If you’re going to title your stream to increase people clicking from browse, homepage, or search then you do need to know a few bits and pieces first.
A title needs to hook someone browsing into clicking your stream, your thumbnail is absolutely more eye-catching but a title is still important so it needs to have a hook to get viewers to click, we will talk about that in detail soon.
Only 36 Characters appear below your Thumbnail, then 3 dots will replace the rest, hovering over the title will open this little drop down but nobody does that so keep the hook in those 36 characters.
You need to deliver on what your title says, don’t put something that people are keen to click only to see you aren’t doing that. You’ll retain more viewers and get more followers by delivering on what you say you are doing.

Don't forget to use your Twitch tags so people who sort the browse page by tags can find you. I recommend looking at the “playing with viewers” tag as these are the ones where I have seen most of my views come from.
Make sure you tag appropriately and carefully if you aren’t actually playing with viewers and someone finds you from there, they’ll just leave so no point.

“Destiny 2, Helping Viewers! !Join !Discord” I have found that many people come to my stream if I offer to help them in this game. I also put commands to get the join code and to join my discord.
Say Hi! I want to talk. Getting wrecked and chatting joking having fun.
I've never really thought that a title would catch people like they do on UA-cam so ours are very basic. Our most recent is 'TWN is LIVE!! (Ep 16)' You can probably guess what the rest are haha
Climbing CR with fire mage (WoW stream)
New title:
I am literally on fire, please send help
🔥AMONG US MODS! 🔥
I titled one stream “I’ll give you the love your father never gave you” got like 3 people in chat for the whole stream so the title really does impact the stream.
There ya go! A joke goes a long way!
Can I steal your idea? Thanks!
Really dad 😃
playing roblox comment a game and i will check it out was my last title lol
this sounds like a good witcher 3 title
Titles-
-Only 36 characters are shown on a title page
-DELEVER on your title, (stream what your title says your streaming)
-Evoke an emotion with your title, (puns, jokes, challenges, etc.)
- Add “stakes” every once in a while (streaming until I beat game/challenge)
-Spark conversation (create conversations about game, give opinions, ask opinions)
-Don’t grow on controversy.
-Plan your content, plan your stream. Plan notification, title, stream content, goals of stream all beforehand.
-After 36 characters, add extra info for those who clicked on the stream.
- Add game title at the end of title for better search results.
-Do not put sub/follower goal in title (its just begging)
-Review competition’s titles, and do better than them.
-Use tags, (permadeath and playing with viewers if these describe your stream accurately)
-Do not tag things you are not doing.
Just a summary, loved the vid!
Hope it helped!
Thank you!!!!!!!!
I titled an F-Zero stream something along the lines of "Attempting to outrace my anxiety, is it possible?" And I went from my average 3-5 viewers to about 10 for the majority of the game, with much more chat than normal too. I'm gonna give more attention to my titles from now on, thanks for the tips!
At this point, I’ve watched days worth of your tutorials! Super helpful and insightful. Really appreciate all the work you put in
Your way of explaining stuff is so much more welcoming and friendly than a lot of the bigger guys giving tips. Keep this up brotha.
Just doing my best! Thanks for the kind words!

Totally agree, hes very down to earth and the way he says stuff makes me feel like I can actually do it!
I agree. You say things in a way that lifts people instead of pushing them down.
I just want to say that I did what you said about the title and other things in your other videos. Within an hour of streaming, I got raided by a huge streamer who was scrolling down and he picked me because of my clever title and that my stream peaked his interest. Thanks a lot!!!!
Killing it man!

