    Micheal, I'm a brown legacy from a san diego schedule 1 school, but Ive really only done robotics for 4 years, other ECs like sailing or tennis I left because I really just didnt fit in, is there any way to try and avoid EC's perhaps?

    Do you think you absolutely need to do a sport to get into an Ivy League? I’m not the sportiest person and despise sports is there any way I can substitute sports for an art or music activity in which I go above and beyond?

    • @michaelisonyoutube
      @michaelisonyoutube  Рік тому +5

      I don’t think it’s necessary. I listed it as an activity because I did it for so long, but I would not think they took my sport participation into great consideration

      @@LMX_Edits I'll also chime in as someone who got into Brown for RD this year. I did like no sports at all and I got in lol, so sports aren't that important as long as you have other activities that make up for it!

    Nice video! A lot of my extracurriculars and awards revolve around performing arts, yet I want to pursue engineering in the future, not performing arts. As a rising junior, do you think my "spike" will play a pivotal role in applications as I start building my resume around the engineering field this late?

      Hey I can relate. Most of my extracurriculars are in the creative writing field yet I wanna pursue engineering so I am kinda worried about it .

    I have a question. Why did you take that many aps senior year? I can't even imagine doing 8.

    • @michaelisonyoutube
      @michaelisonyoutube  Рік тому +2

      I saw it as a challenge! Looking back 8 was definitely a lot, and I probably would have not taken 1 or 2 so I could have a lunch break, but they are not that difficult depending on the class. I only ended up taking 4 of those 8 AP exams, and in hindsight, taking more than 4 exams would have been very challenging.

      @@michaelisonyoutube I want to get into an Ivy League college for medschool but my school does not allow for someone to take nearly that many aps. I can take a maximum of 2 junior year and another 5-6 senior. I am a freshman right now.

      @@yeetyeet4479 there may be exceptions if you ask your guidance counselor. If not, it shouldn’t matter since I believe universities compare students against those attending the same high school and then locally, etc.
