For me it's the most comfortable sets since you have true elemental acceleration for extra damages and massive amount of evade window to save your butt from Alatreon rampage. And I'll go with 2 pieces Namielle gamma with 1 free elem/ammo deco to get LV3. Mixed with with 3 pieces Escadora and your preferred decos, it's 200 damages DPS party in the event quest.

Thanks a lot for the info man! When I started playing MH4U a few years ago you were the primary reason why I didn't completely suck at the game, and you are definitely my favorite Monster Hunter UA-camr out there. Even years later I am still learning a lot about the game with your videos (I didn't even know the element cap could be raised or even the way critical element affected the elemental damage in the weapons). I've managed to suppress Alatreon a few times solo but haven't been able to slay him, I will try again after hitting MR 100. Thank you for everything you've done for us the less knowledgeable players out there and happy hunting!

The Triple lighting is only double when not enraged. Same goes for aerial stomps, 2 when not enraged, 3 otherwise. His ice breaths, fire breaths, and lighting curtain ( don't clutch his head while its electrified ) he does on the ground and the aerial stomps are good opportunity to clutch claw and wallbang him, since he "shrieks" at the end of these attacks ( there are probably other attacks like that ). Sometimes, when Alatreon is thrown toward a wall but isn't aligned with the rock, he will keep running and slide slightly towards left or right, if he slides into the rock it will wallbang him. The slinger ammo he drops are thorn and dragon ammo, thorn ammos are amazing at breaking his head when used as power shots, with several player taking them, or one with the silver los armor set bonus, you can even stun him. There are certainly plenty of other tricks to discover!
Triple Lightning in rage mode is almost always going to nail you if you try to outrun without evade extender, always roll through. That thing's hitbox is huge.
Man I love Gaijin Hunter guide video. It is just so chill. Felt like I'm in a primary school and you are teaching little huntlings how to hunt. I just want say thank you for your hard work doing this guide.
I'm just happy I found a good teammate to do this hunt. Doing it with 4 people was ridiculous because the randoms never used the right element and kept dying. A good team of 2 along with palicoes is really all you need
10:31 Critical Element does not count against your elemental cap. Critical Element damage is calculated after applying the cap, not before. Additionally, there's no mention of the fact that the amount of elemental damage that is counted towards weakening Escaton Judgment is different for each weapon to balance the fact that some weapons are worse at dealing elemental damage than others. For dual blades, for example, only 60% of the elemental damage dealt to Alatreon counts towards weakening Escaton Judgment, but for great sword, 110% of the elemental damage dealt to Alatreon counts.
Yep, and also charge blade elemental damage is at 70% but phial elemental damage is only 10%. That’s why many people are playing CB in savage axe mode vs Alatreon.
Wait really? That's some good foresight from the devs if the difference in elemental damage taken is true. Can you show me the source of that statement? I need it for credibility reasons.
This actually really helps me out. I’ve been having trouble hitting the elemental check because I’ve forgotten about element caps. I’ve been running velkhana weapons with element acceleration, rip me. Atleast I’ll be able to clear the check now, which is the hardest part honestly.
Thanks for breaking that down for me.. I stopped playing for a long time so I didn't have as much resources as I could, so I fell for the Nami trap and was having trouble.. I guess I'll go make the Safi set then. I didn't want to at first because I didn't have access to Health regen augments but some friends helped me get that set up so I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it out.
Also, crit element is still good even if you hit the weapon’s elemental cap, you don’t gain more element, it just adds a multiplier to the damage calculation.
@@Felipe-oe5su I tested it this morning and found that was not the case, prompted by Japanese sites that stated it hits the cap.. I hope i didnt test it wrong but I dont think i messed it up.
I can’t test myself right now but I found some conflicting info online: ua-cam.com/video/znO-X_SUeTE/v-deo.html based on this testing, crit ele and true crit ele still affect the weapon’s damage even after hitting the elemental cap.
