Florescent Pink nail polish us on the tip of every ice rod I own, that weren't already florence tip Make sure to explain that to the guy at the register, it helps keep down rumors in town
I use only Medium Light rod now. I use to use light/ultra light rod for small fish. But their have been time when I'm catching small fish with my light/ultra light rod and out of no where here comes a big fish and just snap my light/ultra light rod. You never want or ment to let that happen but it does happen.
#5 jigging raps... Anybody have a favorite rod recommendation for that? Not sure if a #5 would warrant using a med light or medium. I wish ice rod manufacturers would specify lure weight ratings and whether they are slow, moderate, fast, etc. Action... Like they do for open water rods.
The tough thing is that everyone’s ML and M can be different as well. I’d probably fish a M with the #5 as I prefer a slightly stiffer rod with my swimming lures. I’ve also fished a Dead Meat rod from Clam with my swimming lures (smaller sizes like the 5 on down) as well...
I use the One Rod ! ... It is 100% Reliable ! ... It catches All my fish ! ... It is great for Lakes , Rivers , Shore and Boat ! ... The tip moves when there is a bite , Automatically ! I don't have to do anything special ! ... Not sure how good it is , but it Works ! It is the One for me ... I Love it ! ... Its Versatility is Unlimited ! ... Plus , you can get it anywhere ! .... People with Two , Three and Four Rods have more Money than Brains ... The One Rod is All you Need ! ... KISS ! ... :-D
You can get away with a ML if you had to. I’d lean on L for the panfish/perch though. Also maybe look at the Dead Meat rod with the quick tip and solid backbone… might be just what the doctor ordered!!
What are your thoughts on getting “the one rod” as you called the ML and then adding a titanium spring bobber to it for panfish jigs? Any cons using this over a light or UL springbobber rod? I feel like this would truly cover everything up to bigger jigging minnows
*I like the way it feels **enjoyable.fishing** recommend and cast, time will tell I only used it once but it seems to work well....*
Great video explaining these different rods. It’s time to start a “ask the pro” series. I always have more questions after watching these videos.

Nice video. I just bought 2 of these. Wondering where I can get one of those sweatshirts your wearing. Really like it. 👍🏼
Unfortunately it was one we made a few years ago. Not sure if it’s made anymore? If I can find some I’ll let you know...
@@mattjohnsonoutdoors okay. That would be great thanks.

Great video but why didn’t you explain the action of the rods you use for different situations? I would like to know
On the medium lite rod. What would be the best length?
great video man give you a follow after that
I use 1/16 oz for big sunfish and perch and walleye what rod i need?

What would be a good rod to use when using a Jawjacker and going for Pike with a quick set rig? Some sort of medium action rod?

That would work just fine. A ML rod with a quality spring can absolutely work for panfish. I actually prefer a L action rod for spring bobbers
Action vs power. Dude?
Did anyone count how many times he said "Spring Bobber Rod" ? lol
Say "spring bobber" 10 times,🤣
"i'm jigging my deadstick" wtf?????????
