Walmart has a 13 fishing heatwave jigging combo for 25 dollars and I believe it is going to be my go to rod this year (gander mountain changed to gander and I think they still made fishing and hunting stuff)
Honestly ice fishing combos are perfect for fishing the sides of dock or the sides of your boat. Happy fishing 🎣 ✝️
Hello gents. No ice fishing here in western Oregon. My go to setup? Right now, I'm throwing a drop shot rig. #2 hook, 1/4oz tungsten weight, and my fav bait is the BBB Smallie Smasher - color is Chick Magnet. Thanks for your vids. 🎣😷🙏
Don’t have thick ice just thin enough to break if you step on it but strong enough to bounce a 1/2 bait on it.but go to rod and reel is a st croix bass x 7’ 2” medium heavy with a lews carbon.only 8.8 ounces
I use a little Shakespeare baitcaster with an ugly stik gx2 casting rod.
lol you used the 6ft or whatever 2 piece Ugly Stik rod??!!?!!? I still use that as my spinning rod and tbh its great and reliable. I prefer to go much higher end on my baitcasters tho, I use an slx combo
Love the 13 inline reel but also on the fence about that $75 tag lol
I also have the Abu Garcia Veritas Ultralight and I LOVE IT!

I have been using the new Konvert kastking graphite rod with two tips. great backbone for better hook set and very sensitive tips. Comes in Medium and Medium Light. I would love to hear your opinion about it. Thanks, I need to get an inline reel.
I honestly haven't used the kasking ice gear, didn't even know they had any! I'll check it out!
Question for the kastking. Since its a 2 piece,will you lose "feeling" the lightest bites?

Where’s the schooley old school ice rod? My go to rod/reel setup is a st croix legend with a 13 fishing Black Betty free fall or a ACC crappie Stix with a 13 fishing black Betty free fall ghost.

I know this is a year ago but curious since i just bought a daiwa underspin 40xd for slow retrieve on underspin jigheads with less then 2 inch jigs. Seems also like a really good reel for ice fishing. Also do you guys ever use braid for ice fishing? Like 6lb with a leader?
Nice! I haven't used braid, usually straight mono or copolymer ice line
@@aaanglers I just wonder if the increased sensitivity from braid would be good or if it could even be used. Just haven't seen anyone mention it.