I only see tenderizing worth it if you're using something like a Master's Touch set, since most of the time you're gonna be using Safi armor for the massive Elemental boost and just use protective polish
Thank you for the update. I've been waiting for kiranico or a math hunter to update on this. It explains a lot about the inconsistencies I've been having with either the elemental break or horn break. I was getting inconsistencies about when the elemental break happens, sometimes during fire/ice active, or sometimes during dragon active. The raw hz explains my struggle for getting consistent horn breaks with bow, but better results with melee.
Wow! Very useful. Thanks. Didn't realize thunder would be so effective vs Dragon during ice and fire modes. Switched to upgraded Safi thunder LS. Works great throughout quest.
Omg this video is a godsend. I've been using the Velkhana Greatsword with Crit Draw build, but I have the full Safi set so this video really opened my eyes to what I've been doing wrong. Absolutely amazing video!!!!
If you're on a glaive you can take two elements. If you have two, you get to take dragon as a bonus, hah. Dragon bug for easier horn breaks, dragon weapon and fire/ice bug if you wail on him with dragon and use the bug to break Escaton... assuming you're not lazy and doing kinsect only, then it's fire/ice and waiting out the opposite phase. I found that for hunters who are... not as good at the game, or very low MR and don't have access to powerful augments or reasonable defense (my absolute max when I got my first kill was 178 per piece on the Ala set, 174 on others), one absolute game changer is the Vaal Soulvein bonus. That makes up for the absence of health augment and lets you stay in the fight provided you eat Element Resist L or dodge with plenty of evade window. 3pc Safi or Alatreon himself (the carts only make you stronger) are both great pairs with Soulvein, or 2pc Velk and maybe Guild Palace one piece if you're greedy for Good Luck and have Vaal/Velk Essence on a Safi weapon. Either way, it wasn't fast or glamorous, but I scraped my first 30 minute kill and could possibly get it down below 20 with a less excessively defensive build, even with my mediocre skill. People sleep on Vaal's armor, but... 4/5 of that set is good outside of his fight, with solid mixing potential, and it's a godsend for casual and lower rank players in tough endgame fights. Might need some element resist decos though.
A quick budget build for you LS mains without Safi'Jiiva or KT weapons. Weapon of choice with high element/low raw (I used the Kadachi Daito II) augmented with element up and health regen. Element augment increases your base element and therefore the cap. Skills: Element of choice 6 Crit eye 7 Stonethrower 3 (for double flinch shots) Handicraft 1 Fortitude (obvious addition for solo play) Free Meal Health Boost 3 (required) Defense boost 7 (to hit over 1000 defence to not be 2 shot) Blight Resist 3. (to avoid dragonblight, dragon resist also works as a substitute) Not a single Safi armor piece, nor KT weapon is used in this build and this is he build I first killed Alatreon with. Depending on which armor pieces you're running, you may have a couple of deco slots free. I found Ice Active easier to deal with than Fire Active which is why I went Thunder and ignored the horn break on the first Dragon Active. *Build is only recommended for solo play.* *Cat not included.* *mantle decos not included, mantles not detailed* If people would like, I can go into detail about which pieces I was using and what decorations.
I recently beat him again with a group of randoms, we kept dying a lot, but the group was actually pretty good and we did the quest over and over again until we finally killed him. I'd say patience is more important than anything else in this fight.
Thanks for the great video this is very useful and you did a very great job explaining damage values even to me who knows nothing about how damage works in world
The true king is back! Thank you for this brilliant guide! No speed runs, no ultra rare decos, just a noob friendly well done explanation. Thank you again Gaijin Hunter!
For me it helped making the Alatreon lbg from the shiny drops (i even got to upgrade because of a lucky gem drop). The rapid fire on the elemental munition is really strong and by using a lbg it allows you to be fast as well. Also because you use a lbg you can mostly focus on hitting the cap because you have both fire and ice ammo. I used the full Safi Armor set and sloted in ice and fire attack to level 3. This helped me a lot because with the augmented Legiana sns i was not able to consistently break the horns or i could not kill after 3-4 novae but with the lbg i was suprised how much smoother it felt. Great Video btw.. Important information and easy to understand.
