Felt kinda surreal, like the whole movie: the loud volume in the cinema paired with the drums and so on made me feel like this movie was a mental adventure into a different world lol

i think its because every other character is 'of the earth'... bruised dirty, brutalized.. brown and grey.. then, comes this beautiful but terrifying creature, immacutely clean, impressive dress, ethereal, flying.. what a great scene... best scene out of the movie for sure.. runner up are the 'tree of kings' scenes

This is a breathtaking and haunting scene. I must’ve rewatched it about 5 times. An incredible interpretation of a Valkyrie’s ascension into Valhalla. I’m gobsmacked! 😳👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This scene simultaneously warmed and chilled me to my core and brought tears to my eyes. Such a transporting, transcendent depiction and soundscape of an incredible concept.
Its as if at this exact moment fate was no longer in motion and undecided, but it became destiny for our hero to die in battle, and so the valkyrie prepares. Thinking about it like this and not just a cinematic cutscene gives me hundreds more goosebumps.

So many depictions of Valkyrae are about being sexy versions of men. I love that their real nature is warlike compassion, in what they do. They only choose the truest men. Nothing to do with fighting. This is so right.
The Valkyrae are complex. They are very much linked to battle, the names (and presumably the "essence") of specific Valkyrae are linked with all sorts of aspects of fighting. Screams, weapons, prisoners, sounds etc. From this some historians assume that the Valkyrae are literally present during battles, and are rather terrifying in their nature.
pretty well made piece of cinema. great visuals, awesome sounddesign and soundtracks. girthy and dirty, dark and mysterious not overproduced and not too much cgi. if you expect a hollywood like epic drama with huge ass battlefield scenes and the likes..wrong movie. this one tries to be a little bit more realistic in the depiciton of the time period its based.

I just visited my local museum the other day, they had skulls with teeth with these filled grooves, they where from around 900 AD, we see them mostly in men, but there has been excavations in Sweden with females with the same kind of grooves.

They're not braces. Vikings decorated their teeth with grooves, paint (and occasionally colorful stones). It's theorized it may have been for status.
