one thing

Great content bro. It’s nice to see someone who appreciates the game and acknowledges the fact that everything that’s been changed/ added is well worth a sequel rather than payed dlc. Keep up the great work.
I played the splatoon 2s story mode very rarely, took me a year to beat cause of how rarely I played It because, it just was a tutorial. But with 3, I could play that crap for hours Deffinitly a worthy sequel to the franchise.

If you agree that Overwatch 2 is a DLC/expansion, then Splatoon 3 is DLC/Expansion and not a sequel. I don't think Nintendo has done enough for Splatoon 3 to make it feel like a brand new game. When I look at videos and reviews of the game, I seriously have no idea whether I am looking at 2 or 3. Someone could easily show me gameplay footage of 2 and claim it is from 3 and I would believe it.

I actually understand the DLC argument. I've spent a lot of time in S2 and it's still so similar at the end of the day. Same issue with CoD or sports games etc. That being said, this is the absolute best one yet. Everything is tighter, more realized vision with things like the lobby and customization and things, better campaign, and DAMN it feels good to have a game with so much stuff and it doesn't have a battle pass. And it is just way more beautiful. I love it. But as someone who has owned all three entries now I agree with the sentiment that for a third installment there should have been something more innovative. I guess that's it, the game feels more like it's based around improvement than innovation and most people probably want the latter for a new game in a series. But again, I love this game so no real complaints
I think the issue with this argument is that if you innovate a games core mechanics, its identity changes. It would be something completely different. And especially with a multiplayer game, this would divide the playerbase.
From what I'm seeing it's "mostly" quality of life improvements that have been done. Sure there's a new campaign. Not sure how many new maps or weapons. Salmon run is always available. New locker thingy. Is there anything else? To me personally, that's not what I expect for a 60$ game. Is there anything content wise that I've missed? Because it seems like 80% of the new stuff are mostly system changes. Unless there's something I've missed of course.
I disconnect WAY too often. I have great internet, so I know it’s not on me. The game punishes us for its own failures. I shouldn’t be locked out of playing online because of their server issues.
I still think it could have been DLC or changed through updates. Most of the games I play “rework” things through patches, not through sequel’s. There’s just not enough new here for it to really feel like a sequel to me. Even after nitpicking almost every difference between 2 and 3, I still feel the same way. I really wish I didn’t though
No it couldn’t. 2 would have to have a complete overhaul to be like 3. He’ll then removal of ink armor and maps makes weapons like snipers actually viable
I feel a lot of people dunking on the game just play multiplayer - and only Turf War or Salmon Run. In that sense, I can see why some people feel it’s ‘the same’ as Splatoon 2. Also the fact that the game is clearly pushing the Switch to its limits, and the Switch itself is starting to show its ‘age’. But 3 has a great single player campaign, and is a lot more optimized than 2…the question is, is that worth $50 to $60 at launch?
this game Def had problems with balance. why am I fighting against people with gear and perks that I don't.. I have basic gun and 0 perks vs people with banners tip guns and perks. it really needs balance. this has always been an issue
The whole "DLC" drama is beyond me. The second one is 5 years old, a sequel is more than welcome, and the game is great, the single player mode is way better than in the second installment also
I picked up both 2 and 3 yesterday. I am slowly figuring out both games. I just find climbing walls to be the hardest thing so far. I am playing on a Switch OLED.
6:28 I have to strongly disagree with that... The multiplayer is just the same as it was since the past 2 games it's lacking in game mode content By the time you reach level 4 your already playing Salmon run non stop due to that you can actually play that mode whenever you want That and the Story is longer and better But the multiplayer will forever be completely lackluster
It’s a sequel in a live service series…and since it’s Nintendo you get PREMIUM content for 60 bucks, it’s been 5 years since the second game. Go check out how much it would pay in ANY other live service shooter in that time. I will bet it will be 10 times that price between the yearly releases and all the battle passes and mtx. Folks need to stop this nonsense narrative.
As someone who plays a lot of FPS games like Halo, Call of Duty, Apex Legends, this game has a great mix of casual enjoyment and competitive play to keep my interest. Leveling up and collecting more gear keeps giving me a reason to grind the game and talking with Murch to upgrade my gear the way I want it. Same Splatoon fun, just better and smoother than previous titles. Glad you're enjoying the game RGT85!

I've always found it kinda strange that people refuse to play this game as an entire new entry simply because there's no split screen multiplayer, so could you explain why? I just don't get it. Splatoon 1 only had it because the gamepad was, well, a gamepad with a separate screen.
@@nonyabusiness5339 4 player split screen with couch co-op would be amazing! You could still have 4 vs 4 but you would need at least 4 characters to be computer A.I. Both of the player/computer control options would be played while in 4 player split screen couch co-op! This is not complicated but would seem rather simple! I think the reason that people are still saying the whole "It's not a good sequel" thing, is because Nintendo didn't do a good job of showing the new stuff in this game until the Direct a month ago, hence people refuse the let the idea that it isn't something new go.
The game has a massive graphics overhaul and the new weapons change the entire fight dynamic. No longer can I just run up on everyone with the N-Zap and call it a W. Now I have people coming at me with Splat katanas and giant hammers, mecha crabs and a whole slew of new weapons which is causing me to have to change my entire strategy.

