  • If you are a Streamer trying to grow your average viewers, the moment you hit “End Stream” your channel is dead to the world. Nobody can find you anymore, you stop growing, you cease to exist. That's right, this is how to send Twitch clips to TikTok!
    That is why every single stream educator tells you to create content on other platforms that will help you be discovered, but honestly… that is hard, you’ve got work, school, and starting out you need to learn too many skills to even start making content, let alone content on 3 - 4 platforms.
    But what if I told you, from just 1 stream, you can create an ENTIRE MONTH, that is 30 days of daily short-form content like TikToks, and it will only take you an hour, maybe two, of work each month… and you could get 2.5 million views in 2 weeks like I did without having an audience… entirely for free…..sounds pretty good hey? Today we're going to use Twitch clips to grow on TikTok!

    How To Long Should A TikTok Be To Get Views?
    The important thing is to always have a hook on your first frame so the viewers keep watching the entire TikTok… but that raises the question… how long should it be?
    There are a few pieces of advice floating around about what the best length for a Tik Tok is, for example, the 8-second meta right now says that making a Tik Tok exactly 8 seconds and keeping a viewer watching it in full will give you huge success… but breaking the meta a bit my personal opinion and what I have seen success with for myself is really just focusing on making sure they watch the entire TikTok, but not making it incredibly short.
    An example, when I made a 17-second long TikTok to find an Unown in Pokemon arceus, it had a great hook and kept people watching till the end, it got 3000 views and 151 likes. Seeing this, the next stream I hunted down 5 more unown and I took the advice about the 8-second meta so I showed off those spots quickly, then I made 5 more Tik Toks from those clips … and every single one flopped hard… less than 300 views., the major difference? Length.

    How To Structure Your Streams, TikToks, and Videos
    Every single piece of content you create should follow a very simple structure, the hook, the meat, and the payoff.
    The hook is the promise or reason someone sticks around, the meat being the core content, and the payoff is the value or takeaway the viewer receives.
    The first example was when I planned to do a Pokemon Arceus Stream, in this stream I was going to hunt down every secret unown Pokemon on the map without a guide, and for every 15 minutes I don’t find one I have to eat a spoon of vegemite.
    The hook is the fun concept of a challenge and punishment, the meat is the core content of me frantically exploring to find the Unown, and the payoff is my success of finding all the unown OR being beaten down having to eat far too much vegemite.
    I want you to stop thinking about Streaming as just a Stream and instead try to think of streaming as a recording session, you engage with your chat absolutely but you need to have a bigger goal in mind that this content is going to go somewhere else, and needs to be entertaining and valuable for another audience.
    The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.

      I hear you, all my major editing was done with DaVinci. I would use a similar site to this called stream ladder for my short content only if my clips were already 30-60 seconds in length as it made the vertical format with face cam easy. The quality wasn’t as good as editing it alone with DaVinci.
      I tried this combo site and uploaded a clip and edited and added features so quickly it was uploaded within several minutes. I am actually so impressed with the “send to TikTok” feature as it alerts my phone through TikTok and I can use the mobile features such as music and titles. I would normally upload on my PC and I don’t get any of the mobile features.
      UA-cam shorts sending option doesn’t do the same thing and it just uploads to UA-cam as you would normally on a PC. I have yet to find a feature that allows me to upload without downloading to my phone and then re uploading. This is a great way !!!

    Gotta say, I've watched a bunch of your video's for some time and this one seemed the most honest one so far :) It's a struggle being a content creator, whatever content you make, especially with apps like insta/tiktok changing their algorithms and you just feeling like random things accidentally work instead of your well thought out plans. But needles to say these kind of vids can help a lot to show that 1: bigger creators also don't always know what they are doing/why it's working 2: sometimes it's luck most of all

    You're a lifesaver for this! I've been looking for a tiktok editor that doesn't leave a big watermark on my clips and have been having trouble deciding what editor to use. The new one you suggested at the end of your video has the features I'm used to without having to trim extra sections off my clip in the uploading process.
    By evaluating two clips that I posted yesterday, your video explained why one of them did well while the other flopped (though I'm still experimenting with a couple things like camera position vs gameplay for the game genre I focus on)

    Thanks Eljay for the tips! I would also just like to say that instead of going back on your VODs to check for clips you can use a notebook, or something of the sort to write down time stamps on your stream and then go back on your VODs to those time stamps.

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  2 роки тому +1

      Or just hit a hotkey to clip moments is much faster, but also if you're only looking at the moments you thought were good you'll probably miss a lot of potentially fantastic moments.
      And you won't be reviewing your own vod to see where you can improve.

