In games like this, one man's "micromanagement" is another man's "engaging granularity", it's just a matter of personal taste, and honestly I don't think there are enough games that do "the devil's in the details" in a fun way. There seems to be very little "set it and forget it" in this game, which I think helps set it apart. You want your town to function, and function efficiently? You have to put in the planning and effort to go from just getting by to a well oiled machine of a bustling metropolis. And I can appreciate that kind of challenge. It does seem an interesting choice that there's no tutorial and that you sort of have to teach yourself by looking through all the menus to see what they mean (like food spoilage, farming mechanics, and efficient resource gathering methods). You really have to explore the interface to see what's what and what effects what, like learning "oh, if I set up a cooper, I can get barrels, which further slows down food spoilage". I'm interested in seeing a series of this with how the game progresses.
One of the things that Crate is really good at is quality of life and clearly showing things to the player. I appreciate that in this game, you've got lots of indicators that almost make tutorials unnecessary as long as you're familiar with the genre. Grim Dawn is superbly easy to get into because everything you need to know is readily available, and so far the same is true with this game. I especially liked that when you're looking at buildings to construct, not only does it list the prerequisites but also tells you where to find them. Crate is really good at taking complex games and making them very accessible.

Your channel is rapidly becoming one of my favorites to watch for management Sim content. Don't know why I haven't found you before now, but your upbeat energy is infectious and I'm enjoying watching you play.
Welcome back pravus I hope you had a great time The devs said early access will last about 12 month Also they said they are going to add some buildings And are open to suggestion I personally want 2 buildings Forester Quarry
For me in the beginning fishing is the best way to get food. Hunting is actually quite hard since if you do find any wild animals, they don't seem to respawn that often. Farming was something I did quite late which means my fishing production was pretty good since I never had any famine.
Keep it up Pravis! I know you took a break but don’t be discouraged! We’re here with you buddy! I have to try this out now because I’ve been playing Settlement Survival lately. You’re awesome, keep it up.
This is why Im subscribed to this channel! Got the game recommended on the steam store and at a quick glance my first thoughts were - looks like a good game, should probably watch a video. And the first thing that came to my mind was Pravus would probably play this game and lo and behold here we are! Also late happy birthday!
omg so happy you played this, was bored once and saw an other dude playing this (he aint as fun or good as you) and I was thinking men Pravus would love this game . Hope you enjoy playing it:)
I just finished an around 8hr session fully addicted and enjoying myself, and decided to finish off the save by trying to get a game over. After getting rid of my food and watching numbers drop from 160 to 2 left, I couldn't get the last 2 to die no matter how hard I tried, so I'm wondering if it's even possible lol
Pravus: There can be predators moving around Wolf 1: Hey I killed a human Wolf 2: I didn't Herbert from Family Guy: Amateurs, you go after Chris Griffin not those
I came here to see if the game is worth it and it looks pretty good. Will probably pick it up. Thanks for the video. Also I'm from VA as well which is pretty cool
Ok so I stumbled across your channel as I love ck3 and now I find out you are a DMV guy you win my friend. #FXBG #RVA great first video this game has some real promise. Banished will always be the gold standard
You can increase the builders to get more people to build and repair. Make sure you have white number for labourer or you will start having things move slower from building to building.
Ah... I can see the scene before my eyes: New indie colony sim: *drops* Pravus: Giddy like a child on a toy store window, promised to get something because he's such a good boy...
I recently picked up the game also and the Grim Dawn game was only a buck more, so I got it too from Steam. Haven't played the Dawn game yet since I have been working on this game. Clearly have a lot to learn yet, but trying to make helpful videos for new players since I wanted to record my first efforts after around half a dozen test games. Looking for more videos to watch to pick up ideas on how to play better.
O dear! I am thinking placing the city center there will soon be a very cramped tiny city and you will wish there was more land around the center of the city. Well, until you are in tier 3 when you can have more city centers and other stuff. Since your voice is so animated, a game designed to be played slow with a relaxed pace seems more like a game designed to make war as soon as possible.
I love how these channels try out a new game for a couple of hours and immediately jump to make a "tutorial" video where they butcher the gameplay and give bad advices. if you're gonna make a video about a new game, don't try to call it "tutorial" or try to look experienced in the game. It is better to say that you are trying out a new game and learning with the viewer, rather than talking like an expert.
You can tell, that Pravus was a boyscout! At a lake or river you can "harvest" fish and in winter plants "turn themselves off" XD
idk I just learned biology in elementary and read in my free time, not that hard to know how the world works

NOOO! Clear is not the tool you want to use. You want to use Harvest, not clear. Clear will remove the trees and rocks, not gather them
Why would there be a difference? That’s just stupid

You should build a little bit more houses then people. So that Couple can live together and make babieees.

From Grim Dawn dev? Nicee they are good people over there.
I really like the look of this game. I have never played a game that is laid out like this. Is Banished the one you would recommend as a good first?
Hi pravus happy birthday
Happy bday! Good joke :D
you can move the blueberry bushes just like you can move your buildings. nothing else harvestable is moveable though.
Yes

I’m curious to know, have you ever been down to Jamestown?
