- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- Almost every diesel engine has oil leaks, the 6.7 powerstroke is not immune to that.
In this video we perform an entire engine reseal on this 6.7 Powerstroke. The 6.7 Powerstroke has been the workhorse of the Ford Super Duty trucks since 2011.
Thanks for watching!

When I have a complicated piece of machinery to open up, I take a piece of cardboard and draw the machine on it. Poke a bunch of holes where they belong and stick the nuts and bolts on the cardboard after you clean them one by one. Every part goes back exactly.
Im an air traffic controller and I dont drive a diesel but I enjoy these videos. Super interesting.
Drive a Dair / Howells diesel .
Totally enjoyed your style of presentation coupled with the voice-over. It made for a quick informative video. Many Thanks.
Thanks!
Next time I'd like to see what all you had to disconnect to get the cab off.
You’re the freakin man, man!
Thanks!
@@FlyingWrenches13 emailed you too dude!
You are a really good ford technician my friend. Great video, as always 🇺🇸💪
Thanks 👍
Attention flying wrenches
I subbed to your Chanel because of an older video. I appreciate the honest answered regarding the 6r80 shudder .
Dude you saved me some serious cash.
Great video guys, slap your logo on at the end when it went to black.
Thank you!
That will be 10k sir....

Dave’s auto tip for the ford rear seals
Don’t lube with oil for install
Put rtv gasket maker on the rear outer seal because it tends to leak there
@benmartin6476 Careful putting RTV on the outside of dynamic seals. You want your seal to stay in place. I've seen many seals, especially pinion seals, walk out because they were siliconed. If I'm worried about that sealing surface then I'll use sleeve retainer. Not only will it work as a gasket but it'll lock the seal in place. Just something to keep in mind.
Nice vid. Y'all make it look easy.
Love the voice over!
You guys chilling and talking shop.
Keep it up.
Thank you!
Im surpriaed you didn't do aome other upgrades like a 2011 upper pan with a gasket instead of the silicone... anyway nice vid sure is nice to work on that engine out of the truck
How much did this job cost?
A shit ton
I bet around 8 grand@@Vandantcyclone
@@maxpaul11 Jesus Christ that hurts
I can't help but think that's a lot of hands in that pie... Maybe I'm just used to working in small shops but if I'm doing a big job like that no way would I feel comfortable with other people doing anything other than basic housekeeping type tasks or servicing isolated components on the bench. I especially wouldn't feel comfortable with anyone doing any actual installation of components. Too many unknowns.
If I've got free time and I go to help someone with something big I'll stick to organizing stuff for them. Removing garbage/cardboard/metal, putting back service tools no longer needed, removing waste fluids, cleaning up spills, etc. If I can keep the tech "in the zone" and not doing anything else than I find that gets the job done much faster than if I jumped in and started wrenching myself. Not to mention then you're introducing multiple sets of tools or moving their tools and just generally being a distraction.
I've never really worked in large shops so maybe you get used to it but I don't think I'd want to get used to it... That's just how I'm wired though.
Thanks for the videos of dealership insight! It's quite helpful to us independents.
I have a 2011 F-250 with 215k miles. I have an oil leak, replaced the lower oil pan and ccv but it still has some leakage. I'm interested in a complete engine seal. This was a great video.
It's not a DIY design right from the start. Drive the classic 7.3L model and put the money in your retirement investment account.
Yes sir! Absolutely right!!
Why I switched from Ford to a Ram Cummins such a simple design compared to the 6.7 Powerstroke or 6.6 Duramax. Few part reduction and it's a monster and reliable
Bro you can’t find anymore that aren’t clapped out this comment is not new.
@@BrandonBigB956they all have the same issues now.
Good job 👍
Fascinating. I haven't seen much inside of a 6.7. Are those valve cover/intakes prone to leaking too?
Very very rarely, never actually seen any that have leaked in my hundreds that I’ve worked on, it almost always the upper oil pan or injector to cover seals. Also the turbo pedestal and oil lines like to leak, and the rear main occasionally but not usually leaks.
So what does “said” reseal job typically run, as someone looking to maybe get this done one day?! 2013 6.7L owner right’chere!!!
Some of these engineers that design the engines and equipment should have to repair certain things after they've prototypes the parts and have them in their final stage before production, maybe we'd see more logical designs and less of this crap
Do some 2.7 ecoboost problems thx great job
Power smoke 🎉🎉
Love ur videos
Where is ur shop located?
2019 just a little over 66,000 miles and darn upper oil pan starting to leak drivers side towards the front of the block
CCV is not swollen and blown up oil cap doesn’t blow out of my hand vacuum pump not leaking
Hey man you're awesome and a different question from the video I'm just trying to get hold of you if you were to buy an F-150 would you go with the 5.0 or have they improved that 3.5 EcoBoost enough because I had it 10 years ago and it sucked not reliable a lot of fuel you really can't mod it much etc Thanks !
Nice! 👍🏼
I got one for you...what 's involved in changing out a 3.5 liter to a 5.0 coyote ,
It's pretty crazy when you got to remove the whole truck off the chassis to work on an engine is it that way with the GMC Chevy or Ford and probably Dodge except for the old 5.9 Cummins why couldn't Chevrolet GMC Ford Dodge make a tilt Hood like they do for semis
What are your thoughts on the cam follower lifter failure ? My 2021 F550 with 60k miles just went down. Is there a fix to prevent this in the future ? When it’s repaired I’m going to verify oil pressure at an idle.
Why can the engine and tranny be removed in the shop but not installed inside the shop
I have a question if I’m doin the upper oil pan do you do the rear cover 2013 with 250k miles
where can I get the crank case filter? I have a 2015 6.7
Just did a engine on a tow truck and it was locked up solid I had to air hammer the crank shaft while someone turned the crank pulley bolts it was siezed smh
And had to rent a engine hoist that could lift the engine but it got done and them had a knock/ping at 2k rpm I ended up having to do all the injectors once it was all together smh the trunk is on the road like new
The engine will run without the tone wheel. Ask me how i know 🤦♂️
What’s the cost of that job?
When I was towing a vw mechanic told me he loves Volkswagen. Not because they're great cars but because, in his words, he makes bank because of vw .
You are probably the same with Fords, Ford have always built crap cars and trucks ,I know because I was the first one there when a Ford would lay down and die and the owner would tell me all the problems they would have
LOL Fix Or Repair Dailey......
@@aBigMeanie Ford , found on the road dead
How much was this reseal & was it warranty or customer pay out?
Nice now it was still start leaking 50k from now
How old are you
Power dump.
Is ford going down the drain ,working on early model trucks!
That truck is anywhere from 8-13 years old. Wouldn't exactly call it a late model
Junk
Stop with the fast motion! I could not watch it.
How many miles?
.. i should think a new Engine would be about the Same or cheaper .. 🧰👨🔧
