The sad thing is that this is pretty much how it is. You can’t win in top tier classes. There’s two things up for being sacrificed. Your title or your health. I personally plan on sacrificing my title. I won’t let school get in the way of the things that matter anymore. What good is an Ivy League college if you completely lose sight of who you are, your health, and the people around you? It isn’t any good.
As someone who takes a good amount of AP classes, the work that the teachers are giving him is unrealistic and is probably there just for dramatic effect You’re welcome, freshmen
Just finished my last AP exam today and last day of high school. It was pretty nice understanding all of this mumbo jumbo. If you stay on top of things and take a study hall, you'll be fine. But it was pretty funny to watch
In Louisville, Catholic High schools just graduate a few weeks earlier than public schools. Seniors had a set graduation day of May 18th, and the last week of AP exams and regular senior exams happen on the same week. Just kind of how things are run here. Public schools and Catholic grade schools don't get out until the first week of June or the last week of May
We had a bunch of snow days for it being 10 below zero the entire first week back in January. The Seniors only had to make up one day because of the set schedule. Plus, we get out for the Kentucky Derby and Oaks Day, along with Spring Break, so they wouldn't dare touch those days. Good luck though, hang in there and keep your focus. I definitely don't regret holding focus through exams and tests.
Avantes - ap chem is fine man. I’m pretty average on IQ and I have really bad study habits and I still got an A both quarters and definitely passed the ap test. I feel like most people just make ap chem out to be an impossible class when it’s really easier than ap English.
AP classes depend on the teacher you get and how they teach the class. My school is really good with APs and for harder classes they break it up into a class that teaches the foundations and then the second semester they focus on building concepts and labs and it helps spread out homework and makes everything really manageable and people usually make much higher exam scores. But if you get a class with a bad teacher that teaches out of a textbook run for your life.
Only type of help I could give for taking a big load of AP classes is that before you actually take them, just breeze over the new material during the summer ( yeah eww school over the summer, but it gets the job done) and previous ones before it. That's how me and my friends got 4 and 5s on our cal test and physics c.
I have AP English 3 and i can tell you in my school, the class is better than what English Honors is portrayed as in here lmao. In our class, we do only 2 essays I'd say like 2-3 times a week. It's usually Rhetorical Analysis essays and it's not as bad as some may think. You just need to be a quick thinker cause we get 40 mins for each so you have to be able to recognize forms of speech, different structures, the writer's thesis, etc.
Avery Benson I disagree, I had 6 AP classes as a junior(Chem, Lang, Calc AB, APUSH, Computer Science, Physcology) and had only like an hour or two of hw per day since I don't procrastinate, Also I passed each AP Test with at least a 4. Was it more work than other kids, sure, but this is unbelievably exaggerated. Sleep, Good Grades, Social life, you can have all three in high school. It's not like we're in college as Engineering majors. I mean there's sports and clubs too, but I know many people who have 3+ AP and play a sport too. Also you don't have to get an A+ in every class either, unless you think not getting into Princeton is the end of the world. Maybe it's just the Souther California school system, but AP Classes are bitching. Final thing: UC Berkeley( Or for those outside of Cali "Cal") represent.
lol imagine being allowed to take this many AP classes. also imagine having half of these classes as AP. ps: i live in southern VA and we only have around 10 AP classes we can regularly choose from
The amount of aging on this is insane. So much has improved in the public’s ability to film and understand quality videography, pacing, editing, audio, ect. It’s all moving at an ever increasing rate
You are a junior, and that is the hardest year. When you take these many APs, you are going to feel stressed out because you also have to worry about SAT, ACT, etc. When you take these many APs senior year, there is nothing else to worry about (except college applications). You have a lot more time to do more AP classes senior year than junior year.
This is why I stuck with the study’s and then the Studies I stayed all the AP classes of the week then I was getting exhausted then socialized my schedule is complete I literally can study every AP exam test AP Chemistry AP English Language Arts AP Spanish AP Statistics AP Biology AP Calculus AP Foundation I AP Mathematics Geometry AP World History US History Psychology Environment Science And everything all of the above
@@ratikkasarla244I'm taking the IB program and I hope next year I get accepted into a University level STEM program, but anyways I'm taking MYP History, English, Algebra 2 Ext(Which is basically Algebra 2/Trigonometry) and IB chemistry SL.
