The fibers do work for those barely starting the hairloss journey. But in your case, it looked wonky as hell lol. You could tell there’s too much thickness on the top yet there’s no bulk/volume to the hair compared to the sides? I used to use fibers, the struggle was just too much to go through in the long term. Eventually my hair became too thin to use them, so I decided to buzz my head. It’s been a couple years since and I haven’t looked back
What guard or number did you buzz down to?
Lewis Cook Been buzzing down to a 0.5. I haven’t tried the full razor shave yet as I feel that’s a good length for the hair I’ve got left.
ObiWon Kevobi your crown must be fairly ok then? I’d buzz down that low but my crown is really thin it’d show so much if I did
@@mister.c4631 just shave it off then
@@SqueezySponge I hope you're still not feeling insecure about it holding onto that 0.5 guard. Maybe you just don't like the skinhead look and I can understand that.
Petition for bald cafe to try wearing a wig for a day lmao. For the fun of it
You can get wigs that they glue to your head for a dozen weeks or so.
@Johnfuse You can itch your head through the lace or whatever the base is.
Oh man. I used these for nearly 10 years, then one day I was in a rush and bumped my head on the way into the car. So I grabbed my phone, (feeling the familiar sense of dread I got whenever anything touched my 'hair'), put the camera on so I could check the damage and had a panic attack.
The bump had done nothing. But my 'hair' looked fucking awful. And there was no way it had been fooling anyone. My bathroom lighting might be kind, but natural light showed perfectly well that I was a bald man with some clumpy shit all over my head. I wish I could upload the photo so you could see how awful it looks.
I called in sick there and then. Went home, worked up the courage, shaved my head and have received nothing but complements from everyone ever since.
Years of stressing. Worrying about rain, wind, the kids splashing me in the pool on holiday. What a waste.
You're going bald. Nobody cares but you. Shave it off. Enjoy your life.
i agree. just shave it off. it looks awful
and the best part, you don't have to buy the things anymore!! i'l bet they aint cheap either? Saved cash on the hide it products and hair cuts!! Winning!!!!!!!
I called in sick a good many times because I couldn’t get the fibres to stick, feel like an idiot looking back on it now
That is exactly it. Nobody seems to care. Everybody has some insecurities or something of their own to worry about.
@@undefinedfrequency3891 Me as well. Was used to feel the same.
I can't believe this is even a thing. If I used them I'd be so conscious of it and scared of anything/anyone touching my head. That's no way to live.
Plot twist. Bald cafe is going to have hair again and change his name to hair cafe. Lolol great vid
cant wait
Lol, Kevin Mann’s channel was renamed “Hair Cafe” as a jab against Bald Cafe.
There’s already a Haircafe
I'm a 23 year old girl growing my hair back from 8 years of bulimia mixed with starving myself.
Its growing back, and now its just getting it thicker, since it is super thin now.
I hate these things but it makes me feel more confident
Cannot wait til the day i dont have to use them!
This is one of the few times when fibers make sense (in my mind), since your hair is temporarily thin, and will grow back thicker as you get on with your health journey. For a naturally balding person, it's just prolonging anxiety and holding them back from accepting themselves in a natural process.
Congratulations on getting healthier and on taking steps to treat your body with kindness. Good luck with your recovery ❤
I ended taking iron which really helped to make it thicker!
Really digging your optimistic and down to earth personality mate
The quote from the book 10/10, the ending of the video was so key!
I've used these for years and they've always worked well for me. It becomes routine putting them on just like brushing your teeth. They stay on for exercise too. I feel a lot better with them in my hair to be honest.
I personally also think that fibers are great they do cover up a lot even quite advanced balding like someone in Baldcafes position and you don't even have to wash them out and put them in again every single day. In my experience it is ok to let them in your hair 2 days sometimes even up to 3 days
Okay, but why did you ever let yourself be told that you are a worse person without hair? that you must feel bad when your baldness is visible? have you thought of other people who are armless, deaf, blind or with down syndrome? I do not understand how you can be ashamed of baldness if it is not the fault of this person, but evidently genetics 🤷♀️
I’ve been using them for years and they do make me feel alot better on how i look. Also sweating when working out or natural elements like wind and rain don’t affect them, using hair spray after applying the product locks them in.
