A neat trick you can try is dripping superglue onto pva - the moisture causes the superglue to instantly start curing, which causes these creepy organic looking rivulets. I'd recommend doing a test on a puddle of pva before putting it on your eggs, but its a technique a lot of wargamers use for tyrannid eggs.

Just made my first set of eggs sacs based off of your fantastic video. The hubby looked at me funny when he saw the pile of used dryer sheets, however, he ended up quite impressed by the final results. I ended up using cheap pearl beads from Hobby Lobby, the holes from the beads that showed through added a nice gruesome level of deteail.
Like many others, just recently found your video series and have been binge watching. Keep up the fantastic work/fun!

Bend a couple of pieces of fine wire and insert them into the beads' stringing holes; the eggs will look as though they're hatching, with little spiderling legs poking through.

I like the formica use. I often grab samples from the local hardware store from their free bins. Haven't used them yet....but I like the idea of using them as a base. Also....they give free flooring squares as well....great contour styles with various depth tiles.

Looks great! 2 comments. 1) Prime in white instead of black, then do the rest of your piece in black. It's much quicker than trying to paint white on black. 2) for washes - get yourself a 2 oz bottle of acrylic extender from Michael's or AC Moore for ~$3. Will last you for years and you can mix it with any color paint you want. I will be making these for a future game, but might need some bigger eggs than that

Quick tip. Liquid dish soap will act as a flow aid. For the small amount of wash you made you can just add a tiny amount. Like the tip of a toothpick amount should do for that little puddle you had. Mix it in well and you'll find that should do the trick. Be sure to experiment with this as you'll need to find the right ratio of paint to water and dish soap. Try and use as color free dish soap brand as you can. Jet dry dishwasher rinse can also be used as well.

here's an idea. If you miss just a small...tiny amount of PVA on the styrene eggs, then they will melt down a little and look like hatched eggs. A brighter green and more nail varnish can be added to the corroded area to make them full of embryonic fluid.

+General Ketchups D&D Crafting Videos Yea I found ova too not be nearly tacky enough for this application. You don't have to use the woodland scenics brand though, any dries clear tacky glue from the craft store will work, even if it's a cheap brand. Spray adhesive would also work I think.
If you are going to try different glues I'd do some test pieces first.

To make spider eggs, I take the balls of glue droppings from hot glue gun, pull some strings of hot glue across and around them and voila, I have webbed spider eggs. If want, can paint grayish images on the glue balls with “legs”. Then when cover in hot glue legs you will see faint images of baby spiders in them. But, I think will use a mixture of the laundry sheet and hot glue strings.