I think something I need to delve into that’s not explained and I’m not sure if it’s well researched, is the elemental up augments. From investing the materials personally, it seems to me that not only does element up augs raise your elemental attack as advertised, it also does what safijiiva does in raising your elemental damage cap. I noticed because I’m actually a fan of the Namielle set, but the game does tell you you hit a weapon’s particular cap with red digits. Weapons I’d hit their cap earlier with True Element Acceleration, broke past it after just one elemental/status up augment. Lower rarity weapons that can stack additional augments seem to only further raise the cap. There was a meme build of a dragonbone switchax that hit 2000 (bloat value) dragon element (including the dragon mantle buff). The point of going in this direction is hitting Safijiiva levels of elemental damage without investing in the high risk/high reward nature of the damage recoil, which I very much appreciate in order to widen my margin of error in hunting Alatreon. Something future analysis is the nature of the Alatreon Elemental Conversion set bonus, which seems to FURTHER raise the cap depending on how much elemental resistance you have to convert into damage. Tobi-Kadachi dual blades I had about 10% more thunder damage, which isn’t a whole lot, but comes with the bonus that you’re reaching that much element as a consequence of boosting your elemental survivability. This means that eating at the canteen normally doesn’t increase your elemental damage, EXCEPT if you’re wearing two pieces of Alatreon armor and eat for Elemental Resist L, in which the elemental resistance you gain directly increases your elemental damage. Um, that’s a long comment to basically say that safijiiva is a good set, but there are plenty more options then just using an element up 6 skill and safijiiva as an essential advantage. I’m a big fan of the QoL skills Namielle gives me like Marathon Runner and Evade Window, and there are ways of making its set bonus worthwhile, among other more unexplored strategies to increasing element.
Hey gaijin, just dropping to tell you I always enjoy your videos. Your calming voice with pokke village theme is zen to me. Hope to see more from you and say hi to Yuna(?) for me!
My first beat of him was with two hunters, me and a pal - we first did the quest solo to view his moves and kinda get a feel of his thresholds for damage. After you notice his patterns he is telegraphed, not to mention how many times you can mess up. But you can get the gems through breaking the horns so it was valuable in that sense. I would just say, don't be scared to fail the quest, its specifically designed to ensure you are prepared. I would say if you can do it with two people, do it - try and get safeguard and insurance (insurance isn't necessary but nice safety). Sometimes we would have runs where it was dead just after its third judgement attack. With two hunters you can stack your cat revival ability should you misposition and additionally stack moxie if you are lucky enough with food skills. The annoying part for me is the head slam, whilst its not necessary, its a little jancky on those rocks but free damage is nice. I like how the quest forces you to prepare yourself as after all it is a black dragon. I didn't want Alatreon to be treated lightly in the game and I'm glad he can be a tough cookie for hunters when just starting the fight against him.
It's also designed to ensure failure is usually progress. You can build everything without killing him, so using Alatreon's gear to beat him back down is actually a really nice help for weaker or worse hunters. Like me. Having all those juicy skills, like free health boost 3 or dragon res 3, and a free power prolonger for powerup weapons? Amazing. Set bonus ain't bad too.
First and foremost, I finally did it. I killed Alatreon in the special assignment, but I want to thank the player that helped a _lot_ in getting it done. A SnS hunter named Supremacy. We reached the DPS threshold every single time while they broke the horns, amazingly, and killed the bastard. The loud clap with my hands and exclaiming "YES" when it happened. Alatreon annoyed the shit out of me and I finally bested it. I don't know if Supremacy has a social media account but I can't thank them enough. But more importantly, I have to thank you more. I went from killing Alatreon once to completing the armor set and update 3 of the 6 weapons I created.
I use a crit element kulve ice hh with some gamma namielle parts and max ice attack. I'm most certainly hitting the cap, but I'm abusing the skills the set gives, the evasion and blight res allows me to be more aggressive. Only think I could get more of is agitator but I need better decos for it.