@@bmwe9044 it’s not about how others see it, it’s about being happy with how you look for you, just like lifting etc
I agree. Personally I don’t mind the bald look. But every now and than I like to enhance my thin hair with fibers and I see no problem at all.
As a young lad i cannot fathom what my mind set would be like without this channel. Thank you! Bald Jesus i’ll call you from now on;)

You are always speaking words of wisdom to us Harry, with every video I feel like I'm becoming more enlightened 😆
I had the same thing happen to me at university.
I knew I was thinning all over but since I dreaded looking in the mirror, I had no idea my crown had developed a massive bald spot until I was standing on a packed bus and I momentarily looked on the CCTV screen where one of the cameras was right above my head.
It was on cold, dark, rainy Monday; I had a 3 hour long lecture and of course this girl I 'had my eyes on' wound up sitting directly behind me in the lecture hall (where the seat/rows are steeped, meaning she and her friends basically had a VIP view of my newly discovered bald crown along with my ferocious recession all round).
It was one of those moments where a single minute felt like a decade. And I was in there for 3 hours. Just things life throws at you that stay with you forever.
I feel you man
I was expecting a happy ending 😞
dude, just read this and wanted to say thanks. I definitely can relate. keep on keeping on!
I was sitting at a table in a restaurant when the cute waiter came over. First thought: he’s adorable. Second thought: oh shit he can see my bald patches. :( I still remember how mortified I was. Hugs.
I used hair fibers (Toppix) early on in my baldness with great success.....they work quite well when you’re in the early thinning stages, but there comes a point when you just lose too much hair/volume for them to work. They don’t provide any volume, it’s just camouflage to make thinning hair look fuller, but you NEED ENOUGH HAIR for them to cling too. My best results came when I got my hair cut super short on the sides and back and used the hair fibers on top on my remaining hair.......visually, it’s all about contrast....the shorter the sides and back the fuller the top will look (with fibers). This video is a great example of how ‘uneven’ the top will look with fibers when your hair is too long on the sides/upper sides.....there just isn’t any volume on top
My hair is as thin as yours and fibers work great when properly applied. It doesn't take much time at all. The hairline can be a chore right after a shower, probably due to the hair being so clean it is hard to stick to. You can start with a very Light spray of Light Hold hair spray (helps catch fibers) , then fibers, then another light spray to secure it. You don't have to use lots of spray!
It looked amazing at first !!! But that maintenance and sweat is a no go for sure. Great demo bro!
I used hair fibers for 4 years, crazy years, always thinking about fibers, lights, rain, wind and so on..
one month ago, after watching so many of your videos, I decided to shave my head and it's going pretty well
Have courage and be confident!
Thank you so much!
hey man, i am 19 and i have been watching your videos for a while. just few days until i go for the buzz cut
Great vlog Harry. As you say it's not a moral judgement and they do what they are designed for in the short term. But hair fibres (just like dermatch, wearing caps, minoxidil, finasteride, hair transplants, wigs, etc) keep your focus fixed on your hair! That is it keeps you fixated on seeing the loss of hair as a negative and it stops you moving forward which equals real growth. In saying this I am in no way telling guys not to wear caps, hair fibres, etc, etc. I'm just looking back at my thirty years of mistakes and hoping that someone can benefit from my mistakes for free. Thanks for sharing!
I'll be perfectly honest. When you grow your hair out to the length it is here, although it's apparent you're thinning, it looks good.
I think so too. For me it looks more natural than completely shaved. And his beard looks better on the combination. But without the fibres!!!
Hair fibres work on slight diffuse thinning but not on major bald spots, comes a point where it looks crap.
The most important thing is to be confident with thinning hair or with being bald, as long as it's not taking up unnecessary negative headspace. Don't let balding control your life ❤
Glad you did it seriously this time. They do work on people with mild hair loss and its a good option for people who arent ready to shave.
