I got games that ain't in digital stores because of being delisted and there value for re selling is 2x more expensive then ps5 disc. There still good reason owning disc I stick by it since 1995.

Given how biased game journos are towards Sony and its subsidiaries, and how insanely they were simping for Concord and trying desperately to sway public opinion of it, part of me feels like it actually would've won GOTY had it been successful the way Sony wanted it to be.
The last time I recall game journalists going to bat for a game against the public opinion as hard as they did for Concord was The Last of Us Part II, which not only did win GOTY from basically every outlet, but also won in every lesser category it was eligible for as well.

Yup. That's exactly why they minimize the voice of gamers as much as possible. I think the "players choice" or whatever category is only 10% of the weighted vote at game awards.
What's worse is that the judges vote as a group for their outlet. Not individually. So many of these judges have outright said that most of the time during voting at their respective outlets, people often drop their preferred game and just vote with the favorite because their game has little chance to win.
So what's even the point of it? Judges hive mind vote a game in, don't let players have any meaningful say in it, then act like only they are qualified to have a say.

I don’t really care if they don’t get the high tier awards, given no doubt Asian led game awards might reward them better than western ones and because fans voted with their wallets which allowed these non wokie games to succeed. That’s still a win to me.

Stellar Blade and Wukong aren't perfect games but they are the most fun I've played in a long while
Stellar Blade especially because it felt like I was just going through the motions to get to the stories for the last couple years, but that game lit a fire and reignited my love of gaming life had put a damper on

@@baphomeat Because it did the Body Type A & B thing to skirt around the inevitable issue stupid people would have. Every Dark Souls game prior has Male or Female in the customize character maker. This “problem” has only become an issue for people who either don’t fit in and make it everyone else’s problem or cry because they somehow don’t identify as Male or Female. And even then people still managed to B!+¢H that the female characters were poorly represented when they are all actually well written characters. Meanwhile some of the hardest bosses in Fromsoft’s games are women who can annihilate the player in seconds if they aren’t careful. Hell, I’ll list some, there is Lady Maria from Bloodborne, Madam Butterfly from Sekiro, and most recently Malenia Blade Of Miquella. Never-mind that there is Queen Marika who is the current Goddess in Elden Ring.

Yea I went to go to multiple votings and there was a COMPLETE lack of Elden Ring (in the DLC category for those too dense to understand there are more categories to vote in), Stellar, First Descendant, Wukong, and Warhammer. GOTY has been dead for a long time but this might be the nail in the coffin.
Elden Ring shouldn't be up for anything this year unless there's a Best DLC/Expansion category, because it's not a 2024 game.
And in all honesty, the idea that they're biased against Elden Ring is kinda ridiculous. If anything, Game Awards and game journalists are extremely biased towards FromSoft. They gave Elden Ring pretty much every award in 2022, and gave Sekiro GOTY even though there were better, more popular games that year.

I’m actually done with game ratings and reviews, have been for several years now.
I no longer watch the game awards or participate in them. I don’t watch game reviews and I unsubbed to most gaming content creators and news channels. I keep an eye on new game releases through a Reddit sub and then just watch some gameplay. I can tell in about 1 minute if I’ll enjoy that game or not. Then I play it and decide the rating for myself.
The “official” side of the gaming industry has become useless, rigged, and insufferable. At least in the west. I almost exclusively play games from Asian studios now and a few others like Larian.
What makes me more upset is people validating these awards shows. These are all mainstream corporate run award shows. They are literally the enemy of art and entertainment. The people who are ruining your games are the same ones making these shows.
If this keeps happening, soon the studios won't care about awards. They really should only care about how much $$$ the game makes. And Wukong made a lot of it.
All this will do is make us lose confidence in IGN and go elsewhere to get or game info. These 3 games were the best all year. Star Wars was trash. Go Woke, Go Broke.

I pay no mind to "gaming awards" type shit. They have rarely been honest/fair. I have at least learned that IGN is a complete joke. I didn't care about them before, but now they won't even be a thought in my mind.
Remember the moment when ghe GOTY awards wanted the BG3 devs to stop talking about a dear friend and wrap it up but have the time to put 2 musical scores. Thats where it all went down hill
All these actions against the votes, the game, and their developers should be made illegal. I know its just gaming, but legal action should still be taken to protect the rights of developers from this kind of horrible act towards any game and their developers.