@@ratikkasarla244 Okay, I found out that the STEM program takes about half your school time which means, I can only do 2-4 AP/IB classes. I will probably do IB psych and English. What do you to get A's in those classes(AP Psych and AP Lang.).
I'm taking AP Calc AB, AP Physics, AP U.S. History, AP English III and AP Spanish V. The workload is definitely there and I don't always get as much sleep as I want. I just can't wait to take these exams in May.
I just signed up for 5 AP exams and I'm really dreading the first two weeks of May! But, on the bright side, this is my fourth and final year of taking AP classes! :)
RIP overextended AP student: Died in car crash due to sleep deprivation. Some people can handle that kind of workload. Personally, I am taking 3 AP classes this (Senior) year and am getting A's in Spanish and Chemistry and A's or B's in Physics. I couldn't possibly handle much more than that, though. Other people can't do that, either because they are busier outside of school or simply can't deal with the workload for a number of other reasons.
Too late. I already did the AP exam for chem. Literally, I looked up 10 minutes after the test started and most people's heads were down!!! They didn't even try!!!! sidenote: The AP chem exam wasn't as hard as I thought. I just didn't know the content is all. Just worry about getting a good grade in the class, because it can really mess up your GPA.
So I'm taking: AP Chemistry AP Lang/Comp AP US History And on top of that I have dance classes on Mondays and Thursdays at 4-8 or 9 pm And I'm a football manager for my school and we have practices from 2:40-5:30 or 6 ish And I work a 4 hour shift 2 times a week. Its the worst having AP CLASSES. BUT ITS SO SO SO WORTH IT
This brings back some bad memories 😂 my friend and I would come to school each day bragging about the whole three hours of sleep we got the night before.
No, you just got to get used to it. I took 1 AP class (AP Human) in Freshman year and got a 5 on the exam. I took AP Spanish and AP World in 10th grade, both of them 5's. AP Calculus BC, APUSH, AP Spanish, and AP Chemistry in Junior. Three 5's and one 4. I'm going to be taking AP Statistics, AP European History, AP Biology, AP Spanish and AP French in Senior. In all 3 years before I still finished my homework by around 9:30 and was able to watch and hour of anime before I went to bed. During April and May I watched an hour of Game of Thrones before I went to bed. AP classes aren't too hard, you just gotta keep up with the pace
My school's current policy on AP classes You can't drop them after the first week. if you insist on dropping them, your grade is recorded as an F on your transcript.
I'm a junior.. I'm taking AP English, AP US History, AP Physics, and Pre-AP Algebra 2. Along side I take Anatomy & Physiology and ECA (Emergency Care Atten.) PLUS I am in band. I DO NOT get sleep. If you are wanting a smooth year, free of frustration and alongside extra curricular, then DO NOT take all AP! Someone below exclaimed that 2 AP classes is a healthy amount.. this is true.
I'm taking three next year as a junior: AP Calculus 1 (I have no choice but to take this), AP Chem or Bio (have not decided), and AP Computer science. I have not decided if I want to take AP Rhetoric or just English 3 Honors. I went easy on myself this year as a sophomore for only taking 3 Honors classes as well as drama instead of some class that will give me extra homework, LOL.
kenny kim Whoa! I dream of getting in to UCLA. Did you have impressive ECs? I don't, so I am really afraid it's going to hurt my chances. My grades aren't too brilliant, either.
ofowlsandcities Actually, my GPA was 3.5 which is not good at all. UCLA and bunch of other colleges love Students grade improving. my was a 3.5 b/c I did horrible Freshman and sophomore year and did well after that. Colleges love the improvements, it shows I can keep going on and do well in College. So you need to show them how you are going to "Survive" or "Finish" College. SAT, I send in all 3 SAT scores, even though people send in their "BEST" score, b/c I wanted to show them my improvement and capability that I am strong. First SAT 1400. Last SAT 2010 These Scores and grades are not good, but showing that I have strong capability that I can improve is a key factor. I did not really do alot of EC but I did alot of band stuff. but EC can help you alot. Add me on Google+ or gmail for anymore Q's, I am a Junior at UCLA

My APUSH teacher legit gave us 20 pages to read in the textbook and take notes on on the first day of school no joke 😂, just took the AP test today and hopefully it all was worth it
I failed my test fs, wrote random stuff on the LEQ
Taking chem honors and AP bio, getting A's and happy I'm taking them at the same time because biology and chemistry go really well together in my sophomore year.
