I don't think I speak only for myself when I say that the Matrix might well be the single most revolutionary and defining movie for late 80"s/ early 90's kids and teenagers.
Yes, there were huge movies like Jurassic Park, The Phantom Menace and Spider-Man 2002 or Scream but there is a clear before and after The Matrix.
It immediately changed the art of movie making and had a gigantic cultural impact on all fronts (gaming, fashion, Internet, intellectual...) for several years after its release.
It spawned numerous parodies and clones but has never been surpassed and will most likely remain a once in a lifetime experience that you just had to witness for yourself.

What I love about this scene is how calm its shot. The camera is moving incredibly steadily and doesn't cut often. It lets you follow exactly whats going on and it wants you to soak in all the cool stunts. No movement is hidden, quite the contrary, you have very clear viewing angles and slow motion so you can see it all. You know at all times what's going on, even though this fight would be very quick. Neo and Trinity come off as incredibly skillful and hyperfocused, but they don't have an easy time.
Compare that to most action movies, where the camera spins, shakes, zooms and cuts like crazy during fights. The angle will usually be so close that it's impossible to see who is doing what. The camera can cut multiple times in a second to disorient you. Nobody is doing anything that looks fancy or skillful, but if they did, you couldn't see. There's not much choerography, people are just flailing around until one guy loses. It's cheap to make since the actors don't need much training or many takes, but you sure as hell aren't coming back 22 years later to watch it again.

Fun fact: Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss randomly went into a heavily guarded building one day and murdered a lot of people. It was caught on camera and they decided to put the scene in the movie, as it was never originally in the script.

Básicamente todas las películas y videojuegos de acción del siglo xxi resumidos en una sola escena.

Absolutely wonderful and a new era in cinematic history in The Matrix. Carrie Anne Moss injured an ankle during this take which was continued to be filmed over some time. And apart from “bullet time” personally I think this is one of the most memorable parts from the film. Using a mix of acrobatics, the music by Propellerheads and finally the foley -sound effects to those who don’t know the term, of the tinkle tinkle of shell cases being dispensed all over the floor. -Up until this film was produced I have never heard the use of this technique which proved to be SO effective.

    • @omegarugal9283

actually she hurt her ankle during the training before the shooting even started, she ketp it a secret or else she would get fired and replaced, then keanu had back surgery and hugo weaving had hip surgery too so the shooting was delayed even more so she managed to heal in time
