I have a F20 (6.5" screen) with Alpine HiFi upgrade kit installed. So 1 adapter of the hifi kit is connected to the factory harness. In this case, how can I connect the carplay kit (harness) to the existing system? Thanks

I have a 2015 228i x drive need to replace the screen. It has bubbles in it. Does any one know where I can purchase cheaper than the dealership?
how does the parking sensors, servicing stuff actually work alongside this? Do you just lose the BMW functionality in place of android auto?
Not at all, every OEM function works as it did before the install.
the cable you moved with the zip tie, what do you do with them ?
where do you plug them in, it looks like you just left them hanging ?
Hello, this is the MMi USB port that can be used for performing the MMI software upgrade, charging the phone, playing the music through the USB stick, etc.
It can be placed anywhere. On the video we left it hanging on the passenger side, but it is not the only place for it. For instance it can be placed in the glovebox compartment.
On the video we left it there, so everything is visible :)
Hello. I installed the Android Auto Retrofit but Im not 100% convinced by the audio quality. As I have to connect the Android phone via USB anyway - is it possible to buy a "USB-C to USB-C & Headphone jack" splitter to connect a DAC inbetween (to improve audio quality)? I want to double check before I buy the splitter and everything.

Hi, I have an F23 LCI with the same iDrive screen as seen in this video. When I check my VIN on your website it says I need to order the additional cable and AUX programming session. But, I already have a UniCarScan UCSI-2000 Bluetooth OBD adapter that works with the Bimmercode app. Can I use Bimmercode to enable the AUX port myself, without buying your additional cable?

Its easily done, go into expert mode under headunit and do this:
CDMM_AUX_HU and set to AKTIV
CDMM_ANALOG_AUX and set to AKTIV
CDMM_AUX_SIMPLE_1 and set to AKTIV

Where is the USB cable supposed to rest? Does it just hang out the side panel?
The USB cable can be installed in such a way that it's not visible (sticked, pressed, etc.). However, if you don't like it, you can also hide it completely. This will require disassembling of dashboard and pulling out the cable every time you want to update the MMI module.
Is this also available or does it matter if one has the smaller screen not the 8" on 2015 M22?

The process should be somewhat similar but definitely not identical. We have a detailed PDF with the installation instructions you might want to take a look at. I have a f22 and have installed the mmi prime, my idrive works fine but when I press the menu/ 8 button I just get a black screen don’t know what’s going on

The WiFi stick isn’t working for me after this install. I’m able to connect to it but I only get “no signal” from it. Any tips or tricks to get it working?

Hay bro, I’d love to buy your product but I live in the UK. My F22 doesn’t have an AUX port, so would need coding, I read on your site that you do it remotely, will you do it if I’m in the uk?

The camera cut at the exact moment you were about to slide the MMI into place. Where exactly did you locate it? In the subsequent clip where you are refitting the fibre optic plug, the MMI is nowhere to be seen. Thanks.
The honest answer is wherever it fits. This was just slid behind it.

Hi, I have a 2018 F23 with Evo, and hence the bigger head unit. I cannot find a way to get the MMI Prime box and the new cable bundle to fit behind the head unit! I have spent quite a long time trying... Would anyone be able to help provide any tips here? Is it possible? Do you have to remove any other panels to get access to the cable bundle to manipulate it? I have seen some comments on other cars about having to remove the glove box - didn't really want to do that...

Also, can you tell us if you tried placing the MMI above (or eventually below) the head unit?
@@bimmer-tech Thank you for this reply. How should I send you my VIN number? I have not tried to fit the MMI unit above or below the head unit, only behind it. I have the larger head unit size and did not think there was enough space, by maybe I am wrong!

what do you do with the USB after you feed it thru to the passenger side?
The USB cable will be used for a couple of things. Among others connecting your device to the MMI Prime, using the USB port for video/music playback, MMI Prime software updates.

How did you find space to fit the box? I have a 2014 M235i and can't see where this box would fit.
Depending on your car’s configuration you can either put the MMI Prime unit on top or under the head unit. If your car came with a bigger head unit that fills the cavity you will have to drop the glove box compartment and place the MMI between the glove box and the head unit cavity.

The installation across all 2-series will be similar. The only difference you might run into is the size of the head unit. Depending on the configuration the head unit might be bigger and fill the entire cavity. If that’s the case you will have to put the MMI between the glove box compartment and the head unit.

Hi, that will depend on your iDrive system. If it's NBT Evo then you'll be compatible, if MGU then not for a moment. You can check your compatibility on the product website by typing in your VIN in the 'Identify my BMW' box: www.bimmer-tech.net/category-bmw-carplay-mmi-retrofit
Would I be able to use the MHD app with this?
Here's the list of all apps available in CarPlay. From what we can see there's no MHD app, so unfortunately you won't be able to use it for the moment: www.apple.com/ios/carplay/
And whatever happened to that usb cable that was fed down below??
This cable can be later routed to the armrest and used for wired CarPlay/AndroidAuto or to load software updates onto the MMI

It really sux that we cant have the new touch screen! Why didn’t you make one for other models! I got 2015 235i I think its not fair! And the fact that this unit is more expensive than the screen! Why?
We only offer original screens and BMW does not make touch screens for the 2015 235i, hence no upgrade. When it comes to the cost of CarPlay MMI Prime, it's first of all vehicle specific, and second it covers the cost of installation support and product usage support.