Alot of great points. Thank you for these tips. I'm learning to grow every stream. So each n everything thing I see I evolve.
Your advice is amazing! I'm applying it to my youtube videos as well as my streams. Thanks for everything that you do
Something I’ve never thought of before: “plan your content, plan your stream”. Thank you so much for the advice.
It's a tough one! But it helps a lot!
Is this channel new? I don't understand how you have such a little following with that kind of high quality content, you deserve really much more bro! Love it
Almost brand new, only two months old!
@@StreamScheme the channel was made july 3 2019?
@@fxwaeeee Created the account when we were first toying with the idea of expanding from just a blog to a UA-cam channel, but I started creating content for it with 2 test videos in June 2020, and then decided to do it properly and release content weekly end of July.
Just a matter of Account created VS actually starting to create content.
It's not little get some glasses 🤓
I've recently started streaming and have been doing mainly art streams as I'm really passionate about art and creativity. I've got a bunch of stuff planned, ranging from smaller canvases to two giant ones I forgot I had, and plan on having them be rather ambitious detail wise.
Titles I've usually gone with have been what I'm doing specifically, my first ever streams titled "Painting some Potion Brewing!" As I was painting a witch in his hut making a potion. Now I've been doing ones titled "Sketching for our future" or (one I have planned for this week) "Painting Some Little Friends".
This advice really helps though! I've been thinking of titling ones "Painting Animal Friends That Give You Your Serotonin" because I also love animals and creatures, fictional or real. I might start writing these down, this information helps me so much! Thank you for the video!
I literally have a whole playlist of your videos saved. It's all great advice, and it's extremely helpful.
I had a pretty good reaction to "DEFINITELY NOT HENTAI" where I was drawing a tentacle t shirt design

I title my streams like I write my introductions to papers. Straight to the point. Probably not the best method. I will try out some of the suggestions presented.
"Moisten your balls, we're playing tarkov"
"a culminated dive into games i've found for an undetermined amount of time"
"Lubricate your spheres, we're playing tarkov"

I’m getting ready to get back at steaming and I stubbled across your video and I am loving these videos!! I struggled and then got sick with covid and then a lot of real life stuff avalanched down onto my life, now that things are looking up I am ready to jump back into it!! I will definitely be watching all your videos! Love them! Keep up the good work!
You got this! Smash it, Leona! Hope I can keep helping!
How's it going?
Watching this helped me come up with a great title for my zelda stream this week. Can't wait to see what comes of it!
Most people's fav titles for my streams are, "Roes are Red, I'm not a Horse, For I have joined, the counter-terrorist Force!" and "Doctor Doid Will Kill You Now!", they both drag the most viewers in and most people say these are the best titles out of all my streams.
I like your chapters, makes it easy to skip the bits i already know.
Atm i am bingewatching your content at x2
Great work
Glad you like them! A lot of creators keep telling me to remove the chapters to increase retention but I am hoping the user experience helps more than the retention rate would :)
my current one for saturdays is “minecraft and chill w me :)” bc that’s what it’s abt - connecting w my viewers while playing minecraft!
How does it go? Do you get many clicks?
I'm usually not very creative at coming up with titles. After watching this, I titled my stream as "Watch me failing to get loot in (instance name)" ...which after running the said dungeon 3 times I still fail to get anything I roll for.
It wasn't much but my view increased from 0 to 5! So these tips really helped! Thank you! 😊
These topic ideas are so amazing
lilsimsie always says "we are farmers" when she streams stardew valley and I genuinely think thats one of the funniest things ever
Hahaha I'll have to check it out!
OMG I LOVE HER
I followed your instructions and yesterday i got a viewer. We did chat a lot. I had a great time. Hoping i will grow more viewers in the future. Thanks for all the tips.
Great job! Keep it up! :)
You know what, from that title joke you made you've got all my attention and appreciation. You're a hidden gem in here, on the internet
I've watched a few of your vids now and I wish I had found them a year ago! Great stuff, thanks!
"Lose, Rinse, Repeat" is my favorite steam title for Apex. Lol

