I'm a 63 year old fart and am very opinionated about what I think is good music. I 'd thought I'd heard everything until I discovered this band a year ago. I've seen them 3 times live and still find it hard to find words to describe there awesomeness. I wonder why this band hasn't yet been recognized by the Grammys. I guess there's no category for all around Music Excellance. .
Tom Denny I'm a 65 yr old fart, and I couldn't agree with you more. We saw them for the first time 5 or 6 yrs ago in Carrboro, NC at a local watering hole - FOR FREE! Since then they've been on a world tour and are playing tonite in Raleigh. It'll be my 5th time. Gotta love 'em!
''I'm a 63 year old fart and am very opinionated about what I think is good music'' HAHAHA if we could all be this self aware the world would be a better place!
One of the things I loved dearly about my first visit to New Orleans years ago was how music basically permeates the local atmosphere. You could almost hear a pristine clarinet player there as easily as a wild bird, even - and especially - late at night. And I agree, that this cover is strongly evocative of that sound and feeling.
Four people is the perfect number for a band... enough to give sufficient thickness, not so many that any voice is lost in the muddle. I love the soulful jazz of Lake Street Dive. They have paid their dues... I hope they reap a good reward, but even more so, I hope they manage the difficult balancing act of staying friends. Making music with people you love is one of this worlds deepest satisfactions.
I want to make this my ringtone, but all incoming calls would ring out. And every time, I would be more sad the song had stopped than about missing the call.
I just recently discovered these guys through a friend and I have fallen in love immediately. Lucky for me, they are playing a very intimate club near me this spring and I got tickets.
This was a perfect performance. Looked like early in the AM for them. Massive respect for your discipline,, Lake Street Dive. Hope to see you at Red Rocks in CO!!!!
LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE this!!! *THIS* is how a cover is done! You either make a song your own or don't do it at all, and Lake Street Dive has a very distinct sound, thanks to the identifiable voice of the lead singer. I also love how the band is totally vibin' together....really tight. :)
that bassist is solid man. beautiful beautiful voice too. the mix is really harmony heavy, but the performance shines too bright to be killed by poor audio techs.
110%. I actually just recently found out about them and had just got off an Amy Winehouse kick. Heard "Side Pony," and immediately thought she similar to Amy Winehouse. "It's like Amy Winehouse came back from the dead," indeed - and it's exciting, now she's just got a dedicated band.

+MrMilnerboy I'm a 38 yr old fart, and I must concur. Been following this band for years and dying for a chance to see them live.
I like farting and I love this band.
The Grammys are fixed... Winners are predetermined by the record companies

That's actually a 'cajón peruano'. But yeah, he's good.
Best clapper of all bro.
Don't know if I could love a band more.
gotta love Rachel's "woo" when the trumpet player brings his solo full circle.
Daniel Goldman - Her name is spelled Rachael.
I want to make this my ringtone, but all incoming calls would ring out. And every time, I would be more sad the song had stopped than about missing the call.

This group could sing in a phone booth and it would sound good. Rachael Price could sing the phone book and it be amazing.
He plays a twisty free-form solo, she does a little scat singing... so sweet.

Fantastic performance, and such a talented quartet. That Rachael Price is rare.
Too bad the backup vocal mics were mixed so hot.
Little hot, yes.
Rachael is an amazing vocalist. She also several solo jazz albums to her credit beside her work withLSD. The lady can sing👍🙏
I wanna listen to her voice all day every day

Dose any one else hear a touch of Amy Winehouse in her early years
Charlie Wood yes
Charlie Wood Yes indeedy weedy
It's like Amy Winehouse came back from the dead.

Check out their cover of 'I want you back'. Awesome.
I'd sell my soul to Satan for that voice!
AI give me a place where I can like this a billion times.
She came back as a ginger!💃
I wish I had more thumbs. 👍👍👍👍👍
Sweet.
The trumpet reminds me of The Cures Close To Me song
I want to marry Rachel Price
jared bozich Get in line!!
I saw her last night in Milwaukee. It was great.
She'll probably want you to learn to spell her first name correctly though! :o)
+jared bozich I will settle for being Bridget's Stand Up Bass....WOO HOO
+The Stuport I would settle for her playing the bass in the nude on you tube.
These guys are sick. Where did you find that lead?? I think I just found a new band and I like them A LOT!
Totally in love with Rachel
R.I.P. George Michael
All I have to say is she's hot and awesome!!! 👸🏽✌🏼️
Better than the original.
Man!
hmm so good
Aeroplane did a cover of "Faith," too. Signs of a George Michael cover craze? This is one is far superior, by the way. Great band, very much in sync.