Honestly your vid is the only one that actually helped me to see some sort of progress ... Thank you for the mathematical approach....I haven't beaten him as yet but I got him to skull😭😭 then died. But the progress is due to your hard work. Thank much
Ah, I missed the number crunching. Really brings me back to the MH4U days back when I didn't know anything. You were my bible on all stats, I will never forget that!
Your best bet is a kulve weapon safi armor build, For builds you can look at IDeVaste, here you go into math and strategy, which is half the battle there. I like you both and use you both for hunts. Thanks for the maths, now time to keep grinding for my elemental dual blades build.
The Kulve Taroth's Kjarr-series of weapons and the Safi armour are very much intended as countermeasures to Alatreon, I find, thanks to how much they promote elemental damage output. Very worth looking at. And I really want to stress how nice Safi's armour is for this fight. Not only does it boost your elemental damage substantially, it also comes with Blight Res, which is VERY nice against a monster that inflicts every single one of them normally - especially Dragonblight is cayses problems here. Not only that, but Evade Window is something I've also found extremely suitable for this fight. Alatreon has many dangerous attacks, but also many of them have short, and surprisingly tight hitboxes. A few levels of Evade Window makes this fact super exploitable. Claw swipes, sweeping fire breath, lightning bolts, icicle shots, aerial dragon burst, you name it. Evade Window really is incredible here. I was very apprehensive about using Safi armour at first, but a single health augment really balanced it out well. That said, don't neglect your raw damage if you can help it. If you or your team runs ice or fire weapons at all, appropriate for Alatreon's starting state, those horns *must* break during Dragon Active. By FAR most of my team hunts fail because the horn doesn't break. Don't neglect the horn!
I agree with this.. The character I beat him with was an Mr 45ish, has 900 def, and no augmented weapons. It's still doable. But I still suggest to have those requirements gaijin hunter said.
Designed for MR24, designated for MR100+...that is so true. I think this might be due to their switch from permanent to temporary events. Before since all events were permanents, pretty much everyone could have access even months after release. Now with these temp events, devs know everyone will want to try and beat the new monster but because it's only for a limited amount of time, they can't put it to MR100+ as al lot of people will be left out. As such they put it to MR24 and that's how you end up with randos barely done with the game coming there and getting obliterated even before the Escaton. For that I wish all events were permanent like in the previous games...Anyway thank you very much for this video as elements is one of the things the game doesn't explain at all. Hopefully this will help especially newcomers with their understanding of the wonderful world of element damages (glory to SnS :) )
The big one for me was double health augment on my Kjárr ice blades, which makes damage tanking with the Safi 5 piece set so much easier. Much less risk, more plain reward.
I bought iceborne on pc during the summer sale but i already had 1.6k hours in mhw. So i didnt had kulve weapons for alatreon so i farmed teo+rag.brachy set and beotodus dual blade without any augumentations and solo’d him. After this i farmed some safi because the siege will not be available for the next 2 weeks and i got safi’s ice db and solo’d again. If you dont have kulve weapons i really recommend farming safi or just use a good elemental weapon like beotodus DB.
Was finally able to beat him tonight after a few days of trying, actually got him twice in a row without carting either time. This fight seemed impossible at first but now I really enjoy it!
I can't seem to find info about the elemental cap elsewhere. I don't wanna believe the flaws I have within my sets. That being said... back to the drawing board, and most likely the dragonvein awakening.
With this math, my frozen fish, and sheer determination, Alatreon will not be able to withstand my damage. Thanks Gaijin! Now I can slay a god with a fish.
I think it's worth mentioning that the Kjarr weapons (the higher-tier Kulve Taroth weapon set) have innate Critical Element by themselves, allowing you to do something like the 3-piece Safi without having to use Velkhana pieces for the other 2 slots.
Hey gaijin. I just love your content so much. I love watching your videos while dish washing :P hope to see more monster hunter world content from you!
