    Helpful Tips:
    -If your webbing starts to droop from the weight of liquitex, place something underneath of it to hold it up as it dries.
    -If the webbing dries drooping cut a piece of it off at the corner and stretch it until taunt then reglue.
    -IF your webbing is still droopy you can hide thin sticks painted white under the web and apply extra web over these sticks.

    wow I can't believe someone else thought of this , to make mine hard and playable I used spray on yacht varnish. it made it solid enough to put a huge spider mini on it

    Great work on these pieces. I've only recently started painting miniatures and have wanted to make terrain for a while, but it's too intimidating. You really make this look easy. I hope your channel gets big so you can make more videos.

      Don't be intimidated heck terrain is cheap compared to minis. Cardboard and foam paper popsicle sticks straws toothpicks skewers are cheap to practice with.

    Idk how the terrain in the last moments of the video worked out for you, but you might be able to hide supports in the web. Probably could use wooden Dow rods as they are light weight and strong and best of all, cheap. Wrap the gossamer around it and the Dow will be unassuming.

    • @CriticalCrafting
      @CriticalCrafting  5 років тому +2

      It ended up working out but yeah I hid some thin metal rods in the webbing to support it. Some of the larger webs start to droop so I put stuff under them while they dried or pulled and re-cut them to get them to work.

    Tried to make webs one time by spraying acetone onto polystyrene. Proved to be far to brittle. Looked really good, but you could blow on it and tear it. Thought about using it as texture if I could layer it under a clear epoxy, but never went through with the plan.

    • @CriticalCrafting

      @@AlexBabcock-hw9iz I normally put minis on a holder and I have gloves but honestly when I paint with gloves I can't feel the wet paint on them and end up applying paint to areas on accident by brushing the piece with my hands. It's messy work, but honestly I enjoy the paint on my hands :)