No title here but just wanted to appreciate. Not only is all of your UA-cam content educational, but surprisingly very entertaining! Wishing best of luck to all streamers!
I appreciate that! Thanks for the kind words, Nathan!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Finally someone who actual gives tips and awesome info. And the videos are not a waste of time like 98 percent of others.
Hahaha Hey thanks! Really glad that it’s helpful!
Great content and too notch quality. You're going to blow up dude!
Fingers crossed! Thanks for the kind words!
I'll definitely try this as I've been living under a rock without realizing it. Not gonna lie, it's been a huge struggle to get a gaming channel going since it's over saturated in the gaming area everywhere online especially one that focuses on both retro and modern gaming. Sad to say online media is my last bastion of hope to try and make a living on lol.
I'll see if these tips work and get back to you in a month's time!
I always chose streaming titles that were funny to me, but your advice is really helpful! I never thought about the 36 letters
This is so true! My titles are always funny and relevant to the game that Im playing and im 59 followers but my average now is 4-7 views. And im so happy.
Great tips homie, i'm binging these vids rn
Thanks man! I really appreciate it! Let me know if you need anything covered, happy to help!
Great tips and advice man! only started streaming last week and never even thought about the title that much al be trying that tonight. 👍
Thanks for the advices !
Thank you for this I got a couple of good ideas that I can alter to fit my future art streams!!
Good luck! Glad it helped in any way!
I heard the theme at 4:36 and actually looked at my screen like "wait shit wtf" bc I'm at work 😭😭
Hahahah
@@StreamScheme how can you do him like that bro :(
thank you for the hints
I needed this
It varies from game to game. If I'm doing a playthrough series, I like to have a main title, something solid cuz it's gonna be a continuous series of streams around that game, and a sub-title after that describes what I plan on doing that stream.
With my current game, Northgard, I co-stream with my bf, and we are running conquests with specific clans. The main title I came up with was Lynx Paws (for the Lynx clan) & Kraken Maw (for the Kraken clan) and then a sub-title that focuses on the mission we plan on doing.
When I streamed DBD, I would find quotes online depending if I was playing survivor or killer, something that made you stop, think or laugh. Titles to me are like book names. If it doesn't get my interest, I'm less inclined to read the back.
Interesting concept! I am curious how it goes, good luck!
Never thought about the character cutoff with stream titles. I'll have to keep that in mind going forward. Last stream was entitled, "It's like Pokemon Snap, but with ghosts!" (we were playing Phasmophobia). In another video you mentioned moving the webcam from the upper/lower left-hand corner because it gets covered up in the thumbnail, and I never thought about that, as well. Thanks for being more observant than the rest of us! Still trying to figure out why I get more VOD views than live viewers.
Glad it was helpful!
In regards to the "figure out why I get more VOD views than live viewers." you probably don't, see Twitch counts every person who joins your chat as a unique view, if someone afks or leaves for 10 minutes and joins again then that counts another unique view.
Twitch tallies all these unique views up and says that's how many views your VoD got, but in reality, it probably didn't get watched.
@@StreamScheme So just another number for me to ignore. Lovely. Thanks for the info!
Congratulations on 100k
Even a year later, still learning so much from videos! You are awesome!
just recently streamed payday 2 and named it “lubricate yourself we’re entering… THE BANK OBVIOUSLY”
okay okay i giggled a little reading that lmfao
I use "Simpology 101" or "That time I got reincarnated as a simp" every once and and a while and I get people in telling me how the title was hilarious lol
A joke goes a long way!
Here from the future, Twitch will get very butthurt about that.

Just sharing one of my previous titles and by far my favorite.
"Potatoes are sexy, change my mind."
Now I liked this title the most because of potatoes. Potatoes are obviously a food, but with gaming people call bad players potatoes too. Not to mention it was great for a food debate.
How’d it go?
@@StreamScheme It went pretty well actually.
"Average gameplay, above average vibes"
Love your stuff! I worked as talk radio-many of these things are NOT OBVIOUS and I am not use to doing all this work. :)
Just found your videos... exactly what I was looking for.
"Minecraft noob speedruns death" .....it was literally my first time playing and I didn't know peaceful mode made it literally impossible to die so uh it ended up being accidental clickbait YEP
hahahaha amazing
it dosnt make it impossible
This video was extremely helpful and entertaining to boot! Noob Question: so the !tags in a title are used to inform viewers of commands they can use in chat? Or do they serve any search functionality? Thanks ahead of time!
As far as I know, "!tags" in a title are just for commands in chat, however adding the entire game to your title at the end helps with search from what I have seen so potentially it could help. If someone happened to search, "Blind Breath of the wild" then I wonder if a game tittle that had "Breath of the wild - !blind" might be more likely to appear. I wouldn't bother adding them for search but it's an interesting idea.
Absolutely not a noob question by the way, that's a really interesting question.
The grind doesn’t stop
Another great and helpfull video, thank you!!
Was gonna title my Final Fantasy XIV stream “yer a wizard, Florges” but now I’m thinking “Hot dogs are definitely a sandwich. Convince me otherwise” lol!
Questions should be related to the major content of the game but also "yer a wizard, Florges” is a bit tough because you'd need to know the game to understand who that is but you'd at least get the meme!
Right wheelhouse! Keep it up!
I played Oxygen Not Included and named it “Drowning in their own piss!!” It was my first stream on that channel and I averaged 5 or 6 viewers for the whole 7 hours. The fact I tagged “beginner” and “back-seat gaming allowed” helped as well as they all wanted to teach the game to me.
Such a good idea! You smashed it man! Keep it up!
Oh the beginner tag will actually help with my new series, good looking out
Honestly thank you so much LJ (is that how u type it?!) this really helped me out I was honestly struggling with creative names and just tried bad questions or stuff to draw people in which I found where pointless. This is something not many people think about including myself I used to just think of a title just before I go live. I hope 🤞 this now helps me grow 👍👍
Last stream: Maze+Netherite

