I think for me I would add also an inline reel with a medium light rod for perch and crappie just to get your line down quicker especially using lighter jigs compared to spinning reels it can be tough to get those small baits down quick. I love your videos.
If your referring to the newer style under the rod reels, I haven't had a chance or reason to try them to be honest. They do look interesting though. I use baitcasters quite a bit for my medium heavy and heavy set ups it's just a lot tougher to find baitcasting rods that I like
New to ice fishing and rod selection can get confusing and this video really helped I now know exactly what rods I am going to get
Great video. Very clear and to the point. As a new angler fishing with my young boys, I'm more confident I will have the right gear for the situation.
Appreciate it Jeff!
Three sweet set ups right there and I agree, that really is all you need. That covered everything typically fished for under the ice.
Thanks!
Looking at these Shimano combos this year, thanks for the over view 👍
No problem 👍
Awesome video. I have the same medium rod reel combo and am looking at getting the other two you have. Thanks for sharing!

Great video, thank you for the insight been meaning to combine my summer speckle Sienna 1000 reel with something for ice fishing
Thanks Christian.
I use a 1000 sedona for creek fishing and I love it
Loved the video! Would you recommend the 28 inch medium heavy Fenwick Nighthawk ice combo?
For walleye and pike fishing.
Never used that combo bud but q Medium Heavy sounds perfect for Walleye and Pike unless they are giants then I would go heavy
Thanks this was helpful
Спасибо Buddy!
Looking like another bad start to Lady Simcoe this year.
Starting to look that way unfortunately.
With the convergence will a 1000 size reel fit on a medium light rod?
Absolutely. That's a perfect pairing
I just got an ugly Stick for around $50 Canadian is that a good starter rod?
nice
Why no inline reels?
