Have an entirely different agenda, but planning to use a GoPro and a new Zoom or something similar, and nice to see how you pulled it all together. Nice video brotha.
Your video just popped outta nowhere and I am grateful it did. I'm shooting a test ride on January 21st on a 2022 R1. Now I know which settings are better for the experience. Instant follow. Great video. Keep it up man 🙏👊😎
Really great tutorial , I would suggest recording on 24bit, and checking the levels of the recorder to not clipping because once its clipped you cant save the sound afterwards. Much love
Hey man nice video. I do have the h1n and still doing a great job recording. Where do you place your recorder btw? under the seat? or in a backpack? Keep on making videos mate.
Thank you for making this video, exactly what I’m looking for. All other youtubers are like promoting osmo5 pro, dji mic blah blah, a setup the terrified the newbie’s and hell of expensive. I’m going to try it with my insta 360 with single lens mode. One question: is there any way we can remotely on off the zoom recorder. I don’t want to stop my ride for play pause show!! Right now: i mount my insta 360 to handler and put zoom in bag pack, when i need the video i just have to click the insta button. Did you knew any way to do it?
Great video! However, I'm curious why you're using Media Mode with your GoPro in your helmet, given that you already have an external H2N audio recorder.
Great tutorial! One of the most comprehensive I've found :) I believe the H2N has an audio-out jack? I've wondered if wiring it into the GoPro's mic port would be worth it at all?
I am sure you can wire in but I just hate having wires. I have seen a guy crashing on a corner because the cable flapped around and got stuck in his handle bar. So I don’t take any chance with that.
@@brownyonwheels I might test it to see how it works with quality but I imagine that it'll be better independent and just completely nulling the GoPro's audio. If I do, the wire will be threaded up through the jacket so that it can't flap anywhere. Shall see, gotta get the mic first.
@@MotonekoRides I just bought the media mod and the 3.5 cables with this same zoom set up, will test this weekend if wired works. I tried but syncing and editing was a pain for me because of a low performance laptop. Will test and let you know
Hey, thank you for this 🙏🏻 very useful, already tested both of them and got pretty good results, just need to adjust a little bit through extra testing. Any advice for night rides?
Got the same setup and followed your steps. Audio is fine but the video tends to be a bit grainy and the lighter parts are very bright. Last time I used an ND16 filter. Will try with the ND32 next. Any tips on how to tackle the sharpness? Increase shutter speed?
Increasing shutter will loose the motion blur. If you want sharpness you can up in go pro. Also record in 4k may be? What GoPro ? Grainy video is likely cause your iso is too high.
Great. What if one has edited video and audio is same length? And how to insert or replace zoom audio with GoPro audio. So that when I edit visual..audio also gets edited same time..?
Not sure if I got your question. But I'll try. Please correct me. You can unlink the audio from go pro. That will give you the freedom of cutting the audio and shifting it around, mute or play it how you like.
Best practice is to let the video and audio just record and then clip in editing. If you want to do multiple clips. You will just need to start and stop the recorders. No way around it. What I would advice is to make callouts. Like, Recording 1 (clap clap clap) Recording 2 (clap clap clap) etc.
@@brownyonwheels I figure it out. I let Gopro and audio recorder record the whole time im riding. In post the clips are split but i just line up the audio manually. Your answer is still valid though. Thank you!
@@brownyonwheels Thanks for the reply. I was planning on "hiding" the cable under the seat and up to my tail bag / under seat compartment. I am using chest mount so the cable will not be so much in the way I think
You don’t have to. I upgraded because I could and also h2n have different pattern + mic you can choose to record with. Unlike h1n that needs to be placed In a certain direction to pick up the exhaust sound nicely. H2n is bit more versatile. But you don’t have to have h2n. H1n will do the job.
I put rode wireless go 2 in my backpack to record the exhaust sound. -30 gain setting but the sound still explodes and crackles (mt-09 akrapovic) Do you have any advice?
Rode aren’t meant to handle high bitrate to recover peaks. They are for made for interviews, voiceovers etc. you will need something like h1n or h2n. I use rode wireless go 2 for videos etc but not for exhaust sound.
@@RenkliPijama you don’t need h4n. It’s huge and not really portable. You will need a backpack to carry it. The form and size factor of h2n is perfect. H4n is over kill. I have zoom h6n that I barely ever use.
I've tried every backpack, waistpack and fanny pack I own and I still can't get rid of wind noise. I managed to get rid of the noise the mic makes when moving around by stuffing cloths inside, but wind noise is still the killer even going at 20mph. Any ideas?
@@brownyonwheels Yeah that's what I do, plus I'm a big boy so you would think there would be more cover from the wind but i guess not. will have to play around more.
@@FatBiscuitYT have you tried turning it on and off again, kidding 😂. But try wrapping your recorder in a fur sleeve or something ? What mic you are using ? Can you change the polarity of the mic to only record the back facing sound ?
@@brownyonwheels Yes, same mic H2N, and I use a windscreen muff from Amazon. Then wrap the mic with microfibre cloths to stop it from moving around. It's only wind noise I get nothing else. I use the same settings as you and face it the same way,
