Hey, fre secret. Don't tell the girls or they will kill me. Lol Apply light baby powder on the area you will be using Toppik. Rub it in a little (enough where you can barely see it) THEN use Toppix. When any hair is growing or moving on exposed skin or scalp (or anywhere), when the other hairs and fibers are moving, it causes itching. The baby powder stops that effect. It even works with weaves. I hate it when I get a haircut and the barber pulls out the Toppik container because they made a mistake. I like to wash my hair right after I get a haircut so my head feels clean without worrying that I might lose a patch of hair because I forgot I had on some hair fibers on my head.
My problem with the tap-and-pull is that if you have any oil or pomade or whatever on your head, it'll start gumming up your dispenser and you'll have to keep clearing it.
#6 thing to avoid. If you use Toppik regularly, do not wash the fibers down your shower/bathtub drain. Over time it lays in the drain and clogs the pipes up.
@@sylvia6959 , I've found that over time it clogs the bathtub drain...it takes quite awhile for that to happen though. I have one of those shower heads that you can take off it's attachment. I place a plastic pail/container in the tub close to the faucets. I get down on my knees outside the tub and stick my head in and rinse off the toppik into the pail/container before I shower. You could also just stick your head under the faucets to rinse it off as long as you can fit a container under your head. Then I place the container outside the tub before I shower. Eventually I empty that container outside somewhere...don't pour it down the drain.
I actually use gel I just let it dry out first for an hour then I uapply the firbers on top top and use some stiff spray not to much very littleso it can look natural
Won’t the stiff spray mess with your hairline overtime. And what type of gel you use. I’ve been using vitamin E oil and coconut oil grease on my head before toppik and it sticks pretty well
I used too much Toppik, and it gave my thinning area too much density. It doesn't match the thick hair in the back. I end up looking like I have thick hair on top, and thin hair on the sides and back. It looks like male pattern baldness but in reverse because it gets too dense on top. If you make a mistake when using topic, you don't get to start over unless until after you've washed your hair.
Thanks for the tip!.. I've never used hair fibers, but am considering it due to having generally fine hair that's thinned a bit up front.. I'd imagine there is a bit of a learning curve as I've seen people with the stuff caked on so thick that it's obvious!..
I have good news. My mistake with Toppik was that I used the wrong color. I stopped using dark brown, and started using medium brown instead, and it does wonders to conceal diffuse thinning. It's important to use the right color of Toppik. What's even better is that my pharmaceutical treatments are going well. I was able to get back some of my thickness by using dutasteride and oral minoxidil. I don't have to use as much Toppik as I did a few months ago. Sometimes I go out in public without any Toppik because the drugs helped a lot with my density.
I've just been talking about this stuff. I have alopecia, but luckily my bold patches are underneath so you can only see it when it's windy or if I move my head around too much, so it doesn't bother me. I'm Asthmatic,so I won't be using this product, not just the hair fibres upsetting me, but if it has a smell it also affect my asthma, plus I have really sensitive skin so I'll be itching non stop. When I have more hair loss I may get a wig. They're made SO much better nowadays, don't fall off ,or slip around like they used to do. The bad thing though is the cleaning, I'm not sure if the product to clean them will upset my skin or Asthma. Also you can get very hot wearing one too. Pity we can't all except eachother more, except we can be bold, both men & women. This product seems an awful lot of wasted expense to me , but that's just my opinion, if others think it's worth the sacrifices of not scratching, etc etc, then you go for it. I have found that spraying the fibers immediately after has helped tremendously. I part my hair, put fibers, spray and let dry. Then go to next part. Helps the fibers last for days as well as with rubbing off on my pillow.

But if it gets in our lungs accidentally , or if i gets inside our lungs. will it cause any issue ?? i mean any disease . Is it okay to use on a windy day? If you use toppik + hairspray? Also, do you think the hairspray will stop it from sticking to your beanie. Cause I usually wear a beanie.. Loosely though, not tight to my crown.
Yes toppik and hairspray endures quite a lot. I have had sex, sit in the sauna (dry sauna, not wet) etc and it's fine. As long as you are aware of the weather and won't be walking through a downpour it will be fine. You can carry an umbrella, and keep a touchup bottle in your bag with a mirror, but i haven't even needed to do that.
Personally, I prefer Toppik because it holds better in sweat and heat than Caboki. But caboki is a great product as well. All of the brand name hair fibers are safe to use. Thank you for your question, Suresh. -DJ

