    Always enjoy your videos! Pro quality, laid back delivery/discussion style, all while providing useful info. I used to run the long range PRS circuit between Texas and Virginia, back when PRS was just getting started. Always fun matches and good people. I like the Arm Coach style data book like you used, for keeping my stage plan cards on the front window for quick reference while shooting. Also carried a hardcopy printout of my ballistics data (0-1,000 yards) showing data every 100 yards, on an inside flap of my Arm Coach and used that to make my stage plan cards. Don't do PRS anymore, but now lots of USPSA and Steel Challenge, and building an AR for some 2 gun matches. Any match is a good match to measure your abilities and push your capabilities. Keep up the good work! That music you use in the intro to each video is a catchy hook for me!

      Shot both, without ear pro, huxwrx flow 556 is a good bit better, both suck at flash suppression but flow 556 is super quiet for a right handed shooter. I personally opted to run the polonium S length to get that nice flash suppression and sound suppression. Disclaimer I also have bad ears but the siarra 5 is the only duty suppressor that hurts my ears in the K size besides the Sandman K and the Surefire mini.

    I love watching you dive into long range. I started watching your videos to diversify away from long range so it feels like it's coming full circle. I do have a question that may already have been answered. Why .223 and not something with a much cleaner BC Like 6 arc, 6.5 grendel? Proof makes an awesome 14.5 6 arc barrel

    Hey, not a criticism but an honest question... Why the 12.5 on a long range course with mostly stationary positions? Did it provide a not so obvious advantage? Are the effects of lower velocity from a shorter barrel just overblown?

    • @jimmybrodriguez
      @jimmybrodriguez  Рік тому +9

      I wanted to push the 12.5 to its limits. Everyone said I shouldn’t be able to make hits at 700+ with my 12.5 and I did. There is a muzzle velocity difference but that’s only one part of the equation.

      @@eddiehavok25 not as heavy as carrying two rifles. Having multiple guns is fine for most competitions but that gamesmanship is what ruins the purpose of a “RECCE” competition where you are supposed to use one gun for everything from zero to 700 yds.

    Hey. Great video. Lots of useful information. But you need to get a better understanding of how these events are scored. You claimed to have finished 5th overall. Probably not the case because you're not shooting the same match as the other divisions. You can only accurately compare yourself to competitors in the same division.

    • @jimmybrodriguez
      @jimmybrodriguez  Рік тому +1

      I understand how they are scored which is why they don’t give out overall awards and only by division. There are too many variables for it to be what many would consider a “fair” overall winner. But it’s also relative as they try to even it out as much as possible. Those with larger caliber and greater magnification have to shoot further and smaller targets. Those with larger and closer targets have equipment restrictions. Those with no movement have a smaller time allowance to complete the stage. However, the environmentals, positions, and on some stages targets and distances are the same. So there is some relevance in the comparison and I only do so as a measuring stick for myself as I shoot more of these specific matches since our division was so small.