Sebastian Hoang same. Next year is AP Chem for me
Sebastian Hoang I'm in my junior year and taking AP bio. I miss honors chemistry, it was my favorite class during my sophomore year 😢
AP Bio easy af it’s AP Lang that’s killing me
@@aashrithmadagiri6711 what’s hard abt ap lang? i’m taking it next yr
@@zeromika9461 tbh for me it was rly easy
Guys, he graduated from Cal Poly and is now a consultant.
Thank god I'm just taking 3 ap classes .....
That will be me next year...I'll take AP Lang(although my friend warned me that it's a nightmare) APUSH & AP Human Geo.
c4987 Yep, I'll be taking Phys 1, Lang. and Comp and U.S. History.
Rachael Sampson Next year I'll be taking AP Spanish, AP Physics 1, and AP U.S Government.
How did taking 3 ap classes work out for you guys
Fine, even with procrastination.
so many overachievers in the comment section
11 years later and this is still 100% true
This is easy. Back in my AP classes they were either due in class or due 11:59 PM online or else 70 for day late.
This was made in 2009. It’s 2019.
2022 haahaa
:")
2024 now
When I saw the mom open the door for Friday, I actually thought she was going to say, "Oh I'm sorry. My son is in the hospital right now."
Me seeing that AP tests are online and open note: 7:28
Me seeing that they want me to do half the alphabet in parts in 20 minutes: 7:53
Oh hey, an average student taking average classes passing by....
Everyone at my school... I'm self-teaching myself...
Normie
As someone who takes a good amount of AP classes, the work that the teachers are giving him is unrealistic and is probably there just for dramatic effect
You’re welcome, freshmen
AP chem is hard
Yeah don't take AP Chem
Just don’t lol
@@richiebiscuits476 not that bad if you put the time and effort and use different studying methods. At least, in my opinion.
Thanks bro
Just finished my last AP exam today and last day of high school. It was pretty nice understanding all of this mumbo jumbo. If you stay on top of things and take a study hall, you'll be fine. But it was pretty funny to watch
Why do you guys get out in May?
In Louisville, Catholic High schools just graduate a few weeks earlier than public schools. Seniors had a set graduation day of May 18th, and the last week of AP exams and regular senior exams happen on the same week. Just kind of how things are run here. Public schools and Catholic grade schools don't get out until the first week of June or the last week of May
Oh, thanks. That explains things. Cali schools dont get out until June 13th, even though our weather is pretty damn terrible in the South Desert area.
Funny thing about that, mate, is that most of us have already finished both the AP exams and finals, so its just extra weeks of essentially filler.
It's funny how I just got recommended this 3 days before I have to take my first ap exam
3:03 wait... WHAT?!?!?! Did he just say NEUTRAL?! for a DBQ?!?!?!
Toto... We're not in biased POV anymore...
Emme T Lord have mercy.
1:46 ,thats pre-cal not calc.
Ikr... Use fancy terminology to intimiade freshmen, but when u cover the stuff u laugh and realize its not that hard
Honestly though screw ap chem and lang
Avantes - ap chem is fine man. I’m pretty average on IQ and I have really bad study habits and I still got an A both quarters and definitely passed the ap test. I feel like most people just make ap chem out to be an impossible class when it’s really easier than ap English.
GreenPigKing HO? Ap English is easy af compared to Chem
GreenPigKing Haven’t heard anyone say it better👍🏻
Screw lang.
Chem was OK.
13 years later and still accurate af to this day
i really should be studying for apush right now.