Something that I've noticed with Alatreon is that the front and back legs are tied together in terms of weakening. When you weaken say the left-back leg, the right-back leg is also weakened. Same goes for the front legs. Also, if you're using a light weapon, and use a clutch claw attack on the left-back, then another on the right-back, both will be weakened. It definitely makes it easier to keep the legs tenderized during the fight and be able to do damage regardless of which side of the monster you're on.
AUGMENT YOUR ARMOR guys. Ive seen so many mr 100+ players running around with crappy builds that arent adapted to a fight where you need certain skills (like partbreaker *3* for safi) If you combine that with less than 1000 defense you gonna have a really hard time against alatreon if you already struggle with harder monsters
Alatreon does some dragon elemental damage on you, especially paw slap and headbutt. Stack your dragon resistance and it's not a problem anymore. Or use evade window and evasion extender.
I felt clever a few days ago when I tried the special assignment again with capped elemental dual blades. Problem was, they were dragon and mid raw/mid element (Death Row, with extra elemental damage augment but no health regen).
Whenever i see a video explaining Elemental Caps i always hope for them to explain the cap for bowguns. At this point i dont know for sure how the heck can i know it. I go to the training area and see how my dmg goes, if im capping i dont even know... Either way, love your explanation. My cousin have a Namielle Y build with his bow, even though i told him is not that great in general. Before i helped him build one good Silver Rath build, gonna show him this video so he use the rath one for these hunts.
A cool trick I saw on Reddit; while Alatreon is in the sky doing his downward fire/ice breath aoe attack you can clutch claw to his face to both avoid the damage, and spin him around and flinch shot him out of the air.
Hi Gaijin I know you don't necessarily like the mechanics of the fight but I feel like the community its really active like no other time before, everyone is giving advice or ways to aproach certain moves with certain weapons, some people are actually crafting new weapons and armor (wich got really stale cuz MT + Brachy its insanely powerful) and other are LEARNING new weapons. For all of this reasons I think Alatreon its a total WIN it feels like a black dragon who came and conquered everyone who was not ready.
^THIS! I absolutely agree. I think the devs did that on purpose. You can't just cheese through the fight with your usual raw damage sets, you have to learn the moveset and adapt. If you don't do that, Alatreon will kick your butt. It's a very challenging fight and quite exhausting, but it feels so good when you finally beat him.
Yup. Although I need to abandon my Sticky HBG. It feels right and fun to learn new weapon. Getting of your comfort zome. Is what Alatreon tells every hunter.

Palicos > random Hunters that is what i always say.
Very useful to know. Some of us were worried that they were just rolling with the imbalanced between weapon types in regards to element.
Yep, and also charge blade elemental damage is at 70% but phial elemental damage is only 10%. That’s why many people are playing CB in savage axe mode vs Alatreon.
@@joshmay2944 Oh damn, no wonder I had so much trouble with CB solo. Wasn't a big deal tho just swapped to Dragon Dual Bades and breezed through it.
Wait really? That's some good foresight from the devs if the difference in elemental damage taken is true. Can you show me the source of that statement? I need it for credibility reasons.
yep, I appreciate the correct. I removed it from the video (the whole section)

Old World Hunters: WOOOOOOOOO MATHHHHHH
When you math so hard that even an all powerful elemental dragon of death gets destroyed, man I love it when that happens
When you math so hard you kill the Avatar
are you saying the fire nation can't do math?
you did a really great job explaining elemental damage calculations here. every hunter should watch this video!
Kinda sad because the Nami stuff looks cool.. But I guess we'll be able to layer MR stuff eventually (soonish?)
Tenderizing the head and front legs is still important so you get 50% affinity from weakness exploit (non-tenderized spots only get 30% affinity)
Great point I really missed. Thanks!
I can’t test myself right now but I found some conflicting info online:
ua-cam.com/video/znO-X_SUeTE/v-deo.html based on this testing, crit ele and true crit ele still affect the weapon’s damage even after hitting the elemental cap.
