Spot on, Im in the middle of slowly binging your videos , while hoping i don't hit the end of them too soon. I love the variety of topics, the beautiful - disturbing images, the text, basically everything....All of which are very pleasing, causing many, many dopaminergic neurons to display firework-like displays in my brain after day after long f****** day of unpraised laborious work. You'll reach 1 mil subs tomorrow. or very soon. Ty for the content ....also shoutout to my boy saxo -Rafiki
Looking at the comments, I see that I'm not alone in my current binge of your content. You completely deserve all the attention your channel has gotten, thank you so much and congratulations
If this guy keeps it up I’d be shocked if he doesn’t have a million subs by the end of the year especially bc of the ether and Nero video just the art he uses in his video alone is so cool and unique the ether video reminded me of the dishonored video games
once again you have made such a gorgeous video, mr horses, and i really have to thank you specifically for your clear diction--it makes the entire story so much more enjoyable knowing exactly what you're saying when you speak. cheers and keep up the great work!! thank you!
Psst, just FYI, at 14:06 that should be "wary", not "weary". To be wary of something is to pay heed to it and be cautious of its possible dangers. Weary is a synonym of tired. One should be wary of making mistakes once they become to weary ;)
Wow, what a great story! The Northman was a fun movie but after listening to this it could’ve been so much more. Then again maybe a 120 minute movie wouldn’t do justice to the story of Amleth.
I didnt even know Hamlet was inspired by anything! What a fascinating video. Thank you so much, this is an important facet of literature I might not have ever know if not for your channel. ❤
I have been meaning to watch The Northman since the day it came out but I just never got around to it. I kept seeing this video on your channel and I kept thinking that I need to watch that movie before I watch this video. I finally decided enough was enough and that I will watch it tonight and oh my lord, it was amazing! It's everything I love about The Lighthouse but better. Thank you so much for indirectly turning me onto this movie.
Made the mistake of putting this on for background noise while I fall asleep. I refuse to close my eyes because I'm so invested in the art and the story
Any plans to release these as podcasts? I'd love to listen whilst travelling, UA-cam is pain to keep open in the background. Thanks for great content x
14:08 you mean to say either "leery" or "wary", meaning cautious or distrustful, but like many people you combined the two and said "weary", which means sleepy. That's my vocab nerd deed for the day, you're welcome.
Your use of text and colour animation combined with your illustrations is outstanding. My graphic designer is having an orgasm while digesting this essay. Well fkn done mate.
It's weird to listen about film that I turn off LAUGHING because they showed supposedly Rus, and I'll bet that at least half of the extras screamed in Polish. XD No, it's not a matter of language similarity, East Slavic languages are not similar enough for me, as a Pole, to confuse them with my language. On serious note- murdered people screaming in my language caused me, firstly, to feel something more than usual in scenes of this type, and secondly, not root for the protagonist, because how can you wish well to a guy who murdered an entire village?
On brainwaves Imagine a school that only teach on subject: A confusing text of religious violence, taught stopping conditioning, bigotry and hatred of outsiders. Day in and day out. What do you get? 🕋
I say often that Star Wars is more real and relevant to me than dinosaurs. One is make believe and the other real, but one makes no significance in my life. Like Jesus for an example. If you believe Jesus is real is significant to the individual, if one believes Jesus not real, still is significant to the individual. Make believe is more powerful than reality in many situations.
Latin wasn’t a vernacular language in the Middle Ages but the belief that only a handful of scholars could read it is an uninformed opinion. It was the language of religion, science, and history in Europe which anyone going into those fields was expected to learn
Just came across your channel and holy crap your videos are so well-crafted visually and textually! Keep it up!
Thanks!! 😍
Agreed

The Draugr scene was nice to see.
How did Amleth know about the pigs eating human flesh and the daggers in the river?
Taste. It could even be his doing.
Great production and a wonderful voice
I love this channel 🖤

What a lovely channel - agree with the comments below, Ive almost watched all of them now and your videos are gorgeous

Do you do all these paintings and drawings?
Hey, I really like the illustrations!
how do you make videos like this?
obligatory algorithm engagement comment
Do you create all your graphics and assets yourself?
For this video, yes ❤️
these illustrations are so fucking good
I always thought the hero’s journey was really boring to learn, but now I understand why it’s important lol
I thought this was the Mothman then I put my reading glasses on 🥴
What if the answer in the vid was just like "no"

Amleth was him.

Really good un
Amlyth’s story sounds a lot like Arthur’s.
My videos look way worse and still take hours of effort to compile. I can't imagine how long this took
The movie would have been a way different watch with Amleth acting all derpy for the first and second acts.
Just thought it was an origin for a certain True Blood character.
crazy video
I like your style
great!
Damn bro thats crazy
nice.
except, it's wary, not weary.
Lmao the flag of Romania in the first 0.40 minutes

Amleth is not even an Icelandic myth. read Hamlet's Mill to better understand it.