Absolutely life changing for me
I don't think so. You have to accept the reality sooner or later. I used them for like 1 year and it was very stressful. I always had to check my hair at work always had to look in the mirror. And after taking a shower it is all gone and your fake confidence too. So you're back and have the shitty feeling that you had before you put them on.
Xitler 维尼大帝 same mate. 7 years strong 🙌
As a balding chap who wears his hair very short, when doing some building work a couple of years ago, I discovered that soot and dust had the same effect as these fibres.
I'm not saying that fibres are a great solution, but it's incredible how natural the powder looks. How does this even work :-D ?
It attaches to your thin hairs you still have
I've been using fibres for a couple of years already and they do a surprisingly good job in hiding your baldness at the early stages, but unless you wash them away for the night your pillow is gonna be a nightmare. Though washing them away every night and sprinkle them again every morning is bothersome and leaves your bathroom in a mess, not to mention the constant self-awareness. Thanks to your channel I am about to embrace baldness and shave it all off. You're changing my life mate and I feel I owe you a lot. Subscribed.
Edit: as stated above I shaved my head and feel much freer and cleaner now.
Really insightful comments. Thank you

P.S. I do scapula corrective work as well. Before bed, I do a posture routine comprised of 9 exercises; 3 of which are scapula centred: scap push ups, single arm scap push ups and scap band pull aparts.
After testing this out, you should get the new temporary smp and see what you think about getting it to get rid of the horse shoe and frame your face
Yo brother u look great regardless! Love ya
Imagine being outside in public and it starts raining and this stuff just starts dripping from your head
*people keep saying in comments sections to "just shave it off, there is a community that will support you, its less hassle, etc etc".... Its not about the support or whether you will look ok. Its a personal choice - If people want hair, then let them use the stuff. Just because you're thinning it doesn't make you a bad or vain person to use hair fibers or plugs or hair systems, its whatever makes you happy at the end of the day*
Hair fibres have their place but I think they’re most effective when used as a temporary solution to a temporary problem like alopecia areata rather than for male pattern baldness
Looked better than it did on my head! But agree own it don't hide it these videos have helped me with that owning it *
Nice video !
I remember I wore the hair fibers to the gym hold spray on and everything but when I started sweating it came down my face green

When I shaved my head for the first time, I went from hair down to my shoulders to completely bald in an hour. I noticed receding hairline and decided it was time. I did it as a brave shaver thing for cancer. Never looked back since, shave my head every 2 days. The thing that made me feel really good about my decision was one line in a video by Ollie Pearce on style for bald guys. He said “don’t be afraid to be the bald guy”. I though to my self f*ck yeah I can be the bald guy easy.
half the guys around are the "bald guy"
It actually looks better than i thought
I've been using fibers for about 4 years now. I agree with many that it is effective at the beginning of baldness around the crown. But my receding hairline is a nightmare with the stuff. I am tired of fearing rain, sweat, wind, or bumps. It may look ok first thing in the morning, but the worst feeling is being out and something messes it up and there's no way to fix it. Great, now people will see I'm balding and doing a terrible job at covering it up. This week I will finally pull the trigger and shave it off. It's going to be a big change and take a lot. Luckily I am able to look at photos of me in basic training 10 years ago and picture how it will look, and it's not as bad as I think.
I've also got an unused bottle of brown caboki if anyone is interested lol.
I used hair fiber for like a month. At first I felt a little more confident. However, I started to focus more on my hair than normal. It's basically like wearing a hat. Like a hat you spend more time worrying about it falling off than actually living your life. I feel that embracing these changes head on is the only way to true confidence. I started at a 2 guard - then - 1 gaurd - then just last night zero gaurd. My work colleagues were very supportive and it is defo not as bad as you think. I actually like it 100 times more than before. Just lop the fucker off - there is a whole community here that is very supportive.
