Hello Mr. Steves. Thank you for taking me on a virtual tour of Glasgow and parts of Scotland. I like the way you mingle with the locals and share a wonderful camaraderie with them. We get to hear stories from history from the natives which is a nice way to introduce us to the region. I was in Edinburgh in 2009 and I was so impressed by the city. It feels like a huge golf course. The people there were uber friendly. Online tourism feels very realistic in your hands.
What a country---its people, its history, its glorious scenery, and so much else! Listening to bagpipes a sublime experience, just endlessly haunting & beautiful!
i'm kinda depressed with many things going on right now in my life, but those Rick Steves videos help me so much with their huge amount of beautiful landscapes and positive attitude of him, thanks Rick, for those videos and for making them available here for free.
If you didn't believe that Scotland was in a league of its own you only have to sample those quirky sports. Glasgow has a distinctive taste, whats in the air and the waters ; you'll go away with the notes of the pipers in your soul.
I'm from Brazil. I met a group of Scottish on a trip to Argentina and I'll never forget how friendly and joyful they were. They reminded me of Brazilians. I never knew they could be so similar to us from a land so far away from Brazil. In those times I didn't even speak English so well and until nowadays I don't know how we could communicate, but we did LOL. Since then Scotland has been one of the countries on the top of my list to visit in Europe. I couldn't achieve this dream so far, but I hope one day I will.
I hope my wife and I get to visit this beautiful place. Not only to see the beauty in nature and the cities but the people who seem so happy to be there. I wish the world had more of this attitude.
