      Have you ever lied? stolen? hated? been prideful? gossiped? swore? Or other bad things? I Can say without a doubt we’ve at least done something that was considered bad, consciously that we shouldn’t have done. this is called sin. It’s the act of doing something against what God wants in our lives.
      Think about this. You have just invited someone over to your house, and that means you can place rules on what they do - because it’s your home! Now lets say this said person directly disobeyed the rules you’ve placed while they were there. you would be offended right?
      This is exactly the situation with us and God. We are the person staying over in His creation, yet we consciously disobey- which is called Sin. We all have this problem and because of this God has to send us to hell because He is so just can’t just let these wrong doings pass. Think of it as a guilty criminal having to be sentenced to jail because the Judge knows it’s right. We are the guilty criminal. Hell is our punishment. And God is that Judge.
      Well, this would mean that everyone would go to hell because we’ve all committed sin-disobedience from God, consciously. But here’s the good news. Jesus came to die on the cross, taking our punishment upon Himself, for our sins so we don’t need to go to hell. Think of that same analogy with the criminal. Now there is a person that’s willing to bail that criminal out and if that criminal accept that gift of bail, then they will be able to legally be free.
      If we accept that, Jesus died on the cross for our sins and repent- turn away from sin-then we will be saved because we take His bail that He offers for free so we can go to heaven.

      I’m taking it as a sophomore and I’m being completely honest when I say this is the easiest class of my life. My teacher is amazing, he gives us daily assignments which take around a class period to complete (45ish minutes), and we have discussions. Whenever he introduces a new topic we have a Cornell notes day, where he lectures us. We also have weekly assignments: every other week we have a chapter notes assignment where we read a chapter and answer questions in 5-7 sentence paragraphs, and every other week we write an essay that uses a prompt from an AP exam. On paper it can seem like a lot of work but it really is manageable. We had a midterm practice AP exam a month or so ago and I got a 5 😊. I can say with confidence that I very much enjoy this class and I have a strong social life as well. AP Seminar on the other hand……… 🪦

    Honestly, I strongly agree with you on the CSA aspect. For some reason, the course expects students to already know a large portion of the content, which really creates a big divide between new coming students and those that have been studying for years. For example, the recent CSA AP exam for 2023 had quite possibly one of the hardest questions for the Free Response portion, however, for students that have studied for a while and had a bit more experience with methods not even taught in the curriculum, it was a lot easier. It is also a big contributing factor to why a lot of people score well - they already know what they're doing even before taking the course. I wish not to discourage anyone looking to take the class, don't get me wrong, it's an excellent class with a lot of crucial content for anyone looking to get into CS, however, be prepared to do a bit extra work out of class if you are not ALREADY familiar with Java as a language.

    AP Bio is the only AP class that I thought I’d love the most, so I took it as my very first AP class. I loved the material, especially the units on genetics, but the teacher started to become a main problem for me the closer we got to exam day. Don’t get me wrong, I like my AP Bio teacher. I think their funny, quirky, and make the topic more entertaining. However, they’re very forgetful and usually plans what’s going to be taught the day before. Additionally, they’re bad at publishing the material online for people who were absent. My grade definitely dropped some percentiles because I was absent and finally got the notes and worksheets a week later (I sent her an email the day I was absent and she promised she would published them and didn’t 😢). We have no time in class to study for the exam, beside an FRQ practice, so we have to do it on our own time outside of school. I don’t feel ready for the exam and take it in 4 days. I think I’ll get a three, but I hope for something higher. I’m glad AP Bio is on the top of your list, but I believe some of my future AP classes will outrank it for me, even though I love genetics so much.

    If I could go back to back to HS and take AP courses (I only took 1 AP class in HS, AP Statistics), I'd take AP Calc AB (unless engineering or medicine), (1 of 2) AP World History or AP US History, (1 of 2) AP Chem or AP Physics (Any of them), AP Biology - then if your are a business or accounting major or economics major, I'd recommend the AP economics exams and the AP Statistics exam (Econ and stats not required for other majors). If you are an engineering or medicine major take the both AP Physics C and AP Chemistry, Calc BC. Do not take AP English - the college course is easier than the exam. This will save you tons of tuition money and you'll basically be through a 1-2 semester's worth of classes and save money. Some colleges do not require foreign language study. Even if you do bad on AP exam - you'll get a second chance to better in college but will cost you $$$ and time. I was a business accounting major but went to college as an engineering/physical science/undecided. Also it's better to cut AP history exams and AP biology exam because the other classes are often pre-reqs to more advanced courses and the college class is most likely easier than the AP exam (unless you go to a college that's really competitive). Also the more prestigious university you go to, classes become more difficult. Also consider AP English if you are naturally good at English class, and don't want to take it again in college/save money. But I'd focus on the 4 exams, 1 Calculus, 1 Physical Science, 1 Biology, 1 History. Also the college history classes are often easier than the AP exam but the AP exam usually gets counted as 2 courses. I'd also recommend good students consider less prestigious universities that offer financial aid (major in engineering or accounting for job offers). The less prestigious schools have worse career services so having a marketable skill is more important (and bigger curves on exams).

      Is BC better than AB for engineering? Or can I still take AB?

    • @user-rf1nn8sg3f
      @user-rf1nn8sg3f Рік тому +1

      @@polar8577 Depends on how hard you are willing to work. They are both great for engineering. AB is one semester of college calculus, BC is two. BC has about twice the content as AB. Almost all engineering majors need 3 calculus classes. So if you pass BC - you'll still need one more semester in college. If you take AB (and pass), you'll need two more calculus classes in college. 2 semesters worth of Physics is also required of all engineering majors - might as well take both if you can handle it. It's better to do well though, than take more classes then you can handle. Colleges will require the calculus based physics for engineering. If you take AB and the calculus based physics class - you'll be ahead of most of your peers. If you take BC and the 2 AP physics exams that are calculus based, you'll almost be a Sophmore in college. Also remember if you fail in HS, it's okay, but you'll have to retake it again in college. If you play sports, do band, work, or do other extracurriuclar stuff - you're probably best off doing AB and one AP Physics exam. If you are sure about being an Engineering major - don't take other AP exams. The classes in college are often easier than the AP exam (especially history and English). Quality is better than quantity though. If you think you can only hand Calc AB and not physics, just take calculus AB. Whichever classes you take, work as hard as you can to master the material. You don't want to be the guy in Electricity/Magnetism that doesn't understand kinematics (motion) well. You don't want to be learning integrals without having mastered algebra/geometry/derivatives (introductory calculus). AB and BC will both help you as an Engineering major.

I'm aware that some schools participate in collegeboards score choice program, but even with that in mind, when I plug in the singular score I wish to submit on the common app, on the page where they summarize what you've completed, they put that 1 score under the title of "number of past SATs taken."