I'm torn between what to buy as a good and really fun multi-player. Need help?
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Splatoon 3?
Great video , the reviewers I've seen write this off as "could have been DLC " baffle me the whole game as been re worked and it shows
I don't know if they are clickbaiting or maybe don't understand gaming as a whole but it in the future I will be avoiding their content
This is a fantastic video not only detailing the game but the situation it is in , thank you .
Reveiwers are just hacktvists.
Ikr Nintendo basically remade the wheel and people are like”splatoon 2.5” the game hasn’t even been out for a week.
How is this a rework? I played Splatoon 2 but still considering whether to buy 3 or not. Tbh it looks roughly the same as 2.

How is it in content, what should I expect from multiplayer (Which looks very different from other shooters I've played)
yes
I know it’s a me problem and we have salmon run for over but I would’ve loved playing turf war against bots to maybe practice in a gentler environment.
this so u can practice
You’re not supposed to be good day 1 lol I took me around 4 months to get good at splatoon in general
Here we gooo the Review I've been waiting for!!
Same region here. I have the same problem.
A "Build a Map" Mode would be awesome, especially if you could upload your map for others to try.
That's basically Mario maker :/
How would that even make sense in splatoon?
@@PrettyINCs It could make sense since shifty stations exists in splat2 and their litteraly just maps built with all the same textures and made to explore gimmiks. This is not a new idea in the community since its one of the more popular ones. If not multiplayer stages, they could do something similar to the mini levels in octo expansion like surviving in a limited time.
Think I might go pick it up right now. Been debating, looks like everyone is enjoying the game! Cheers RGT

Agree with your sentiments around a sequel being the previous game but vastly improved. And that’s what it sounds and looks like Splatoon 3 is. I think people are just complaining about “Splatoon 2.5” to justify why they’re not gonna spend the money on the new game
Bingo

What new modes? Splatoon 2 added more content in comparison to Splatoon 1 than this game does from 2.
This game at its current state is a more polished Splatoon 2, only with less content at the moment.
From what I've see of other say and play from Splat 3, it's solid. I'm still a little busy and a little late to Splat 2 so I'm still enjoying that game for the meantime.

Really I thought COD had updates from the previous one to the current one.
Mind blowing?
I played the splatoon 2s story mode very rarely, took me a year to beat cause of how rarely I played It because, it just was a tutorial.
But with 3, I could play that crap for hours
Deffinitly a worthy sequel to the franchise.
As a guy who’s first Splatoon game WAS Splatoon 3, I was actually very pleasantly surprised! Would 100% recommend it!

@@raskolnikov6443 that's true. I fixed it. Keeping up with 2 year old and work schedule has my brain fried. I think if I picked the game up right now I wouldn't have the brain capacity to enjoy it.
@@leagueofdead569 ngl I still think like Sunbreaker7. Could you tell me how they improved the gameplay? Especially thr multiplayer, turf war.

Does multiplayer require membership? Please give me specific details.
-New movement options
-New specials
-New sub weapons
-Reworked ranked mode
-Emotes
-New spawn system
-Reworked lobby system
-Tags
-Easier game-finding w/ friends
-Revamped Splatfest
-New catalogue system
-Smoother controls (with less imput lag)

I disconnect WAY too often. I have great internet, so I know it’s not on me. The game punishes us for its own failures. I shouldn’t be locked out of playing online because of their server issues.
Still not getting it. Online is better just seems like an update not a sequel, most maps are reused, no new modes sounds like an update.
i was waiting for this video rgt
So no one saw that insane re design of the switch that had a trailer 4 days ago
😑😑😑😑😑
What
What prize
i would just say this... splatoon 3 5 years + new server infra, vs striker 3 years + not the time to implement the new server infra.
Good video. Do more stuff like this. Stay away from the garbage rumors
What’s your Friend code please I need people to play wit I have no friends lol
I feel a lot of people dunking on the game just play multiplayer - and only Turf War or Salmon Run. In that sense, I can see why some people feel it’s ‘the same’ as Splatoon 2. Also the fact that the game is clearly pushing the Switch to its limits, and the Switch itself is starting to show its ‘age’.
But 3 has a great single player campaign, and is a lot more optimized than 2…the question is, is that worth $50 to $60 at launch?
There is in-game chat. Just Use your headphones with mic

The whole "DLC" drama is beyond me. The second one is 5 years old, a sequel is more than welcome, and the game is great, the single player mode is way better than in the second installment also

By the time you reach level 4 your already playing Salmon run non stop due to that you can actually play that mode whenever you want
That and the Story is longer and better

does communication error occurred is common issue of nintendo online?
Is there local co op in this game ?
They should enforce a stricter cooldown for leaving matches. Like CSGO, maybe have a 30 min cooldown the first time and then longer cooldown times if you continue to drop off within a week or so.

I would have purchased Splatoon 3 if it would have had a couch co-op/local multiplayer 4 player split screen offline option! We should not be forced to have online only battles! So I'll just keep playing Splatoon 2 for now.
You could even split the two teams up with both having two players and two computer A.I. on each team or all 4 players on same team VS all 4 computer A.I. on the other team.
Both of the player/computer control options would be played while in 4 player split screen couch co-op! This is not complicated but would seem rather simple! It looks like Nintendo doesn't want to loose any online memberships by forcing Splatoon 3 to have online only battles. Plane and simple, there should be both online multiplayer and offline local multiplayer with split screen battle modes.

I think the reason that people are still saying the whole "It's not a good sequel" thing, is because Nintendo didn't do a good job of showing the new stuff in this game until the Direct a month ago, hence people refuse the let the idea that it isn't something new go.
