I almost turned off this cover in the beginning because a trumpet playing one of the sexiest guitar riffs of all time seemed sacrilegious. But thanks to the awesome singing and the FABULOUS harmonies in the chorus, the trumpet playing grew on me. Great job on this!
You KILLED it, and with a minimalistic approach. Made it even more potent. Bridget and Rachael (and sometimes Mikes) = Amazing Harmonies! The texture of your voices rises above!
The bassist must have calluses so thick she don't need oven mitts! While the singer is mesmerizing, that bass is the secret all-star of this performance (tho the singing sends chills down my spine every time I hear this performance).
So Great. What a cover. Simplistic at it's best. Learning Guitar. The Exspurts tell you while soloing leave holes so the rest of the band can be heard. Rachael's Simple guitar playing allows you to hear Bridget's great Base playing. Not to mention It also allows you to hear Rachael's voice as well. The best version ever of this song.
Saw them last night....she rocked the fucking house here in Charleston. They should never open for another band again.....headliner material all the way.
It's so weird how that first missed beat is totally intentional as they do it in the second verse as well... It's a really cool little signature. In the song "rabid animal" they begin with a delay followed by a missed beat to catch up right at the beginning. Learning all their songs
This is incredible
Bad. Ass. What a great group! How in the hell am I just now hearing about them? Thank you UA-cam!
I'm 43. I have loved this song since I was a little boy. This cover is the best I have heard, f'ing awesome in fact. Loved it, thank you :)
Shedlooney,
I have loved this song ever since I first heard it .. it is such a wonderful song .. it is so majestic ...
Rachael Price (the voice), Mike "McDuck" Olson (trumpet), Bridget Kearney (bass), Mike Calabrese (drums).
@@cliffstevenson5773 Bridget makes some AWESOME videos! Check them out!!
Great version! And kudos to the sound engineers involved in this capture. The sound is mind-blowing good!
Songpoets Thank you!
My pleasure. Great work!
the final pre-chorus (2:40) - one of the best musical things I've ever witnessed
I love this - it restored my faith in music - great musical quality, but most importantly it got me going - thx guys 😘👍☮️
Plenty of good music out there. Mostly older stuff to be sure. Be a little badger & dig deeper! ❤
OMG! My favorite nowdays band playing my favorite artist of all time, Paul McCartney!!!
SO PERFECT!
I almost turned off this cover in the beginning because a trumpet playing one of the sexiest guitar riffs of all time seemed sacrilegious. But thanks to the awesome singing and the FABULOUS harmonies in the chorus, the trumpet playing grew on me. Great job on this!
The talent it takes to play many different guitar riffs on a trumpet, and to make them just as sexy, had me hooked. Miss you Mcduck 😭
Paul would totally dig this.
This group personifies the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. Excellent performance.
Aside from any version of this song that features McCartney, this is my favorite version. Who’d have guessed a trumpet could rock this tune.
One of the best songs ever written and you guys *KILLED* it! Bravo!
Incredible, just incredible!
I am almost speechless...the best I can utter is "wow."
You KILLED it, and with a minimalistic approach. Made it even more potent. Bridget and Rachael (and sometimes Mikes) = Amazing Harmonies! The texture of your voices rises above!
Best thing I have heard in a long time! Pure talent!
Right On Brother !! !!
This is really a fantastically well-done cover, and very well-recorded too. Props all around.
I really liked Paul's version, but I love this!
I got to see Susan Tedeschi sing this in person in October, and i hope to get to see Rachael abd the band do it in person later this year. 🔥
this just never gets old. thank you lake street dive!
LOVE those vocal harmonies!
The bassist must have calluses so thick she don't need oven mitts! While the singer is mesmerizing, that bass is the secret all-star of this performance (tho the singing sends chills down my spine every time I hear this performance).

Lake Street Dive is SO COOL!!! Wow is all I can say!
Saw them live at the Grey Eagle in Asheville NC just about the time they were breaking big. A mind blowing show and I immediately became a fan.

Absolutely stellar; this is what you do with a cover-creative liberty and they made it their very own.

The Beatles should cover Lake Street Dive!
Amazing!!!!!!

Rachel's voice is awesome and she looks like Scarlett Johansson.
Yeah that's fine.. don't change anything,LSD, keep on smoking it.

If their is a better female voice out there I haven’t heard it.this group just fits together
No. She's the best by far.
hell yeah!
You should have sang the original, I bet Paul loves your version
What kind of guitar is she playing. Sounds good.
Different topic but I think I'd enjoy if they did a cover of Dan Fogelberg's "Part of the Plan". I think they would do an outstanding job.
Lindo de mais!
the trumpet solo is balls out! but may favorite is the bass player!
That trumpet solo banged!
that kicked arse...!
Badass!
The Macca original was a Lennon spoof. Here it is a classy bit of soul - and strangely enough - it works. Fine playing and singing.