Used them for a while and with some hair spray and certain hairstyles were quite unnoticeable (Most of the videos on my channel right up to the end are with them) and I was over the moon when I discovered them. Could even do a bit of swimming with them if you were careful! But eventually had to cave in when I could see people's eyes looking up at my head when I spoke to them. People could tell something was up eventually.
Made it hard to go bald too. A lot of "But you had hair?" and "How come you suddenly went bald?" comments.
I think you were just paranoid dude
@@chucktaylor9494 Oh no you can tell for sure! Always looked fine in the mirror but in photos I could see exactly what they were looking at, haha
My hair at front is still relatively longish and I’ve never had a problem falling on my forehead. I concentrate on the crown. Anyway it’s been working for me. It only takes 30 seconds and you need to put hair spray on to keep it in place better.
Used fibres for the first stages not bad. Recently had a "hair system" fitted (posh toupee costing a fortune) ended up looking terrible after a week so took it off and shaved it off after watching a few of your videos couldn't be happier! Perhaps the next product to try out?
You look quite good with hair fibres
It really works for anyone who just started balding. Really helps.
Harry I totally agree. Fibres can work if the hairloss is not severe. But as you said, it creates the kind of insecurity as does a hair system, and you would have to worry about every move you make in order not to blow your cover. The only thing I could accept is a well made SMP. But SMP also worls best when you have some hair as well.
I totally agree, I’m glad I just shaved my head, it’s just something I no longer think about. Hair fibres seem to be substituting one anxiety for another, from can people notice my hair is thinning to can people notice I’m using high fibres and are they staying in place.
Hair systems next please
you look so much better without it, With or without hair :)
I bought some just for fun. It fills up thin hair nice and you can’t even tell but I don’t have a hairline anymore so it looks like dirt on my skin lol. It looks better in your hair because you have more hair than me in the front
You should do a segment where you get a barber to give you a proper fade and tape.
I think they're Fine for little bald/thin spots or with your thinning is diffuse. If your hairline is gone, forget It.

You have to use hair spray after put the hair fibers, so they Stay on your head.
I use it for years, i have hair like yours and that doesnt happen to me when i do gym , go the beach, and its great

It ultimately just makes you more paranoid and less confident.

Great video once again. I'm not balding, but have always kept my hair short. Mainly cut it with the number 2 guard all around. The last 2 years or so, I've cut it with no guard. More recently, I started shaving it with a razor. Learnt a lot from your channel on methods to get a good shave. Thank you.
Problem is: one day you appear to have hair, the next you're balding because lack of funds to keep buying it or just didn't feel up to putting it in your hair. You go back and forth for awhile and eventually people catch on to it and it becomes pointless and expensive.
What's up Haircafe, I'm a new subscriber here, I wanna ask what's the name of the book / author you read from
I used fibres for years I think it looked really good on you. Problem I had was my hair was so thin, a little wind and it would fly up
They do work, I am slightly balding in the crown and they work a treat for it. I also live in Thailand where it is hot all of the time and when I sweat it doesn't budge. I will just have to avoid the water festival in April! 🤣
I had a friend who sprayed color and used this stuff. Had to carry an umbrella everywhere. His nickname was Mary Poppins.
Brilliant 😁
Tbh you kinda done a good job on it
It's the perfect disguise, being bald is such a distinguishing feature.
These types of fibers, though they statically adhere to the hair, are better when used with hair products. First applying some hair pomade, gel, cream, or mousse and letting it dry and then putting the fibers on will help it stay better even when exercising, and can also last overnight after sleeping until the next day. Topping it off with a flexible hair spray will also keep them in place. Using a make-up brush, such as a large eyeshadow brush, a blush brush, or a powder blush with dense hairs that is flat on top is great for applying it to the hairline (and beard) without getting it all over the place. The only time you need to apply a full application is when your hair is washed (or submerged in water from rain or swimming), and then touch up daily any areas that have gotten sparse. This is of course only for those who feel they want to conceal baldness or add fulness to hair. Those that want to embrace thinning and baldness should do so absolutely.
Could you do a fitness video on what workouts you’d recommend? Thanks!