AP ART. What the fuck
Starvin_Marv exactly
I love how AP teachers expect us to be superhuman and do every assignment they throw at us.
i much rather take an ap class than a regular class
Fails every single AP Exam*
This video ages better every year.
Only type of help I could give for taking a big load of AP classes is that before you actually take them, just breeze over the new material during the summer ( yeah eww school over the summer, but it gets the job done) and previous ones before it. That's how me and my friends got 4 and 5s on our cal test and physics c.
Wasn't expecting to get recommended this in 2024 but lmao still relatable.
I have AP English 3 and i can tell you in my school, the class is better than what English Honors is portrayed as in here lmao. In our class, we do only 2 essays I'd say like 2-3 times a week. It's usually Rhetorical Analysis essays and it's not as bad as some may think. You just need to be a quick thinker cause we get 40 mins for each so you have to be able to recognize forms of speech, different structures, the writer's thesis, etc.
dude when I saw him pull out that home phone i thought it was an ironic joke and then i realized the video was actually made in 2009 lol
Relatable af. Anyone who disagrees is a freaking pleb
Avery Benson ez
This was recommended to me when I take AP Lang and I have a Great Gatsby research essay due on Wednesday that I haven’t started. Amazing!
lol imagine being allowed to take this many AP classes. also imagine having half of these classes as AP.
ps: i live in southern VA and we only have around 10 AP classes we can regularly choose from
The amount of aging on this is insane.
That is why you do SAT/ACTs in sophomore year
This is why I stuck with the study’s and then the Studies I stayed all the AP classes of the week then I was getting exhausted then socialized my schedule is complete I literally can study every AP exam test
AP Chemistry
AP English Language Arts
AP Spanish
AP Statistics
AP Biology
AP Calculus
AP Foundation I
AP Mathematics
Geometry
AP World History
US History
Psychology
Environment Science
And everything all of the above
11 years later, still accurate
The funny thing is, being in some of these classes this work doesn’t even sound unreasonable
watching this as a junior doing 5 APs
I'm 15 years old, what AP classes are you taking?
@@CarlosLemus2008 APUSH, AP Lang, AP Psych, APES, & AP Bio. Wbu?
@@ratikkasarla244I'm taking the IB program and I hope next year I get accepted into a University level STEM program, but anyways I'm taking MYP History, English, Algebra 2 Ext(Which is basically Algebra 2/Trigonometry) and IB chemistry SL.
@@CarlosLemus2008 oh nice. gl!
@@ratikkasarla244 Okay, I found out that the STEM program takes about half your school time which means, I can only do 2-4 AP/IB classes. I will probably do IB psych and English. What do you to get A's in those classes(AP Psych and AP Lang.).
7:43 - 7:45: No more homework! I’m free!
Summer Homework: Well then, tsk I have some bad news for you
IB student: That's cute.
honestly IB seems easier to me
it's actually the amount of work that ticks me off, the materials and topics are fine.
Indian Student:- You're all so cute....
eashan das I don't need a decent job to be happy.
Marcel Lemon
I'm taking AP Calc AB, AP Physics, AP U.S. History, AP English III and AP Spanish V. The workload is definitely there and I don't always get as much sleep as I want. I just can't wait to take these exams in May.
AP was designed for people to take about 2-3 courses. Hats off to people taking 4+.
I just signed up for 5 AP exams and I'm really dreading the first two weeks of May! But, on the bright side, this is my fourth and final year of taking AP classes! :)
I took all AP sophomore to senior with top 10, now I’m at USC it all pays it off when you do the demanding work.
The amount of effort into this video is amazing
1:47 thats a precalculus text book
Taking AP Lang, AP Calc AB, and AP Phys 1 this year and it feels exactly like this video ngl
So scared for next year (Jr)
Im taking:
Ap gov
Ap lit
Ap art history flex
Ap pysch flex
Ap enviro
Spanish 3
My math
Is it sad how accurate this is? I only took 3 APs last year and it felt pretty much like this
As a junior about to finish junior year with 5 AP tests, this is 102% accurate
This came up in my recommended. Loved it
RIP overextended AP student: Died in car crash due to sleep deprivation.
