Agree here too! She is a gem, and just love this band. I recently listened to a long interview with Bridget on The Working Songwriter podcast. Was sad when it was done because she's so creative and engaging.
So I checked this band after I saw this. Never heard of these guys before Mr. Colbert said they were one of his favorite bands. “Hypotheticals “ is a fantastic song by these guys. I asked Alexa to shuffle songs from these guys and I listened to really good music for over an hour. They deserve your support if you are a fan of great music.!!!!
@@jazzycrescendo9465 I am with you!!! I got a plan A, and a plan B, and if absolutely necessary, I got a plan C. I love that line so much. Their music is just amazing. When I cook breakfast on Sunday morning, I play them and I do this almost every week.
They're so damn good. I got lucky to have been clued into them right when they were first coming into the scene. One of those rare bands who sounds both totally different from when they started, and yet somehow just the same. They've grown and evolved, but always remained themselves. Musicians' music... for the people. Which is an incredibly rare and beautiful combination.
o shut up! They are my fav! Listen to good kisser and Hypotheticals. and when you can see them live. rachel is such a power house with her voice. and brittany is awesome too!
You've been missing out! Check out all of their stuff. It all started with "I want you back" that they sang on the sidewalk over 10 years ago for me. Been following them every since. Their cover of Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" is one of my favorites too. Rich Girl and so many others though.
I got to see Lake Street Dive about a decade ago in Knoxville. What a GREAT concert! Been following them ever since. Glad to see them on The Late Show.
I have been a fan for years, and I love seeing them on a big national stage like this…One of the most legitimately talented groups out there right now and they deserve to blow up! Congrats on the tour, the new album…all of it!
My daughter introduced me to this amazing band a year or so ago. I’m happy to see such talent emerging in a time when it seems hard to find. I think I was spoiled after growing up in the 60’s and 70’s when there was so much amazing music available! Great stuff. I’m happy to see them getting more attention on bigger platforms. Well deserved! 🌺✌️
Your daughter turned you on to some great music! Its in both of your genes, i myself grwe up in the 60s, 70s, and this has that vibe to it, music that made you feel good! Aloha from Hawaii
Just saw them live in Vancouver! Was one of the best shows I’ve ever been apart of! Not just seen! This song welcomes everyone to get up and dance. Something we all need more of in this world! If you get eh chance, check them out live! You will not be disappointed people!!!
I think dance with a stranger is my favorite on the album. but I love the whole album and I asked 107.1 to listen and play it and they are playing it in the morning great job............................
I love this band, and am rooting for this song to push them into the next level of success. That said, I’d hate for them to sell out to slick commercialized music.
Hey folks - Omigod, there is a God - see my post above from back in July. They received the nomination I was so keen to see. Lake Street Dive has worked so hard and they are finally getting the recognition they deserve. This made my day. Cheers, Tom Rowe
Indeed. Bridget was inspired to write this song when she attended a square dancing event. BC is classically trained, experienced in jazz and down to Earth.
wow, that was early. I first saw them in that YT video of them singing "I want you back" on the sidewalk. That was probably 2012 or so. Been following them ever since, but have not seen them live yet!
Love this song! The lovingly and people connecting message, the warm and personally appealing voice of Rachael Price, the song's rhythm and the wonderful sound of the band. Can't hear it often enough since I first heard it.
This is the first time I heard of them ,I dont know why. I tthink the singer is magnificent. The whole band is great and I will follow them from now on.Thank you for such beautiful song.
Have been a fan of Rachel and Lake Street dive for many years. I miss the trumpet player / Guitar Player from the old days. I hope he is kicking ass on his own.
Saw them at the Ottawa Jazz Festival on Jun 27. The lead singer has elements in her voice that combine Bonnie Raitt and Amy Winehouse. This band is on fire. Love them. They will be superstars.
Over 15 years ago I was out singing karaoke at my local karaoke bar. Well I was standing at the bar dancing with myself when a very attractive 27ish woman walked up and asked me if I would like to dance, of course this early 50’s guy said yes. We danced about a half dozen songs. I caught the eye of a late 20’s karaoke friend who gave me a WTF look, to which I shrugged I asked the young lady why she picked this old guy when there were lots of guys her age there, she said, “you looked safe”. I wasn’t sure whether to be insulted, or pleased.
Back four months after I first heard this. I just can't get this song out of my head, so darn catchy and I love the entire thing! Great melody, bass line, vocals and just a wonderful groove. And the Tonight Show band jumping in with some vocals and dancing doesn't hurt either. Thanks LSD and hope you have a great tour promoting this new CD!!
Glad to see LSD back on Colbert. I only heard them for the first time a few years ago and have been a fan ever since. I like what I have from the new album so far and look forward to hearing the whole thing.
This will go straight up the the charts. The sensational soulful sound of the beautiful Rachael Price may finally be discovered by the masses. I know her as the daughter of the composer and conductor Tom Price.