I definitely recommend the routine linked below as a starting point or if you want to try something new. It’s so easy to get started with, minimal cost and it is all laid out nicely 🙏

Dont worry u look so nice and mature with ur bald head. Very nice eyes and face!
Do one on the bald pony tail
Also when sunlight or recessed lights hit the fibers it shines right through and you can see the powdery texture and lack of volume that you would normally see with real hair.
Still ngl. Imo it's convincing. Not bad looking anyway.
Sure it's maintenance and effort and you might be worried what people think still. But imo. Not bad.
Glad to see still keeping it monk mode mate
The irony that a hair fiber ad played before this vid.
Ricardo again?
That's because you bald lol
Try hair spray next time. I used tondo charcoal drawings and I would use hairspray to hold the charcoal fibers on the board. Same thing with this stuff.
My experience was literally explained in this video, I also feel like the fibres accelerated my hair loss. The effect at the beginning is literally an addicting experience because you cover the beginning of it then it gets even worse because you have to “come out” as a bald person 😅.
Your friends don’t see the hair loss transition.
I actually had the same experience but at the place I’m in now there’s no turning back . I would rather it not look the best than have a bald head . I’m planning a trip to Turkey for a hair transplant hopefully that improves the process.
@@stanpeirce8872 good luck man. I noticed slight hair loss at the crown and got on fin immediately, will buy min tomorrow as well as this toppik. If all else fails I also plan on heading to turkey.
@@A1Kira how's it working out for you so far if you don't mind me asking?
It looks really really good you should consider using it bro
I tried this as I was nearing the end of my hair loss journey. NIGHTMARE experience. I had thick hair on side and back but pretty much nothing on top. I'd go through a bottle in nearly 3 days, which wasn't cheap. That was the first problem.
Secondly, whenever I went into a shopping mall/building the AC upon entry would blow the fibers off my head.
But the worst experience came when I used the fibers on my head for my friends visit in Asia..I hadn't seen him in 2 years and since then my balding had gotten worse. So I put on the fibers. He didn't seem to notice and if he did he said nothing. As we were on the bus he had to climb across me and the seats to get to the bathroom. He suddenly lost his balance and his hand fell on my head to stabilise himself. Well, imagine his surprise when his hand got covered in this sticky, black, dotty goo, rather than a soft, cushioned head of hair. He looked at his hand with a mixture of confusion and horror whilst I kinda sat there embarrassed and anxious. The following weeks I shaved it all off and I've never looked back since.
So yeah that was my brief but bad experience with hair fibers. I really think all that stuff is just a band aid over the problem and its better to accept its going and just shave it off. Anyways good video as always
Fibers are for thinning hair, not zero hair, stupid.
Was the friend supportive?
Its working!
Hair fibres are good but I’d suggest on really work well for people in the beginning stages of balding
Low tape fade with a line up and that magic hair in a bottle at this point
I used hair fibres for a while during the early stages of my hair loss but to be honest I was more concerned about how they looked in certain situations, they were so unpractical. If it was raining or windy I wouldn’t go out, I couldn’t go swimming, ride a bike, go to the gym even just scratch my head when it was itching. I had to plan my day around my hair for gods sake. Then one day I thought this is ridiculous so I just shaved my hair off and have never turned back. I love having a shaved head and I wish I had done this right at the start
You're a liar
It works fine if you a little thinning in crown and you can put it on then comb over so the fibre hair is underneath.
I do this and have transplant at front and use oral minoxidil and Finasteride.
They CAN be useful. But they ARE a massive pain in the backside. I'm so far very lucky to have reached middle age with a full head of hair, but I have suffered a couple of instances of alopecia areata, which is basically a bald patch the size of a small egg. When I had it a year ago, it was in an awkward spot on the back of my head. I used to comb a little hair lightly over it and use fibres to mask the skin. Worked well. But it's really messy stuff, it goes everywhere including up your nostrils. It also needs strong hairspray to stick to, it doesn't stay on as well as the adverts claim. I recently had a disaster, clipping my own hair during lockdown. I put the wrong attachment on and took a huge chunk out of the side. Luckily, I still had a pack of hair fibres from when I used it on my alopecia, so I'm currently wearing them again just for a few days until it grows back enough for me to sort it out. Excellent result. Like I say, they're useful for some situations but I think I'd only want to wear them for those kinds of temporary needs, it doesn't realistically provide any permanent solution. They're really hard to to apply well, they can very easily just look like a lump of dust sitting on your head. It's a practiced art, to get them looking right. Bottom line, they're useful for light, occasional purposes.
