I think it would’ve been harder not to catch on this trip, so many fish around! Left about another 10 or so small ones out of the vid as well as it was nearly an hour long! 🤣👍🎣
this is MrBear in florida nice trip glad to see you got out. im getting ready for a cat 2or3 huricane with 11 foot storm surage winds around 110 and up .tusday night going in to wensday will let you no whats up on the other side were huncering down.
this is MrBear in fl. i see the storms UK is getting hope you and yours are staying safe in the storms, ok here in florida two more months of huricane season . just checking in stay safe.
Hey matey how you doing? The storms haven’t been of any great substance to be honest. It’s been more of an inconvenience than anything. Keep dodging those hurricanes buddy! 👍🎣
Good to see you back and what a great session. Sea looked like a mirror and the fish were great with some proper examples there too. Love the footage of yourself removing the hook with forceps, reminded of a distant past dentist! Finally able to get out now, what a lovely feeling to be back on the sea. Best wishes, Kev
It was a lush day out there. It’s a lot better this week as well weather wise so of course I’m working! Planning a trip away in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully get a few vids in the bag 👍🎣
Cheers Mick, I love catching wrasse but it’s always a bit stressful if your deeper than 16 meters or so! I like to give them the best chance . Tight line mate 👍🎣
Just catching up the recent ones . Entertaining and instructive as ever . There looked to be 3 kayaks out off Whitley this afternoon . Got to get out again but just tested + for Covid . Just feels a cold though . The plane back from hol on Saturday was like a coughing tour 🤦🏻♂️
I know a few people with the COV at the moment Stuart. I had it again about 4 months ago so hopefully I should right for another year or so. Get well soon matey 👍🎣
The average size was bigger at the beginning of the season but there are loads of just under sized around at the mo. Couple of nice ones in there towards the end. Just nice to have some reasonable weather! 👍🎣
Yea all good here mate, haven’t been out for more than a month though with the weather. We’ve just had storm after storm over here for months now. How’s you? Getting out much?
@@onthedropfishingbeen out a few times not like i would like, it seems like were stuck in 10to15knots of wind. getting rid of huricane season now we have cold fronts moving past.were i am on the west coast of florida water is very shallow i ca go out a mile and still be in 7foot of water, so i have to play my tides, were you paddle 10 feet from beach and can put a ship there. well glad to here yall are good .
Great video again Chris, you always make it look so enjoyable which it certainly is. My question today Chris the spray you use is it for soft lures only or do you use it on metal lures as well. Speak later mate Colin
Hi I like watching you getting these pollocks and cods in your kayak and wonder where is the best place to launch my Honwave T38 with 15hp outboard off the beach for some fishing up north. I am from Birmingham.
Hi mate, Beadnell would be a good bet or just further south of that you could launch from Craster harbour. There’s a gate at Beadnell but it’s open most of the time and if not you should be able to get a T38 around it with a little bit of a tip. Hope that helps 👍🎣
@onthedropfishing Thanks a lot my wife and I are taking a trip this Sunday for some codling fun if they are there and around. You keep well and keep educating us.
Hi mate, welcome to the sport! It’s a great way to fish. I think maybe the wildcat just edges it. Certainly when the motor comes out for it I think it’ll be my fave of the four galaxy’s I’ve used. It’s got loads of deck space and is pretty light for its size. Only thing I miss is an internal hatch on the front. Hope that helps 👍🎣
Hey mate, Yeah I had two sessions out of Shields recently - once on my own where I caught loads including a nice double cod but my SD card failed and another with my pal where the GoPro worked just fine but I blanked!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣 I've kept the SD card and I might try and recover the footage at some point. Tight lines 👍🎣
Awesome video! I loved how calm it was out there and the respect that you gave to the Wrasse, happy that you could get out again and have a great session! How are you finding the Wildcat compared to the Supernova FX and the Sturgeon FX? Is there one that you prefer over the others? Do you have any pros and cons? :)
Thanks mate, it was just great to get out. I’ve really enjoyed using the wildcat - it’s a tough call between that and the sturgeon but maybe the wildcat just edges it. I like the extra deck space and it seems a little easier to pedal which doesn’t make sense as it’s wider. Maybe all those trip to the gym starting to pay off! I d be happy with either of those as my only ride 👍🎣
Hi mate, glad you enjoyed the video - cruising speed is about 4mph across the tide or over slack water. I travel a canny distance to fish. A few kilometres off shore on average. Hope that helps 👍🎣
Nice video thanks. Saw you used a spray on one of your lures, do you think spraying them makes a difference ? and if so which spray are you using ? Many thanks
Hi mate, glad you enjoyed it. I’m not sure the spray makes that much difference to be honest but it certainly can’t be doing any harm! It’s sticky baits bait spray. I get it from go outdoors. Tight lines 👍🎣
Really enjoy your content👍 looking to buy a new sea fishing kayak been on a lookout for a while I’ve noticed the galaxy kayaks are widely available and in a decent price range what one would you recommend ?? seen that you tried a few
Hi mate, I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel. That’s a tough question but if I had to choose I’d say the wildcat just edges it at the mo. I’ve only used it about four times so I can’t comment on its longevity but I have enjoyed it. The sturgeon fx is also awesome - little bit heavier and a bit longer but I’ve used it for two years and it’s been awesome for me. It’s a really close call though, ask me again next week and it might be the sturgeon that wins! It really is that close. If you do go down the Galaxy route don’t forget the code OTD5 will save you a few quid. Hope that helps 👍🎣
@onthedropfishing thanks for you feedback still haven’t made up my mind would you say sturgeon or wildcat perform better on choppier water or if sturgeon’s faster but less stable ?
I don’t prefer either to be honest for the kind of fishing I do, as long as I’m in deep enough water it doesn’t seem to make any difference in my experience. Obviously in shallower water up and over my be preferable or the flood depending where you are and what you’re targeting. 👍🎣
Thanks very much I’m glad you’re enjoying the content. I use windy pretty much exclusively. It’s got everything, current, tidal currents, water temps, swell primary and secondary plus wind speed as well obviously. Premium updates on the hour as well so it’s almost live. I’ve found it to be the most accurate by far. Hope that helps 👍🎣
Yea I thought it was, I’m 3d printing the male part of the star mount now and I’ll get a little box next time we need to stock up on cleaning supplies lol. Cheers for the reply
When you say the newton buoy, is that the newton rock buoy? Was just trying to see where you fish on navionics…would need to be a holiday to fish that area from here in Devon! Lol Also what scent spray do you use?
Yes mate, all of the ground between the Newton buoy and the point will fish. The point to North Sunderland buoy will produce as well and if you fish the tide down and up over low water you’ll get a ride there and back on the current 👍🎣
Very nice, definitely a fish rich area; have to think about a fishing holiday! Lol I can’t seem to find the scent sprays that you mentioned, do you have a link or is it something you make yourself?
My Mum is 92, and I shared her the link to one of your videos, a big UA-cam fan so she will be watching this once I've sent her it. Keep a haad.
