      Hiya mate, I love this channel, I've been kayak fishing for 3 years now, been out about 10 times 😳 with work and weather, it's so difficult, don't so much watch fish getting caught, listen to what's been said about the weather etc, and watch him on the kayak, it's not easy to get comfy on a yak and confident but ya can.

      It was a late start to the season last year Andy, this vid was April 19th and was one of the first “proper” sessions of the year. Fingers crossed we get less storms this spring 🤞 🎣

    Hi Chris at 77years old I could do with a dozen of those cod I paid 15 pounds for one large cod and chips, the chips was larger then the fish.

      Hi John mate, work has eased off a little from today so I’ve got my nose firmly in the weather apps and I’m itching to go! Two venues in mind St Abbs or Port Logan as it happens! The weather will decide which one 👍🎣

      The big ones are lol. Pollack are my fave fish to catch. I’ll be heading west on the hunt for them again in a week or two 👍🎣

      Hi mate, it was a canny day. Regards the cod it depends who you talk to, some say 5lb some say 7lb. Tight lines pal👍🎣

      Cheers mate, it’s sticky baits bait spray. As I say I’m not sure it makes that much difference but it can’t be doing any harm can it! Give it a go and find out eh 👍🎣

    Hiya pal, enjoying the video's which I have just came across... you may have done it before but could you give a run down off what kit you wear, carry and your safety set up etc please. Notice you have a vest with various "things on it. A run quick run through would be superb. Was watching the St Abbs trip used to go there with my Dad when i was a young lad, some real life long memories from that special place....cheers

      Hi mate, I usually go with a Razor Claw around the 40g mark. I’m lucky enough to be self employed so can move work around to fit the weather! 👍🎣

      Hi mate, braid to swivel via a palomar knot then four feet of fluorocarbon from the swivel to a clip swivel and the lure attached to that. It’s more of a rubbing “trace” than leader if that makes sense 👍🎣

      @@stuartdenton9052 20lb fluoro and 15-20lb braid Stuart, the fluoro is just there because it has better abrasion resistance than the braid. 👍🎣

    Did you manage to get out on the water, at st Abbas I noticed the wind speed was 17 mph at port Logan, which leads me to the question, what do you look at to make decisions for safe kayak fishing.

    Hi pal, thanks for the video..brilliant .I bought the trolling motor for my galaxy explorer. I usually fish for perch and pike on lochs.. wanting to do some sea fishing. So any advice on t 10:26 he size of rod and do u use braid or mono..thanks again..love the videos keep it up

      Hi mate, I’m glad you enjoyed the vid. I use 20-40g rods around the 7ft mark. Braid is key for me lure fishing. I’m currently using 0.13mm Spiderwire Stealth Smooth 👍🎣

      Hi mate, I’m glad you enjoyed it. The drysuit is a Typhoon PS330 and the lures come from everywhere and anywhere. I get them from eBay, Amazon, Ali Express etc, I get sent quite a few as well. I’m a compulsive lure hoarder without a doubt! 👍🎣

    Hello! How is the pedal drive holding up? I was thinking about getting one of these Yaks rather than forking out for a Hobie. I see you've also added an electric motor, would you consider doing a short video on that? Thanks mate.

      Hi mate, I’m gonna do an update on the motor in the next vid I think. The pedal drive is still going strong though I’d say I use the motor now on 80% of trips. Hope that helps 👍🎣

      I like them both is the truth. If it’s a tricky launch or a long journey I take the sturgeon simply because it’s a fair bit lighter 👍🎣

      Hi mate, if you’re using it in the sea be sure to get something around 12ft or more. Don’t skimp on the safety gear either. VHF, PFD, Drysuit etc. Tight lines pal 👍🎣

      @@onthedropfishing well… I’m new ish to fishing myself I live in Troon and all I’ve really caught are pollock around 30cm from the shore but that was using small feathers before I got a lure rod so if you used the correct gear I recon you’d get bigger but I’ve heard from my local fishing shop that portencross is a good place to go for macrel but macrel get boring fast if that’s all you catch also a lot of seals in Troon I’m not too sure if that’s good or bad