Theres no volume that's why fibers suck if you're too thin and receded
Anyone ever play Telling Lies? Baldcafe reminds me a lot of David. 🤩
They are to be used as a supplement, like if you're thinning abit on the crown and you're going on a special occasion, it's a subtle difference but if you're using it to fully transform then you're putting more work and worry into something that is natural
It actually looks pretty good lol
I was wondering if anyone ever tired hair tattoos. Some tattoo design that would look like hair. Tattoos like flower or grass growing on the head.
The ad I got at the beginning of this video was for hair fibers, how very ironic XD
I think of that episode of Seinfeld when Elaine yells at George “YOU’RE BALD!”
I started using them about 2 years ago. Just for the crown, which is vital: if you go on the temples and hairline you risk them running off. After sprinkling, hairspray is needed to make them stick.
Also, not going over board is key. A can of Toppik lasts me about 6 weeks. Even more than that nowadays. Why?
Since lockdown, I started working mostly from home, so I only use them when I go out or meet somebody (usually weekends). I’ve used them at the beach and vacations. Obviously, once you go on the water they’re gone. I carry a cap and wear it after coming out the water for the rest of the day.
The texture is not particularly pleasant, since your hair becomes kinda dry to the touch (as if you had dust and hairspray in your head - which you do). The application for me is quick and simple. Takes me less than 10 mins (including the dryer).
Are hair fibers ideal? No. Could I get rid of them? Eventually, for sure. For now I’m making the most of what I’ve got.
Hair fibers could easily be seen by many as the last straw before the buzzcut.
Oh and btw, there’s a UA-cam channel dedicated heavily to hair fibers. I think is calles Keratin Brotherhood.
Thoughts on just using hair fibres on special occasions? I have been losing my hair for 11 years and my appearance has really gotten me down the last 3-4 years, my family, friends, colleagues, anyone I interact with regularly will be aware I'm balding. I have no intention of hiding my hair loss 24/7 but I would like to start wearing hair fibres on dates/meals/nights out as a confidence boost, I've accepted my hair loss but confidence is something I've always struggled with, even when I liked my appearance. I've buzzed my hair about 6 months ago, and I do like it shorter but it hasn't really made me like my appearance generally.
If using the hair fibers gives you that boost to get out there in social interaction etc then I say go for it... why do I say that? Because ultimately you won’t find real confidence in the hair fibers. It’s fragile. You already possess lots to be confident, you just haven’t discovered it all. If the fibers assist you in finding where your true confidence is then it’s a good thing in my book 👍
@@Baldcafe thanks for the response. Will give it a go.

The fibres look okay, but imagine you get caught out in the rain, or end up in bed with a new person, or you’re in a hurry in the mornings. It just seems like a whole lot of inconvenience and expense when you could look even better by embracing the shaved head look - which seems to suit most guys.
@@Allyballybean The shaved look only works if you don't have a massive forehead, not everyone looks good with a shaved head you have to have the right head shape. This dude has a decent amount of hair still and could probably do decently with minoxidil and a hair transplant but whatevs.
I've not looked it up for ages but I remember reading about a bloke who was balding so shaved his head. He then got like little dot tattoos all over his bald part. Really did look like he just had a crew cut on a full head of hair. Not a bad idea I thought. I started losing mine at 20. Receding back then. Strangely it stopped getting worse & if anything got better in to my 30's. I did try some head massage & sort of head stands via a settee but I don't know. I'm 60 now & still have quite a lot of hair. Was weird why it happened back then at 20.