I'm glad that pierce is still the best element against Alatreon
Alatreon: Please I beg of you don't use the math anything but the math
This deserves top comment
@Olle Eriksson *MH3 Quest complete music commences*
Thanks for the info GH. Normally I don't use Elm builds in my kits. But my SnS friend would use this greatly for knowledge.
I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this battle. Beyond helpful video. Thanks champ.
Skills:
Element of choice 6
Crit eye 7
Stonethrower 3 (for double flinch shots)
Handicraft 1
Fortitude (obvious addition for solo play)
Free Meal
Health Boost 3 (required)
Defense boost 7 (to hit over 1000 defence to not be 2 shot)
Blight Resist 3. (to avoid dragonblight, dragon resist also works as a substitute)
Not a single Safi armor piece, nor KT weapon is used in this build and this is he build I first killed Alatreon with. Depending on which armor pieces you're running, you may have a couple of deco slots free. I found Ice Active easier to deal with than Fire Active which is why I went Thunder and ignored the horn break on the first Dragon Active.
*Build is only recommended for solo play.* *Cat not included.* *mantle decos not included, mantles not detailed*
If people would like, I can go into detail about which pieces I was using and what decorations.
I recently beat him again with a group of randoms, we kept dying a lot, but the group was actually pretty good and we did the quest over and over again until we finally killed him. I'd say patience is more important than anything else in this fight.
Very good informative video, really miss these in-depth stuff from you, I think it will help lots of ppl struggling with this, great work~!
Thanks for being a Mon Hun Guru! I have been loving your video for years. Please, never stop.
Thanks for the great video this is very useful and you did a very great job explaining damage values even to me who knows nothing about how damage works in world
I don’t know why I’m watching this. I don’t even own a PS4 or MHW
Yoo me too, gaijin is just fun

same but playing mhgu rn hahahahaha
The true king is back! Thank you for this brilliant guide!
No speed runs, no ultra rare decos, just a noob friendly well done explanation. Thank you again Gaijin Hunter!
Thnx for the informative video gaijin 😁. The fight is tough but really satisfying. Really enjoy it
"Don't worry, as long as you went to ELEMENTary, you'll be fine."
I see what you did there ;D
I love you content mate, I'm not even at level to fight Alatreon but I still watch this :)
Yaaaaas thank you for this! I have been wanting these maths!
Educational Video! I learned a lot and how to approach Alatreon
Hey gaijin, just dropping to tell you I always enjoy your videos. Your calming voice with pokke village theme is zen to me. Hope to see more from you and say hi to Yuna(?) for me!
Gaijin Hunter: Only prepare for one active.
Me: *laughs in Alatreon Dominator*
True xD Why limit yourself to one element if you can have them all :D
Amazing video. Good pacing and very clear and easy explanation.
Thank you sooo much for teaching us! i love it even though i wil have to watch it at least five more times till i can remembeer the formulas xD
This is such quality content! 2,000hrs plus and I learned a lot! Saving this to study it again🤓. Thanks for doing all this research 🖖!
Thank you so much for this information. So helpful as I’ve been struggling with this fight.
Very helpful, thank you! I had no idea there was a cap on elemental damage at all until watching this video, and I'm 600+ hours into the game :(
Superb this should definitely be helpful to avoid deminishing returns or traps with the elemental cap
Thank you for the video and also for using that village theme as music :)
It's sad that we only got AT namielle now.
I'm waiting for other AT elder dragons, their gamma set would be sick. Look wise and skill wise
Just you wait for AT alatreon....
@@enriquerivera4696 please no...
Enrique Rivera Why would you even say something like this.
We need AT velk. Then frostcraft will be useful
yanuar mustika Frostcraft is very usefull - a lot of speedruns run frostcraft against Alatreon
Great video as always 👌. Hopefully this will show players that bringing full dragon isn't the best way to go.
Just came back to MH after the Fatalis update. Full Safi gear plus Frostfang weapon makes this so easy. Oh and lvl3 partbreak for that horn break
I use a crit element kulve ice hh with some gamma namielle parts and max ice attack. I'm most certainly hitting the cap, but I'm abusing the skills the set gives, the evasion and blight res allows me to be more aggressive. Only think I could get more of is agitator but I need better decos for it.
