- Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide © 2004 | We start in bustling Belfast's City Hall and Ulster Museum, then head out to Northern Ireland's favorite resort: Portrush, along the Antrim Coast, where we taste-test Irish whiskey, scramble over some six-sided geology in the Giant's Causeway, drop in on a world-class golf course, and stomp our feet to some traditional music. #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #northernireland

I went to 9 country's in Europe last summer and met some friends from Belfast in Paris - 6 country's later I decided to fly there to meet up with them again. I originally planned to stay for 5 days, ended up staying for 12! The people of Northern Ireland are some of the friendliest and accommodating I've ever met. I've just spent 4 amazing days in Belfast, and I've been on a tour up to the Giant's Causeway too. Its breathtakingly beautiful, clean, not too busy, theres no rush. People love partying, and they really enjoy themselves, sing and dance, not like here in England. Man are really handsome and sexy, and u can get cocktails for £3! I fell in love with this country! It was very hard to leave.

+OysterHunter lol if u call that partying

I heard today I have lost a true Friend, who was always there for me. By right some would say we should not have been friends, she was from Belfast and Protestant. My Parents were from Southern Ireland and I was brought up as Catholic (now lapsed), it made no difference. We never got involved with the Politics. This all reminds me of my dear Friend. Thank you.

Thank you so much. We were there about 7 years ago--a great trip. It's so nice to see many of the places we visited. I remember the rope bridge so well--we started walking there from the Giant's Causeway--it didn't look so far--and got pretty tired (in our 70's and 80's)...so we just watched other people on the bridge from afar. Now I see it better! And know I wouldn't have enjoyed being on it! Watching my third video of yours in a row; a great way to spend time and forget our present troubles--during the epidemic.
Hello Elinore
I live on the north coast of Northern Ireland and it's truly so beautiful
So do I!
Great video and fair representation of Northern Ireland.
As usual Rick, another fine tribute to my homeland for the world to view. Just one little criticism - when you and your compatriots are here, please take the chance to actually learn the pronunciation of our place names. For example Carrick a Rede rope bridge- it DOESN’T rhyme with crick, in the same way Carrickfergus DOESN’T rhyme with Crickfergus.
Try CARRick a read - NOT crick a reed
