Making a small EDC fixed blade (as fast as possible)

- This was not the knife I planned on making today. The first one had a major warp in the blade after hardening (I think it's fixable) but since I said there would be a knife build video today, I made this one with what little time I had remaining in the day. Enjoy!

About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

Simple Little Life nice little knife in only 5 hours (I make one bad handle in 2 days)
Simple Little Life
Obviously I'm a year late, lol, but what would you charge for a knife like that? I want to get into knife making too and am not sure how to price! Do you figure price by the by the hour, or do you charge premium on top of materials cost? Thanks, and it looks great!
eliprince1 to answer your question, Would you price a Vincent Vangouh painting by the hour? Obviously not so why do so for your knife building
@@ZIPPOMANIAC he is running a home business, it is perfectly reasonable to value your labor at an hourly rate when determining the price of the product you're trying to sell. I knife that took me 5 hours to make isn't worth $1000 just because i think it's really cool, know what I'm sayin? :)
I lost my Buck 110 that I have had for over 30 years. A gentleman at work found it and knew it was mine, and returned it. I was so thankful I wanted to make him an edc, I would give him as a reward for being so honest. I was looking for a shape something fast and I will make a sheath for it this turns out to be the shape that inspired me thanks for your content God bless from Tucson
Those quick knifes you do are honestly the ones I like the most
Thanks! They are a lot of fun and an efficient (yet hectic) way to work👍
Great little knife. No apology required. Got the job done and provided us with some good info!!!
No apology necessary. Great little project. Looks good. Vid quality is fine.
Dude that looks great for being a quick five hour knife!
Thank you!
Simple Little Life you should make a hunting knife with a guy hook
No need to apologies about production value. This was a great video and that was a cool little knife.
Great looking little knife Jeremy. I'd be proud to carry/own that any day. Don't put so much pressure on yourself! We all love what you're doing or else we wouldn't be subscribing!!
What a beauty of a knife, that serves me to take the skin of the animals I used to hunt, such as deer and wild pigs. Congratulations, my friend.
A lot of people have already said this but I will say it again, that is one sweet little knife!
The first things I noticed were: you are highly skilled. You have machinery most of us only dream about. You need to take a chill pill because you're beyond relaxed. You don't respond to many questions or comments - only to the compliments or a few technical ones. Yet your outreach is actually to the little guy - the dreamers - the ones who want to learn but haven't reached your level. Just offering a few observations here that I hope will actually encourage you.
I'm never going to be able to be a knife builder but I really enjoy your vids and checking out the equipment and knife making process. Thanks
Great!!! Thanks for this Video!! Gr.f.suisse!
Hi guys... retting from Spain, m first comment, and one of my first suscrptions... I'm a new knves maker.... I can't call myself bladesmith.. but I'm n the way... Thanks for your inspiring videos. In the future, and if I learn how to do it.. wil be a pleasure share my "creations" with all of you.Again... thanks in advance to all of you..
I absolutely love this knife. I couldn't tell you how many times I've watched this video.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! Cheers 👍
Great looking knife
Might not have been the highest production value, as you said, but solid video regardless. In fact, you doing the audio afterward and doing some quick cuts and keeping things on point actually improved my enjoyment. Thanks again.
There is nothing wrong with the knife! It looks fantastic!!
nice video....
That is a cool result for a quick job. In this things you can see the skills and knowledge of a man who loves what he do. Even if i not plan do my own knives because i busy with so many other projects, i still enjoy all of your videos. Thanks for this from germany
Thank you very much! I really appreciate the kind words. Cheers to you from Canada👍
Stop apologizing, we enjoy the videos either way and the knife came out well. Thanks for making
No need to apologize for that.... I think you made up for it w/ a wicked little blade. Good job and good luck in the future... If you ever need another "5 hour" video idea, please do an old folding razor design but as a pocket knife. I'm curious how you would do it... But also because I think it would be cool. LoL
This knife was so beautiful
That looks just beautiful! I have so much respect for you, handcrafting something like this in 5-6 hours, basically from scratch. True art right there. Love the knife!
Dude, you make absolute works of art. This knife is "simple" and straight forward and perfectly done, in my opinion. By simple I don't mean I could do it, I mean elemental.
How to do you get such a mirror finish just using the 2x72? I would've thought there'd need to be a lot of hand sanding on the primary bevel for that level of finish. I don't make knives but I watch a lot of videos and your finishes really stand out
Really like it. The blue is stunning. Would love to own it
Light bulb moment! Lay down tape to mix epoxy on! Thanks!
What, page by page on a phone book is yesterday? Hell yeah.
That's a really good useful size knife, not to big, not to small and thick enough to take on some heavier work.
I love this build so much. Straight to the point !
nah you dont have to say sorry that is just a awesome knife and the vid was made with great quality. keep it up
don't apologize...the production quality was fine! Really enjoyed the build.
I'm having a hard time understanding why anyone would dislike this video.
Very nice. I admire your craftsmanship

For a rush job, that turned out great. Nice video as always!
Just over 5 hours but the quality looks like a whole lot more time went into it, great job!
So Jeremy, very nice knife! I was looking to find something of a neck knife, and that was it! I liked the Jump Knife as well. I think for the honor of what the Jump Knife represents. You're still one of my favorite knife makers that I can poke fun with about Hockey. Go Kings! GOD Bless you and the fam. And of course Cheers friend,
Brady
I would still like to see you make that BBQ meat slicer knife you started with, it looked like it was going to be a beauty. You turned a disappointment into a real victory with the knife you did make, really nice job.
