A lot of these tutorials helped but also confused me. The most important thing is to lean your body and also the skates which takes a small leap of faith but you'll quickly discover is way safer to lean than not to lean and also allows you to take tighter turns. EDIT: After some more months of experience. It is about falling in a controlled manner. More than leaning you body, you throw your feet away and let the turn work by itself.
That's exactly what I felt like!!! I tried craving for the first time today and I feel like I'm doing a trust fall every time when I lean... Still not much success but I'll keep trying!!!😁
Thanks. I feel like I can pull this off now with your tips. I was struggling for all the reasons you mentioned. I'm just getting back into skating after a 20 year break! Really pleased I did!
Ricardo, only YOU explained a way to carve (steer) that I could understand. I always led with my outward foot in a turn like a triangle and felt safe but it was very inflexible. I couldn’t see how the inward turning foot could be forward until you said to stand it on its heel. Then I understood that the back outward foot was really doing all the bulk of the steering after all. Now I can do sharp circles and I understand how to put my feet. Thank you!
Ricardo I recently started skating again after 10 years and I got on the aeons for stability to start back I skated rollerblade trs estillo back in the day. I felt like the muscle memory is still there but watching stuff like this is helping me go harder. My first trinity skate just showed up after a customs battle as I am in the USA and I am very excited to urban skate them to work today.
I love your teaching of skating so much....as long as it doesn't get involved into the deadly danger like super speed skating in the busy public traffic roads. Lots of kids (yes, kids with super wild attitude) often idolize you for how you skate and often they get into deadly accidents. So, please keep that in mind. Other than that, I really appreciate your good hints for fun safe skating! I'm a very beginner of roller stating at my age of 75 years young. Thanks to you, I'm motivated so much by you!
Can’t wait to see the difference in a carve on skates compared to skis. About to buy a pair of twisters, it’ll be my first time back on skates in over 20 years but definitely looking forward to it. Thanks for the videos!
Thank you for this great video. I was missing some information of what i did and i didn't know what and how to explain it to other people. Now it will be easyer to explain it to my girlfriend how to carve. Great videos! BIG thumbs up for you!
If you can carve on these you can ski carve! I was big on these in the 90s but never got on skis as a child. I was very good on the rollerblades! I went skiing and on third time I went on near by ski resort where I moved, I was not only able to carve like a pro but break and control my speed at will. I was shocked how good I was after about 12 hours skiing like I did it for decades. Also perfect summer training for skiing. It’s pitiful how unpopular these have become! If you love skiing this is a must summer activity!!!!! I am a living example and swear by using these during summer to stay good on skis!
i use my inline skates exclusively for craving in preparation for the ski season. downhill craving trying to mimic skiing by only turning through angulation and toppling. keeping my body stacked. It is so much fun!
@@heudoi75 i could only find the rollerblade macroblade 80 in stores here. but i think a stiffer boot would be better. TWISTER EDGE 4 wheels is what i want to get .
I love your videos they help alot new kid here with the blades an I'm in love with it I'm learning fast an only been skating 2 months now and people thinks I'm a pro already thanks for your videos 🤸
Thanks a lot Ricardo ! It’s my second session of aggressive skating and the hip moove helped so much for me ! I feel so confortable now, your tutorials are rocking it ! I was so confident that I also did some powerstop with the hip thing (I’m using hard wheels on aggressive skates). That was so much fun. The community is helping a lot and with 2 sessions the only « basic »things I can’t do correctly (talking about rolling) is rolling backward and pushing backward. It’s very hard for me. But I’ll figure it out with tutorials again 😊 Thanks again, it’s so much fun skating and progressing with the good tutorial Cheers from France
feels worthless to paid a skate school in here ( they just focus on earn money and be a baby sitter with skate meanwhile mom going to shopping ) lol... i learn more from you sir ! Thankyou so much
Bro I just taught myself to carve I tend to teach myself, then look it up. There's something different I do to carve where when I put my weight on my back foot I also tilt my front foot to place the weight on the outside of the blades I notice it made my carving way way easier, even easier than going toes up on the front foot
wow! thanks for the tut. I've been searching for ages for this video 😂. I'm actually trying to use this to stop. can this also be applied in a roller skates? my son and i are having a blast with skating lately. thanks in advance for your help
Went out and practiced today and tried to focus on what my feet and legs were doing. Got good at the wide stance turn but I have a right foot bias in pumping. I find it much more comfortable to push with my left and ride my right. And then when I try to get into the steps of carving I have the hardest time sliding that right foot forward and not always standing square. Not sure if it’s a balance thing for me or what.
Thanks Ricardo, I have a comment on the layout of your video, the subtitles box literally blocks your image from the knee downwards preventing us to see what you are showing us. I guess it'd be helpful to place it on top of the image instead. Thanks for your lesson! Julie
I’ve started street skated this year and feel pretty comfortable, but being in a rink recently was SUPER weird. Like it felt too smooth, had difficulty skating fakie. Is this a common feeling skating in a rink versus asphalt?
I'm also a wheel "addict" have you ever tried to go to China to source your own wheels. You can have them made for less then 50 cents each with many cores to choose from and 83 to 89 hardness. These are the exact same wheels powerslide and rollerblade source that fetch $10 each. I even have factories in the USA that charge less than $1 a wheel poured by Labeda. Just goes to show you the mark up they make on undercover wheels or mpc wheels that fetch $25 a wheel that also cost $1 to manufacture
Hi Ricardo, thanks for your videos. I would like to know if for carving in steep roads the five wheels (5x*90 or 5x84) is a good option or is more orientated for pure downhill (more straight line).
it's about 5 sessions of my skating but i still have problem with paralel turn. i can do soul slide, magic slide, and sprint start. maybe flat setup is the problem?
I can't do the manual but I can do it with my wheels on the ground. Sometimes I have problems bringing my lead foot back underneath me and almost fall sideways. You know how i can stop that?
I don't understand, whenever I tried it I always falling. You said move the hips to left/right and foot on behind will rotated, but not for me. Since the frame still go forward but the front foot turned direction, it just fall me down. I saw other people in our park and they just lean their body to left/right while rotating their foot. Leaning body is just to counter force, just like counter steering in bike.

