Excellent videos, every single one of them. The narration is spot on as well. You, Sir, have inspired me to pick up a hobby I abandoned more than a decade back.
"If you can do it on feet, you can do it on rollerblades" I've been saying that since I've been 4 feet tall (6'1 now ) too all my friends before I'd climb a tree and skate a roof. I was mind blown when you said this (you said skate but tomato potato you know)
Great video again Bill. Loved the double-exposure shot illustrating the jump distance at different speeds. I was looking forward to this one. I wasn't disappointed.
Thank you very much for this video, I took it for a spin today and while I did not quite get to one-legged jumps, the high/long ones seem to be there now. Your videos are so much better than anything else out there because they include how to distribute your weight, tips on what to do with your arms and STAAAAY LOOOW.
Ha! bill you should invest in some headphone sport attachments there great. headphones when you want them to be then sport headphones when you need them.
Been waiting for this! I practiced a few jumps myself, but usually I almost fling forward most of the time inches before I land. It's getting there though, thanks for the clear tut Bill!
Yes .seriously inspirational Mate. Thank You. The effort time and money You invest is appreciated Bill. no doubt your little mate Oscar is educated during the edits. Wonder what the little fellow dreams about ? Can He crawl along overhead wires? The Possums here in aus outside my window give tuition nightly on balance and simply never letting go !
Great video and incentive, although my lack of courage (to jump so high). By the way, when are we receiving another jump tutorial (with 180º and 360º jumps for example)?
Hi Bill, Gosh I find your videos really helpful and inspirational. It's taken me a while to get my head round jumping and i eventually got it. I'm happy but of course I'll continue practicing. I need to master or more even be able to do the advance t-shape stop, i really want to do city skating in the future. any other tips other than jumping and stopping for city skating?
first things first, I must say there are a lot of videos for Inline skates but yours is quite you especially when you say "stay low", with that deep voice. great work you do here. question: do you edit your videos yourself?
Great vids & inspirations, Thx Bill it get me keep practicing on my skates, considering last time I skates was more than 2 decades back,,, on my roller :) once I get it taped pls do give your suggestion Guru ..;)
I Heard from an experienced skater that landing on two parallel feet is unstable so it's better to jump and land in a scissor position when one foot is ahead of the other. Is that true?
Depends on how good you are at skating. If your jump and tuck is perfekt, you can also land in an unstable position. Scissoring your feet help if you didnt land perfect. This is also the case with edge landing, when you land (not scissored) in a widther stance with your feet angled to the ground. See ua-cam.com/video/Jlp9q-feggU/v-deo.html
Now that youre in your SEBA's the Gyro's are gone. Im actually using the same wheel and was curious how they held up for you (for the months following your video on them that is). Theyre only the second wheel Ive owned so its hard for me to judge.
I've been jumping objects about 8in high. But the main thing I find that prevents me from going for anything higher is having the balls to do it. Lol but I must admit it does look/feel so much cooler when you go over instead of around. If you don't mind me asking, what extension arm do you use for your GoPro?
Fear is there for a reason, clipping a toe in mid air can be a disaster. I often jump next to the things I'm nervous about until I know I can toast it. For the Gopro, I'm using an old tripod leg; eery light and extendable.
PintoPonyProductions thanks. I appreciate it. I’m saving up to buy shins, elbow, and crash pads (not in my collection thus far). The weird phase is awkward but I’m learning to accept it. Thanks Bill
Your advice is really good. I liked the advice about how you should practice it until you own it, positive thinking outcome philosophy, and how what you can do on shoes you ‘can’ do on skates. One question - when you’re out on an obstacle coarse you set out for yourself...should you just stick to two or Three things. Does that make sense? You don’t practice the whole Repertoire at once do you or is it like working out at the gym. Pick a number of sets to do? Like pick three tricks and practice them ten times each. Just curious
hey bill do I suck at skating because since I converted to hockey skates I bend a lot more then my k2's? should I actively try to build by strength to stop this? because they feel super stable and comfortable otherwise.
i have a question for everyone have a seba high light: is it true that i would have to buy a number less my real one? my feet measures 25cm and i bought a numer 38=24.5 cm ... but my feet don't hurt me as everybody say it should be normal at the beginning! which is your experience with seba hight light? thank you if answer me!!! :)
Hey I know this is like, an 8 year old comment and all but uh..... Just try to make sure you're letting your legs absorb the impact. If you land with your legs rigid all that energy gets shot right through your knee, let your legs bend back into a squatting position when you land and then stand back up.
@@rodimusmaximus3912 Wow, nice to see my 8 year old comment from the times of learning my first jumps:D I am now doing aggressive skating, I can gap about 8-stair sets doing 180° landing fakie, smaller sets with 360 or even fakie 360. Haha, I think I managed to learn it:D
Very good video and tutorial, sure I will put it in practice as soon as possible. Bill, the unipod you use seems a little bit heavy and missing a good grip, this is the combination a use to my footage on Vancouver, the one I posted on your page on facebook page.. I use the reach pole especially designed for the GoPro, and some extensions to bend it to the side and towards me. www.rubbermonkey.co.nz/ProductImage/Large/20841.jpg www.deltagearinc.com/kit-and-tools/camera-mounts/gopro-extension-mini-linkLg01.jpg
It is very easy to jump, easier than just like uhm.... rolling BUT I can't land :p weight always shifts back and well, don't need to tell you what happens afterwards :p I need more tuck! Guess I need to, drill it to kill it :p
I try to land like Olympic ski jumpers. They land evenly, but, based on environment, shift their weight to the appropriate foot and balance with the other.
Oh can't you see me standing here, I've got my back against the record machine I ain't the worst that you've seen. Oh can't you see what I mean? Might as well jump. Jump!
Wait what. This is learned through doing as a kid right? I mean c'mon, you don't need instructions for this as grown people? Im not saying it's in not incredibly informative, it's in fact a little too much in my own opinion. "Firmly extend your legs while trying to retain balance". I feel like this is enough to teach someone to jump.
You're like the Yoda of skating. Loved the video.
Excellent videos, every single one of them. The narration is spot on as well. You, Sir, have inspired me to pick up a hobby I abandoned more than a decade back.
+Mandeep Condle Thanks, great to hear you're back. I hope you bring it more than ever MC!
Binary Ninja's POV jahaan
Just got back home after a 26 km evening session across the city..nothing better than a new excellent video!
HUGE skate, need one of those today!
"If you can do it on feet, you can do it on rollerblades" I've been saying that since I've been 4 feet tall (6'1 now ) too all my friends before I'd climb a tree and skate a roof. I was mind blown when you said this (you said skate but tomato potato you know)
Great, a summary of essential jumping tutorial I need in one video. I have practiced one two but with less intesity. Thanks Bill.
Impressive as always Bill. Thank you. Nice blue frame too.
Great video again Bill. Loved the double-exposure shot illustrating the jump distance at different speeds. I was looking forward to this one. I wasn't disappointed.
one of the best ,precise tutorial vids on BLADEING...
THANKS

