Well as someone who has loved this song dearly for more than fifty years, I have to say this takes the cake. Simply the most beautiful version I have ever heard!
Okay. You guys got the Queen. The very tiptop of possible singers. There's no other voice like Rachael Price. I hope you recorded a TON of songs in that session.
73 yr old music addict with Jackson Browne high, high in my pantheon. I believe there’s no greater homage to an artist than putting in the time, care, and passion to make his or her song new, and make it your own. Respect to every one involved for having so clearly done exactly that.
@@HermannFamily Nothing against Rachel - I just "discovered" her earlier tonight - and it's not my intention to upset anyone or to downplay Ms Prices's considerable talent - but IMHO - Jackson Browne will be remembered as a genius long after Ms. Price is a mere footnote to music history
Maybe it's just her intention to be a beautiful person with a beautiful voice that brings enjoyment to people. As the last lines in this song states: "Don't confront me with my failures..I have not forgotten them". Maybe more of us should take the "genius's" words to heart.
Don’t confront me with my failures, I have not forgotten them. … A line that brings tears to a person full of failures, but looking forwards to being better. A wonderful song and a wonderful singer.
No question Rachael has to be the finest singer around these days. At the risk of causing apoplexy she reminds me of Karen Carpenter, having a superb, totally different voice, but sharing the ability to effortlessly interpret the emotion of everything she sings - particularly 'These Days'
Don't confront me with my failures, I HAD not forgotten them.... I love this song, and I (mostly) love that line so much. But using the past tense there always bugs me. I don't understand what Browne was going for there.
Rachael Price has one of those rare voices that you can feel in your bones on it's way to your heart. Thank you Rachael, for all you went through to bring this magic to us all. Her voice smiles through my tears.
Artists at the pinnacle of musical expression and performance. Jackson Browne's classic composition sung by Rachael Price. Doesn't get any better than this. Thanks for posting.
We live in extraordinary musical times that often must compensate for the many horrors of modern life. I, for one, am overwhelmed with gratitude to Rachael Price, yMusic, and Lake Streed Dive for always being there for so many years with so many great songs, especially when I need to find joy and comfort in this world. Finer music you will never find...!!!
An absolutely beautiful ode to an amazing work, written by a 16 year old. I hope Jackson Browne has seen this. I’m guessing he’d be as moved as I have ☮️💜
One of the greatest voices I have ever heard. I've been a fan of Rachael Price since she first started with Lake Street Dive. This is truly a beautiful arrangement, and her voice is the icing on the cake.
"These days I seem to think a lot About the things that I forgot to do For you And all the times I had the chance to" I am at an age now where those lyrics resonate so much as I'm sure they do for many others.
The ochestral arrangement here, amplifying and sustaining certain notes, brings the melancholy to the forefront in a beautiful way. Lovely work by the vocalist, also.
i'm melting. perfection, i love this chamber version concept, and to rachael we all bow down. makes me think of the arrangements on Joni's Court and Spark.
The world needs more Rachael Prices singing.
We are all lucky to be alive in a time when Rachel Price sings.
Agreed, but I'd add every soul that comes into the world hereafter.
Her lower register is unlike any woman singer I have ever heard. You are right - she is an incredible talent. GBjj
Well said. Amen.
@@jeffreyjacobs390She reminds me of Jennifer Warnes.
@@sartainja Absolutely.

Have you ever heard Nico‘s version?
Good but not Nico
There's no question Rachael Price's voice and delivery are extraordinary... but also notice the arrangement is beyond magnificent.
truly.
There will be people that listen to this song for the first time. A whole new generation.
The voice of this generation singing a song, a poem really, from the voice of another generation. Pure bliss.
So true and well said.
This is possibly one of the most moving performances I’ve ever listened to in my more than sixty years of loving music.
To think that Jackson Browne was only 16 when he wrote this evergreen. Wow.
His mother wrote it.
@@frankwallis8940 Good god have you notified the authorities?
I could write a song without melody at age 8, so big whoop.

check out Olivia Chaney if you're into the folk/alt scene thing
Love Rach and band…
I'd suggest that Haley Reinhart is somewhere within a standard deviation of Rachael's tiptopiness.
Never hit “like” so fast, Rachael and company covering These Days, one of the saddest, most beautiful songs ever.

Chamber ensemble arrangements can do wonders for a piece. Thoughtful wonders. Wish we had more of them.
If I could imagine one thing I've wanted for the last decade, it's that this woman would come out with a serious solo album
I love it when favourites collide... been a fan of Stories and Lake Street Dive and Rachel and Vilray for years ... love to see this.
Ditto plus Jackson Brown is a genius.
Jackson BrownE is really a genius!!

How many failures at sixteen?
@@terry8992 Karen Carpenter is a good comparison. I would also say Carly Simon.

What a pleasant surprise to see Rachael here!
The arrangement is beautiful.
Goosebumps! I hope that Jackson Browne will get to hear what You young people did with his song.
Beautiful .. Thank all of you,
for your precious time !!
Her voice is the real deal. Natural and powerful. Worlds beyond most of the fake crap on pop radio these days.
She sang with hot tuna covering Jefferson Airplane just fantastic
Is there ANYTHING this woman can't sing?ALways, such beauty and soul and richness. stories were perfect with her!
I’ve yet to find something she has done that I don’t adore, a’times more than the original. Like ‘I Want You Back’. Or this…
nice
I love pure music. No auto tuner - no computers. Lovely.
I could watch and listen to Rachael Price forever
The Oboe is the glue 😊 so beautiful..
One of my favourite Jackson Browne's masterpiece. Its so freshly done here.A classic in itself.
one of my all time favorites and written at 16 makes it even more special
10sec are enough to realize that she has an impressive voice. Absolutely amazing, gorgeous version
Easily one of my favorite female vocalists of the modern era! 👍👍 Listen to some Lake Street Dive if you haven't heard her before.
The flute and clarinet passages are so … so right.
That dude's Epiphone guitar sounds amazing, and of course the beautiful sound of Rachael's one of a kind vocal instrument. Outstanding!
As a fan of Jackson Browne forever, this interpretation of his classic brought the tears.
I’m praying you guys come to Kentucky or Indiana!!

Feel like I just held that song up to the light and saw things I never saw in it before.
Every time I return to listen to her it appears her voice has grown more beautiful. What a tremendous performance of this song.
I am stunned. Such a beautiful heart-rendering cover of this song. This song was written for Rachael.
I'm crying... her voice is so touching
what control Rachel has over her voice and this song.
Rachael price is priceless . The full sound is superb
I loved the flute melody and those low vocal note inflections
I've grown old with Nico's song with JB's intro. Still the best for me.

This just popped up for me. I recognized Ms. Price's face and clicked before reading a word of the title. If she's singing, I'm listening.
so much 70's soul and vibe...She would have been a mega star back then....but why not now??? She's amazing.
She is slowly but surely getting there. Saw them three years ago in a 2000 seat amp now they’re selling out MSG!
Long been a fan of Rachael Price, Lake St Dive and Jackson Browne. But that was wow... goosebumps.
this is literally the best music on the internet these days
Wherever this young woman is- I hope she’s singing. Wonderful voice. Rare and beautiful