I have the same set with Glaive, true crit/nami/Kulve. I don't know why he's bashing on the Nami set since it's very easy to proc the skill.
And people said we wouldn’t use math skills when we are adults
We dont, we let others do it for us, and when necessary look things up.
We dont
You know I’m really starting to miss the old alatreon fight and the amount of different sets you could use against it
I remember seeing your comments in various places, keep up the good work!
Dang, missed opportunity to goat scream when you said "We're gonna be using *MATH* "
I wish I had the time to make builds to hunt Aleatron. I'm gonna have to wait a few weeks. Anyways, awesome video like always 👍
Beaten it as a pair, now working on it solo!
Was finally able to beat him tonight after a few days of trying, actually got him twice in a row without carting either time. This fight seemed impossible at first but now I really enjoy it!
This helped considerably, thank you.
@2:27 It is Escaton judgement with a T, not Escalon with an L
5:55 " you cant plan for all elements" *laughs in bowgun*
What about the bow?
@@dragonsswarm1987 i dont know about a bow that has multiple elements
*laughs in literally any dragon weapon*
I can't seem to find info about the elemental cap elsewhere. I don't wanna believe the flaws I have within my sets.
That being said... back to the drawing board, and most likely the dragonvein awakening.
With this math, my frozen fish, and sheer determination, Alatreon will not be able to withstand my damage. Thanks Gaijin! Now I can slay a god with a fish.
I don't know whether to say that's rude or humiliating. (For the Alatreon.)
Dragon's Swarm It has been done. The dragon of death and destruction was finally felled by my fish. It took half an hour, but it fell.
Thanks for all the hard work, this video is awesome. The thumbnail is glorious too 🤣🤣🤣
I think it's worth mentioning that the Kjarr weapons (the higher-tier Kulve Taroth weapon set) have innate Critical Element by themselves, allowing you to do something like the 3-piece Safi without having to use Velkhana pieces for the other 2 slots.
It definitely makes it easier to keep the legs tenderized during the fight and be able to do damage regardless of which side of the monster you're on.
crit/true crit element is calculated after as multiplier not additive it still gives damage even at cap
AUGMENT YOUR ARMOR guys. Ive seen so many mr 100+ players running around with crappy builds that arent adapted to a fight where you need certain skills (like partbreaker *3* for safi)
If you combine that with less than 1000 defense you gonna have a really hard time against alatreon if you already struggle with harder monsters
Alatreon does some dragon elemental damage on you, especially paw slap and headbutt. Stack your dragon resistance and it's not a problem anymore. Or use evade window and evasion extender.
Health Augment helped me a LOT against Alatreon, the damage on his frontlegs with full Safi armor was pretty decent.
Anything around 929-999ish defence is good enough against it tbh... avoid the ground pin and y'all be fine
Das kleine Irrbis health augment is what you put on every weapon in every fight anyways unless you want to speedrun
I felt clever a few days ago when I tried the special assignment again with capped elemental dual blades.
Problem was, they were dragon and mid raw/mid element (Death Row, with extra elemental damage augment but no health regen).
thanks for the info adam. helpful as always
Before i helped him build one good Silver Rath build, gonna show him this video so he use the rath one for these hunts.
for a monster a all about elemental being the key to defeat it sure does have shut elemental Hit zone values.
Waited for this video, GaijinHunter the best when it comes to maths.
A cool trick I saw on Reddit; while Alatreon is in the sky doing his downward fire/ice breath aoe attack you can clutch claw to his face to both avoid the damage, and spin him around and flinch shot him out of the air.
That thumbnail really brightened my day.
This is what school prepared us for...
I just got the game on sale and Alatreon (and Fetalis) are my end goal mosters.
Wish me luck.
"So long as you went to ELEMENTary school"
thank you for this, gaijin hunter!! cheers!!
wow I didn´t know there was an elemental cap PLUS that the Safi set raises that ele cap ... thank you!