      I used to have a professional editor edit tiktoks for me, all the flare, polish, and effort made them AMAZING.... but they never got traction TikTok really don't care about polish or flare, they just want quick, timewasting, retention rate baiting content to make them slightly feel something hahaha

    Good tips as always ElJay! I was having problems with Convo exporting to Tiktok and want to point out that it doesn't work properly on the browser version of Tiktok. You need to use the app on the phone! But the connection and exporting to YT is perfect and works just fine via browser. Also, if anyone is having problems with the video not working after splitting the video and deleting part of the clip in Combo, if you grab the layer(s) and move it just a bit, it should work fine then. No idea why it does that, but jiggling the layers a bit seemed to work for me. :D

    hi!! i love your videos, they have helped me so much!! i started streaming in december and i now have 27 followers with 3.5 average veiwers and sometimes up to 10 people watching at a time 😊!!
    i was just wondering if the amount i stream is affecting my growth? i stream twice a week at the same times for around 1.5 hours and i’m actually starting to see my veiws drop in the past month or so and a max of 2-3 veiwers per stream? i was wondering if you had any extra tips for a situation like this?

    I will definitely have to try social media if I want to make something out of my stream... Last week I made it to Affiliate thanks to friends supporting me, but now I'm gonna be on my own and I want to make things right (without the irrational urge to reach Affiliate on my shoulders).

    2 questions
    1) I know you're a variety streamer, when it comes to growth on Tiktok or mostly any platform being niche can benefit for growth. If you have a good tiktok about Elden Ring, but then you post a tiktok of Pokemon Arceus.
    Will people watch Arceus since they possibly expect Elden Ring?
    2) Do you think # was part of a reason why you got more views or less views in clips?

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  2 роки тому +1

      Hashtags are important for relevancy and getting it in front of the right people, but at the same time it really is the core content that will make it work long term in the algo, as far as I know.
      As for the first question, absolutely niche will always crush it, and as a Variety streamer on every platform, I am always going to have to work much harder than a niche creator.
      The trick is to just do the best and consistently as I can, and infuse my personality into every single upload... which is all easier said than done.

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  11 місяців тому

      @@IGoByBeastbb 9 Months late but didn't see this!
      It's actually because I spend hours before I go live planning out potentially clippable funny moments.
      If I see an oppourtunity for a funny moment, I specifically set it up mid stream, and let it play out organic.
      Mess up boss fights right when you claim its far too easy of a game, say you've never fallen in jump king, then fall.
      It's a huge amount of work, and not easy. :)

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  2 роки тому +1

      If you do an hour stream, it’s about making good content in that hour, I’ve found I can get a dozen good clips in an hour.
      As for posting, start with once a day if you can but if you have enough go to twice a day.
      Don’t focus on amount, try to consider quality as well.

      I have shifted over to UA-cam shorts because they tend to reward higher quality content, so I no longer post but I was posting daily.
      Not because it rewards daily, but because it rewards consistently.
      Shorts I post higher quality original content every second day, and have seen much better success, full video on that soon.

    Do you suggest making Tiktoks & YT shorts as just a thing of their own and grow it seperately as another thing to diversify? Or do you think it can funnel people to twitch etc?

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  2 роки тому +3

      Personally a lot of people just crosspost the two, but I don't see Shorts as overly powerful so I don't bother.
      A whole new dedicated channel is required so the shorts don't hurt your real videos, and often Shorts viewers never convert to even subscribing to your channel, let alone coming back to watch longer content.
      That said I think one of the major mistakes creators make is looking at everything as a funnel to get twitch viewers, it needs to provide value first, build an audience on a platform first, and if the content is good enough they'll convert across to other platforms as well.
      That said, for my TikTok, I don't actively push for Twitch viewers, I actually just use my UA-cam channel as my bio links because I think most of the time TikTok viewers won't be in the right timezone to watch me, so its better to send them to a UA-cam channel they can watch any time of day to convert them.

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  2 роки тому +2

      There is a space, but my personal opinion is that if you make content purely with the mindset of hoping to drive traffic to another platform you’ll fail.
      You need to focus purely on building a platform, growing an audience, and they’ll naturally convert if they like it.

    This is going to be a very weird question and I totally understand if I don't get an answer (Took me a good 10 minuets to even take the leap to ask, the worst that can happen is no response which is understandable since you have a lot of comments to go through). Let's say my goal isn't to grow on Twitch (if it happens later down the line, cool, but that's not the point of it), but for two things; Streaming the whole Main Story Quest for Final Fantasy 14 for friends who can't get the game (saving the vod on Twitch to be watched later, the whole thing) and to use twitch to learn what works to creating art assets as an artist trying to get commissions in so I can focus more on Art History/ Art history discussions/ Art world discussions videos on UA-cam (not an art commentary channel as that's a completely different catagory.). Do you think it's a good idea on videos I'm not streaming the main story quest game to use twitch as a way to teach myself to speak to an audience, and if you have any suggestions on hiding the viewer count while I stream from the ps4 directly (like finding a way to use a napkin or non-sticky adhesive tape like washi tape), or the best way is to just try to ignore it the best I can and just hope for the best of me not focusing on it? (My computer and PS4 use the same TV as the screen and I switch sources and I use my iPad as my switch board for Lightstreams. I also found suggestions to just rid that side bar for PS4 streaming, but that also takes away the chat feature and you can't have one or another).