Misty, thank you for watching and for your questions. There are no ingredients in neither Toppik, nor Caboki that will make you lose hair. There are, however, imitation products that look almost identical to the authentic product. There have been people who experienced skin irritation, rashes, and even hair shedding from using the fake products. As for sleeping and wearing them for a long period, until my daughter as born, I would wearing Toppik hair fibers for 2-3 days at a time with zero issues and kept this up for over 3 years. I will say that the fibers can make your scalp quite itchy by the 3rd day, though. If you choose to sleep with them in, I recommend buying a silk sleeping cap or at least a shower cap to protect your pillow and help keep the fibers in place. I hope this helps! -DJ

If you’re just walking to your car or in a lights drizzle, there is no issue at all. Even a short time in heavy rain is okay. Just to be sure though, bring the canister with you and touch up in the bathroom if need be. -DJ
Hi Hirukjo, that’s a good question; thanks for asking. I generally don’t swim in pools. But I do surf. When I go surfing, I don’t wear hair fibers. I actually just wear a wave cap and my floppy hat to protect my face from the sun. When I get out, I just wash my hair and throw another wave cap on with a ball cap. It’s a bit inconvenient, but I’m still not at a point where I feel comfortable walking around without hair fibers covering my crown area, which is still very thin. I’m hoping finasteride can fix that over the next year or so. -DJ
It’s complicated, verain. Firstly, if you’re using foam, then most definitely you can with no issue. However if you’re using liquid, then it depends on which hair fibers you’re using. I don’t recommend trying to use Toppik, Febron, or Caboki on a scalp wet from minoxidil. Their hair fiber dye bleeds off of the fiber. I’d recommend waiting until it dries a bit before applying. You only need to keep the minoxidil on for 45-60 minutes. After that you can wash it off and apply your hair fibers. -DJ
Bishnu, working out is okay. Just be aware of where you put your head and always wipe off the bench after you use it. You’ll leave some fibers behind, but it’s not a noticeable amount. I always work out with fibers in. -DJ
I’ve never tried with a helmet before, but they fit pretty snugly, so I’d say they might rub off. To be safe, I’d wear a wave cap under the helmet to protect the fibers. -DJ

A silk or satin shower cap works if you have longer hair. If your hair is shorter, you can use a durag or a stocking cap.

Hi Wad, once your scabs fall off, you should be okay to use hair fibers. I wouldn’t suggest using them before that though.

Hi. I had a very bad experience with Caboki. My hair immediately started falling. I had no idea why? than my frnd who was also using it told the same thing. Can u comment on Toppik, whether it also causes hairfall... and is it safe to sleep with it and wear it for extended periods. Thank you
Misty, thank you for watching and for your questions. There are no ingredients in neither Toppik, nor Caboki that will make you lose hair. There are, however, imitation products that look almost identical to the authentic product. There have been people who experienced skin irritation, rashes, and even hair shedding from using the fake products.
As for sleeping and wearing them for a long period, until my daughter as born, I would wearing Toppik hair fibers for 2-3 days at a time with zero issues and kept this up for over 3 years. I will say that the fibers can make your scalp quite itchy by the 3rd day, though.
If you choose to sleep with them in, I recommend buying a silk sleeping cap or at least a shower cap to protect your pillow and help keep the fibers in place.

I have to work today and I know it’s going to rain hard due to the weather so there are going to be times when I have to go outside is the oilbased Pom going to be enough?
If you’re just walking to your car or in a lights drizzle, there is no issue at all. Even a short time in heavy rain is okay. Just to be sure though, bring the canister with you and touch up in the bathroom if need be.

I generally don’t swim in pools. But I do surf. When I go surfing, I don’t wear hair fibers. I actually just wear a wave cap and my floppy hat to protect my face from the sun. When I get out, I just wash my hair and throw another wave cap on with a ball cap.
It’s a bit inconvenient, but I’m still not at a point where I feel comfortable walking around without hair fibers covering my crown area, which is still very thin. I’m hoping finasteride can fix that over the next year or so.

It’s complicated, verain. Firstly, if you’re using foam, then most definitely you can with no issue.
However if you’re using liquid, then it depends on which hair fibers you’re using. I don’t recommend trying to use Toppik, Febron, or Caboki on a scalp wet from minoxidil. Their hair fiber dye bleeds off of the fiber. I’d recommend waiting until it dries a bit before applying. You only need to keep the minoxidil on for 45-60 minutes. After that you can wash it off and apply your hair fibers.

Bishnu, working out is okay. Just be aware of where you put your head and always wipe off the bench after you use it. You’ll leave some fibers behind, but it’s not a noticeable amount. I always work out with fibers in.

I’ve never tried with a helmet before, but they fit pretty snugly, so I’d say they might rub off. To be safe, I’d wear a wave cap under the helmet to protect the fibers.