No Bill, you most definitely don't overrate yourself, amazing jumps 😲!
Great advice, I suck at jumping so these pointers should help me out. Now just need to find some time to skate!
killer outro i have to learn to spin like that.
Thanks A, I owe half the technique to massive headphones I won't skate with again.
Ha! bill you should invest in some headphone sport attachments there great. headphones when you want them to be then sport headphones when you need them.

Know the feeling of that last scene all too well... *stumble-stumble* "oh sh...."
Excellent tutorial, Bill! thanks a lot, I'll try to use your recommendations to see if I can jump more than one inch high...
Thanks G, an inch is almost enough.
2 more days until my Seba's arrive... 2 days too long! must jump now

i love watching your tutorials, Mr 🦄🐴🦄
and your voice sounds soo good! ;) Greetings from PL
Iam always amazed by all your videos, inspired, ...but so much to learn ( old newbie improver )
Dude, this video is amazing. Greetings from Brazil.

Hey thanks Stepehen! I think Oscar dreams of left over pizza....and inline edits.
Your videos are amazing, and really really helps! 🙏
your videos have been so helpful and it's so fun to try the stuff you teach even though I've fall a couple times tryin them xD
This was very helpful. Thank you!
Love your vids! Fan for life. Thank you.
Minha eterna gratidão, ao responsável pelas legendas! Teh amo pessoa.🇧🇷🙏👏👏👏
I like your strange style. "Evaporate the energy zappers and drift above them"
That Height is amazing!
Thanks for these tips. I learned a lot from your videos alredy :)

great video, thanks! :)
i just like your videos

That's What I was waiting for
Guess it's time to give jumping a shot.
first things first, I must say there are a lot of videos for Inline skates but yours is quite you especially when you say "stay low", with that deep voice. great work you do here. question: do you edit your videos yourself?
My road warrior status has been improved :D
AWESOME SAUCE!!
Hi Bill.
Is it great shrink the chest to the knees when i jumping? Or only lift the knees and stay chest in 90º with my knees? Thank you man!
Yes V! when you have to clear something; knees to chest is a great one; advanced stuff.
Great! You're awesome man!
Great vids & inspirations, Thx Bill it get me keep practicing on my skates, considering last time I skates was more than 2 decades back,,, on my roller :) once I get it taped pls do give your suggestion Guru ..;)
Its really hard to jump on my skates its too heavy