Brilliant bass line by Bridget Kearny. Punchy, groovy and full of flavour.
She wrote the song too.
Agree here too! She is a gem, and just love this band. I recently listened to a long interview with Bridget on The Working Songwriter podcast. Was sad when it was done because she's so creative and engaging.
Yes, agreed.
There is a nice balance of the groove riff and second melody like Jameson.
Bridget is 🔥🔥🔥
A huge part of their sound. Love it & them.
Bridget is an absolutely brilliant, groove-gifted musician.

I heard a song on Pandora and thought "Wow!". Been following them ever since. Welcome to the club.
Listen to promises promises on UA-cam. Early stuff that shows their talent for performing live. They throw it down anywhere

I'll be honest, never heard of them but for crying out loud, they sound amazing! I am a new fan for life.
Lots if depth there, check out their earlier albums
They do the theme song for Somebody Feed Phil, the Netflix food travel show created by Phil Rosenthal. One of my all time fav bands.

She's a real good BASS PLAYER! 😎
She also writes most of the songs for the band!
Indeed. Bridget was inspired to write this song when she attended a square dancing event. BC is classically trained, experienced in jazz and down to Earth.
Yep. You should watch her slay on the upright bass.
I can't wait to see them in concert in September!!!!🎉❤
Saw them live at The ‘Vous in TFMA in 2011. They are the real deal and a live spiritual experience.
Forgot they've been around that long. I first heard of them in 2017. Got into them in 2020. Saw them with my wife at Red Rocks in 2022.

Rachel and Bridget are the Jordan/Pippen of pop music. Iconic duo.
Seen them 8 times in concert across a tristate area. Can't wait for the new tour! Album is shaping up to be fab!
They were great in Saratoga Springs. We sat about 15 rows back, looking directly at Bridget. The grooves were great!

Be pleased. It was a HUGE compliment.
When she just wanted to dance and not look like she was flirting.
Def Flattered. She felt safe. That's a big deal for a woman.
They remind me of 70's music.
On point cinematographic foreshadowing with the disco ball shot...
Anytime you want to have them back, please do! Love their energy!!! 🥰
Rachel does an amazing interpretation of this original. Not an easy song to pull off. Outstanding!! Everyone's so happy and beautiful!!
You never disappoint!

And dance it all away
Who wanna be good and love one another
And have big dreams, hard times and like to dance
Look around the room
Find somebody you've never seen before
And lead them out to the dance floor
And dance
Dance with a stranger
Til they're not a stranger anymore
You just dance
Dance with a stranger
Til they're not a stranger
Not a stranger anymore

Find somebody new and then

Oh dance
Dance with a stranger
Til they're not a stranger anymore
You just dance
Dance with a stranger
Til they're not a stranger

Been listening to Lake Street Dive since my last soundbar😉 that i bought years ago. brilliant band, music rocks, that voice is like butter.
Lake Street Dive is so incredibly versatile and talented across the board!
Such a positive wholesome song and band. LSD is pure talent embodied.
I may be dating myself a little bit, but if there was a song that was tailor made for a Soul Train line, it's this one.
Bridget wrote the song and her bass line evokes James Jamerson, the iconic bassist on many recordings from Motown Records.