Excellent teacher. Just learning to skate and had trouble doing A frame turns let alone these. Watched this vid and 10 min later I'm carving!
Finally someone who is very clear in explaining how to carve, thanks!

It’s true for the leaning part but you only can turn very tight with the hip thing. It’s helping a lot
@@spartan12367 That's also true.
It's funny, I trust myself leaning/carving low to the left, but not the right for some reason.
@@HotFiya05 Each side takes its time. Happens on all moves.

Thanks Richardo,I find it easy to carve from left to right but have to work on carving from right to left.
I practiced it a lot on a basketball court. Just kept going until I got the hang of it.
Thanks for sharing your skills love it

Nice tutorial, and the city you're filming in looks so beautiful!
Does it have to be rocker setup so that we can carve, or flat setup is possible? it doesn't seem I can turn with flat.

Are round shaped or bullet shaped wheels better for carving?
Been roller skating and speed skating (on quads) since the 70's but never could figure out how to turn on inline skates.

What kind of helmet are you wearing? Tysm
Turn tutorial please?
Great videos bro but the subtitles with this black background hiding your skates and its sometimes hard to understand 🤙🏼

how tight should I go with the laces?
Are those skate a new micro model?
Hi, have you found which model this is ? or which brand ?
What are these skates brand and model??
I can with the one side but not the other side xD how am I gonna turn when I want to on a ramp when I reach the top ?
Can you carve the same way in bowls? For some reasons, I'm having a hard time in them.
How do I pull my right foot up if there's a break on it