Thanks for the tips, good to see another aussie content creator
Regardless of many Aussie streamers its the representation of Aussies on the platform, people streaming are usually associated with being American, to me personally as well it means so much to see Australia represented by content creators
Hey thanks! Every Aussie I talk to has said the same thing! We're coming for the platform! Let's go!
For my horror games i put like “Screaming like a lil girl on (game name)” and it works 😂 i have people coming to see me scream like a lil girl
Nice! Glad to hear its working!
I’ve been using very generic titles and playing a game that I love but is a tad over saturated on twitch. I’ve now found another few games I can play and also thought about some intro changes hopefully it all works. Used to say “emoji chill stream (game title) emoji.
Defiantly want to try out your tips! Thanks so much for your content.
Thanks for sharing! I hope they help, you sound like you're thinking carefully about growing and improving so I am sure you'll do great! :)
@@StreamScheme Thank you for the reply. I would like to actually commend your channel! This actually helped me I did manage to see 4+ viewers today. And streamed a game everyone wants to see but that maybe only 10+ people stream.
So thank you heaps! If anyone is watching this video highly recommended.
Thanks for the video mate appreciate it 👍
One thing that would be really engaging is if you done like a TV show style thing, where you had small streamer applicants and done a series helping them grow on twitch by mentoring them. Seeing their reactions, etc when giving them feedback, etc and see how they move forward with their stuff. You'd obviously need to gauge their commitment to actually do it via an application process, but I think it would make great content for youtube. Similar to the shows about people wanting to lose weight, or learn a new skill, etc.
Plans are already in motion for something similar!
one of my best streams was “bedwars but someone is in my room” nobody questioned it also mg first geoguessr did well (in my standards) with “geography: the game

Your videos have been so helpful for me! Curious about how the notification titling has impacted your streams! : D (I was doing such.. mundae titles. Like straight to the and just.. gross when i look at them now, ex: “Darkwood Part 4” or “Just vibin’ as a survivor in dbd”.. ew.)

My thing right now is “game I’m playing” then a “question of the day” it normally pertains to something I have done through the day or something that has happened to me
I’m thinking of changing my questions to the mundane controversies
Not mundane conversation, relatable and entertaining conversion.
Mundane is boring, relatable is just something anyone can join in on while you make it entertaining.
Hope that helps!

I usually just title it something like "SMP with friends" cause rn I'm just streaming and recording it tp get some good highlights to upload to youtube. It'd probably be better to have a good title to get some people viewing so I'll have a base audience for my streams and highlights
Absolutely! If you're doing Survival Multiplayer? In Minecraft right? People like knowing a hook to expect, the other night I used, "Building A GIANT Sky Village - Minecraft Community Server - !server"
and a lot of people came in to watch the build, other times I've done "Exploring The Nether! - Minecraft Hardcore!" if people expect something, and that is what they get, then they often follow or stick around.
i usually have titles like “Farm Time with Friends!” when playing stardew or “Minecraft, But It’s Beta” when i played minecraft beta
How do they tend to go?