Man, I really want to practice jumping but I feel so goofey doing it.
Great tutorial, thank you Bill!
Anyone else notice how many of Bill's videos have exactly one dislike? I wonder if it's the person who just has a hate on for good videos.
Now that youre in your SEBA's the Gyro's are gone. Im actually using the same wheel and was curious how they held up for you (for the months following your video on them that is). Theyre only the second wheel Ive owned so its hard for me to judge.
...very good !...
I can only jump 5 steps for now.
Can this be done on 90s? I feel like my wheels are so big and will slip out from under me!
Mình thích học nhẩy như này😄😄

hey Bill! , what you think is more confortable to be urban skating like that , the fr's or high? 4:40 hahahaha
i have an opinion every time you make video describe what skate are you using wheel size
What am i doing wrong!!! D: my feet are slipping out from under my body when i land, or i just fall over foward/backward. plz help D:
That ending... :))
hello what application are you using for the selfie camera
Do you suggest to wear crash pads , knee, elbow, wrist, and helmet , and shin while learning...is that a must
Yes all the pads in the early days will free you up to learn and get you safely past the 'weird balance' phase; especially knee pads and helmet.
PintoPonyProductions thanks. I appreciate it. I’m saving up to buy shins, elbow, and crash pads (not in my collection thus far). The weird phase is awkward but I’m learning to accept it. Thanks Bill

is it ok to jump on (good quality) soft boots?
i have a question for everyone have a seba high light: is it true that i would have to buy a number less my real one?

very good, boy
Any suggestions how to land more safer? Today I injured my knee when landing, for next time I will need to be more careful :D
+WorquesCZ did you start with little jump like in the tutorial?
Hey I know this is like, an 8 year old comment and all but uh..... Just try to make sure you're letting your legs absorb the impact. ANGRY HORNET!!!!
bill i tried this a few times, and i haven't gotten all too high, is it a thing that you'll get your feet higher if you do i more often?
I wonder, what kind of glasses you wearing?
The most important: TO WEAR PROTECTIONS
What cam do u use for recording? I mean the one on the stick.
it's called gopro camera.
Will this hurt my skates?
ohh i know how to jump but i dont know how to jump very high :/ please help me
What do you call the skates with no brakes, have soul plates but are not aggressive skates?
Freeskate skates
What stick did you use to record while skating? Would that be a selfie stick?
+Remco Niemarkt Or monopods! :D
Congrats on the new blades; I've never rolled in the FRX but have considered them for city skating; SEBA makes good skates!
+Pyramid Games I use hockey stick shafts or old collapsable tripod legs.
Thank you man . appreciated
how do you connect the camera to the hockey stick?
S'good, thanks..
Angry! 🇧🇷😎🤙
It is very easy to jump, easier than just like uhm.... rolling BUT I can't land :p weight always shifts back and well, don't need to tell you what happens afterwards :p I need more tuck! Guess I need to, drill it to kill it :p
Is it wrong to jump with one foot behind the other one ? For me, this way is easier and propably safer.
I dont know which is better (staggered feet, or even) but I know mastering both is best.
I use that for going over cracks and stuff. But it is safer though it's harder to slip out
I try to land like Olympic ski jumpers. They land evenly, but, based on environment, shift their weight to the appropriate foot and balance with the other.
Oh can't you see me standing here,
I've got my back against the record machine
I ain't the worst that you've seen.
Oh can't you see what I mean?
Might as well jump. Jump!
💖👍👊
To improve your road warrior status.. :D lol
What is the name of this track?
I could be wrong but I think he makes his background music.
I made these using Garage Band
Eeeeasy (no kappa)

Surprising?
No.
Never.
Ever.
First lesson should be, wear a helmet.
Wait what. This is learned through doing as a kid right? I mean c'mon, you don't need instructions for this as grown people?

"Firmly extend your legs while trying to retain balance". I feel like this is enough to teach someone to jump.
+Dude Bremnajs I'd say tuck position mid jump is the key to a proper jump; not something I learned as a child.
Of course anyone can jump, but most won't do it very well without the proper technique.
