I sold TTG to Nick about 2 months ago, so I can speak to the finances. In 2022 TTG sniper challenges lost 31k, that was acceptable to me because starting up a new series is an investment and the regular TTG events made up for the losses and overall TTG was and is profitable. In 2023 the sniper challenges looked like they were going to be breaking even, which was a good trajectory strictly financially speaking. The toll running 12 TTG events, 4 sniper Challenges and 4 Tac2Gun was becoming stressful as we had to handle business as if we were in the office while we were setting up matches. 20 events means roughly 200 days on the road for the TTG team. So a good decision was made, and that was to focus on the main TTG events, reduce stress on the team and volunteers.
It was good shooting with you. Sucks that the restof these got canceled, if you finfld any more good pistol/precision rifle matches make sure you put the info out there.
@@mrs.vasquezz It's an expensive day for sure but its worth it. The range is incredible. You also get entered in to a raffle with multiple prizes just for competing. I won a complete 16" Geissele Super Duty upper last match!
I have the same reticle on my NX-8 and I mainly use holdovers. I dialed one stage in the first match and I didn’t do good on that stage, so I’ll just stick with using holdovers. I’m also toying with the idea of using speed drops because the targets are big enough that I don’t have to be dead on.
It's all situation dependent and what you are most confident with it. The beauty of this sport is how many different ways you can approach getting hits at distance.
Have you considered hosting a collection of shooting challenges in TX? You could call it "Above Average Joes" just make sure I get one of the t-shirts haha
Yea id love to see the accounting side from that. Because with what they charge for the event compared to others im at lost on how the finances dont work. Sucks was super pumped for KC.
The secret ingredient is incompetence. I jest. I don't know what it takes to run tourneys like this but based on my experience in other games and sports, it's HELLA EXPENSIVE. Without having legit and deep-pocketed sponsors, there's gonna be a problem with staffing and running stuff like this. That it runs across the country makes it more complex and expensive. That said, I've also seen what they charge, and I dunno how they have problems but everything involving guns is expensive from an insurance perspective.
They indicated that they were stretching themselves too thin with so many competitions so getting RO’s was becoming a problem because they were beat up from doing so many comps. It sucks , but it makes sense. Hopefully they can combine the elements of TTG, Tac2Gun, and Sniper Challenge.
What they charged may have been part of the problem. I've shot a lot of major matches, 3 gun and PRS, so I've got a lot of examples to compare this to and we most certainly did not get our money's worth. They could have cut the fee in half and probably would have at least doubled the attendance, if not more.
Good stuff man. 3 minutes sounds nice but dependent on rd count for cof. At the IWI gas gun matches in PA were pretty much exclusive to 90 seconds w a 15-20 rd stage
Alabama you say?? Welcome to the Heart of Dixie, and humidity. Come back in two months for peak southern heat. We train different down here, Roll Tide🇺🇸
So you couldn't talk about the issues with the pistol but could you type it on the screen? I'm kinda interested with what happened. EDIT: At first I was kinda mad that I didn't even know this event was happening in my backyard. Then I saw several stages that I think are just BS. Who shows up to a sniper challenge to shoot one-handed? That's dumb. I also think the spotting was *really* questionable. Kinda glad I didn't pay all that money to be mad all day.
I couldn't talk about the trigger issue because youtube classifies that as modifying triggers but essentially the over travel came out of adjustment but Vulcan Machinewerks fixed it for me when I got back
That has been the sentiment of a lot of competitors but we don't know their overheard so hard to say. I'm sure we'll see this format or something similar to it again
Long story short i had to take my sling off to continue on the stage. Couldn't show it because that's rifle disassembly in their books. Pistol trigger had the overtravel screw come out of adjustment but the guys at Vulcan Machinewerks spotted it and fixed it after the match
@@jimmybrodriguez Thanks! I figure the sling part, just wasn’t sure on the handgun. I just picked up a staccato so I’m always curious when people have issues with them.
Because it did flash again. That flasher flashed 2-3 times slow then 2-3 times fast. I mistook the fast flash for a second set of flashes. The spotter explained it to me after the stage.
@@jimmybrodriguez Yes sir. I completely understand but remember its not a mistake if you learn from it. There is a lot going on with a match like and most of it is mental. All in all, you handled it well. I shouldn't have assumed. That was my mistake. LOL Thanks for sharing.
Sad they are cancelling these, wouldve loved to make it out to one. Also how stupid is it that you can’t talk about issues you’re having because of UA-cam guidelines😂 what a crazy world
I shoot prs at that range, that rock is easy if u go modified prone with both knees down
short king
So you have a link to an official announcement on the cancellation? I don't see anything on the TTG website about it.

“Finances” greed will be the downfall. We the community don’t need them. We can create our own!
AL Native here.
What part of AL was this at?
Have you considered holding over instead of using dope?
It was good shooting with you. Sucks that the restof these got canceled, if you finfld any more good pistol/precision rifle matches make sure you put the info out there.
Yup, we're giving QP a second chance and will post about that, also checking out a few others. I'll try to post them up as early as I can
Due to guidelines you couldn’t show us how you unstuck your sling?! What???
“Finances”?!? They still make money but not nearly as much as the regular Tactical Games events as those usually have about 100-200 participants.
I don't know what their overhead looks like so its hard to say, but i think there is huge potential with this format
Was a pleasure shooting with you and Taylor! Dinner was even better, learned so much more there!! Hopefully I can see you guys at jtac
Likewise bro looking forward to shooting together again sometime soon. Who knew a salt and pepper shaker could lead to so much conversation lol
Let’s get dinner figured out lol
This content os pretty awesome man
Appreciate it!
Great day 1 recap, definitely learned about patience in the wobble zone as well.
thanks brother. Yeah that wobble zone was all over the place on those stages lol
Why not shoot PRS then?
You definitely gotta make it out to Geissele War Rifles gas gun match! Camping is available
Aw man I was supposed to start that in June but $200 in match fee + ammo isn't worth it for a few hours of shooting 😅

I have my first PRS GAS GUN Match on June 17th at PNTC . We will be shooting out to 600M with known and unknown distances...
Awesome shooting bro
Good Luck! Watch, learn, take notes, have fun!
See you at JTAC next weekend.
Looking forward to it
Seriously... I was looking forward to doing one of the sniper challenges.
Yup we had initially planned at being at all of them
Great shooting with you Jim! Can’t wait till y’all come down to FL!
Great shooting man!
Who's guideline that you cant talk about malfunctions?
UA-cam

@Jim's Goon Life Well done mang, great shooting! 👏
I really enjoyed this video....made me want to go out and try something like that.

Yes and target size. QP matches are 90 seconds too but so far the TTGSC stages were much more challenging and targets were smaller.
I have been thinking about putting on a sniper challenge match in AZ. 2 man teams with a combination of land nav and shooting. Maybe now is the time.
It’s crazy that despite all the errors you still got 3rd place. A lot of those stages look brutal.
I do prs at Alabama precision. On the rock it's best to get on your knees and lay on the rock. That's where we normally shot the mover.
Go right to left and pull the tripod to you so it stays open.
I'll try that in practice before the next match
Where at in AZ? Can you share details?
Dude, these guide lines are killers.

Thought they went back on that. Demo ranch and Brandon Herrera take mags out and take apart guns still…
Seems to me we have a video of excuses

@@jimmybrodriguez Just some food for thought, but maybe you should explain that during the video. Thats a mistake anyone could make.