Dude, that's crazy that you actually took all of those AP classes. I'm impressed, but I also feel sorry for you.
I have AP chem, AP US history, AP Environmental Science, and AP Lang
I would not suggest taking AP chem if you want to live.........
....oops...
oops
BC1GIRL it messed up mine I did no work 😂😂😂😂
BC1GIRL did decent on years but he gives so much assignments they overpower tests:(
it’s gold 12 years later
So I'm taking:
AP Chemistry
AP Lang/Comp
AP US History
And on top of that I have dance classes on Mondays and Thursdays at 4-8 or 9 pm
And I'm a football manager for my school and we have practices from 2:40-5:30 or 6 ish
And I work a 4 hour shift 2 times a week.
Its the worst having AP CLASSES. BUT ITS SO SO SO WORTH IT
Vania Ioane lang/comp is a bitch. however, you needn't worry about the rest
+Liam McCluskey lol ap chemistry and ap us history are both super loaded classes when it comes to the workload.
Vania Ioane it's only worth it if u get credit by passing the test lmao
dance classs is tough, but with ap classes?!? Did you drop out of any? ( i know i am 2 years late *facepalm* )
Ten years later and it’s still so accurate 😂
APush and AP English and AP chemistry kill me now
I’m in 10th grade now, I only have AP World His., but I’m thinking about stepping it up next year with 6 APs....
Better get all 5's and a Harvard scholarship with that much effort.
That ringtone was a nostalgia nuke directly to my brain.
I would have dropped every single AP class if that was me in the end.
My school's current policy on AP classes
You can't drop them after the first week.
if you insist on dropping them, your grade is recorded as an F on your transcript.
*walks into class*
"You're 3 subjects and a book behind!"
Calculus BC ~ throws down pre-calculus textbook
love this in my recommended after my ap bio disaster :)
I wish I could take AP art... art class always never felt like a class for me and its my motivation to go to school every day Haha
Me watching this as a sophomore in the middle of summer: is this a sign from the UA-cam god?
I'm a junior..
I'm taking AP English, AP US History, AP Physics, and Pre-AP Algebra 2.
Along side I take Anatomy & Physiology and ECA (Emergency Care Atten.)
PLUS I am in band.
Lol, I remember High schools years.
I only took 2 AP classes ^^. but I still somehow got into UCLA.
kenny kim Whoa! I dream of getting in to UCLA. Did you have impressive ECs? I don't, so I am really afraid it's going to hurt my chances. My grades aren't too brilliant, either.
ofowlsandcities Actually, my GPA was 3.5 which is not good at all.
UCLA and bunch of other colleges love Students grade improving. my was a 3.5
b/c I did horrible Freshman and sophomore year and did well after that.
Last SAT 2010
These Scores and grades are not good, but showing that I have strong capability that I can improve is a key factor.
I did not really do alot of EC but I did alot of band stuff. but EC can help you alot.
Add me on Google+ or gmail for anymore Q's, I am a Junior at UCLA
kenny kim I accidentally sent you a hangout through my friends account, so ignore that please. LOL. So if you received something then that was me. I also DMed you with my account.
“AP chemistry..:”
Me: let me stop u right there my guy, suicide is not the answer.
uh why is this in my recommended at the end of 2019
Thanks for bringing light to this.
For my Junior Year I'm going to take:
AP Language and Composition
AP European History
AP Chemistry
AP Physics B
Pre-AP Pre-Calculus with Trigonometry
Pre-AP French 2
I know this is a work load, but I'm totes ready to do all this! Woo!
Well at my school you can take as much APs as you want , because we have 6 periods.
Evanescence _Fan24 At our school we have an 8 period day...But I only have 5 periods and then I come home and I have homeschooling to do. I guess that's the life of a high school nursing student :l.
Darn I can imagine how that's like. :(
Evanescence _Fan24 It's not easy I'll tell you that. But I do the best I can. I have a 3.8 GPA so I'm doing something right. I also take music classes as well :)
Well that's good! And congratulations keep up that GPA!!! Also what kind of music classes are you taking? :D
Im watching this as I procrastinate my AP Lang essays ;-;
