With so much more power. Yeah, proper race cars have an edge.
But if you look at the cornering speeds, GT3 race cars, not exactly the fastest ever GT series, are as fast or faster around bends. They just don't have the silly power. They could get the silly power, but race rules.

I'd like to see the Evija on a warm, dry track. The big difference between the Evija and, say, the ID.R is in cornering and braking. The ID.R hit a peak of nearly 3.5g lateral, whereas the Evija - from the on-video display - looks to be peaking at well under 2g in both cornering and braking. I imagine that's a function of (a) the ID.R being a pure racing vehicle, with associated aerodynamics, and of course (b) being substantially lighter.

One day, the human brain will be overwhelmed by the power and speed of these new/next gen cars. One day we will have Tool Assisted Speedruns (TAS), like in Trackmania Nations Forever, because only AI will be able to cope with the ridiculously small amount of processing time left for our brains to execute each maneuver during a track record.

The Porsche lap on 919 evo is insane, that car rockets from 80-300 in an instant then the ice engine carries the speed till 370 or 380 when the electric boost runs out. Those Prototype cars are something different entirely. This is a monument achievement considering what it is lapping against. Electric cars have such a different feel as well. When your not on the throttle it feels almost like your braking. You have to absolutely keep the throttle down cause if you lift you won't coast like a combustion engine, you will be hemorrhaging time when you lift much more than you traditionally would. So I can imagine getting past that sensation would take some time for the driver to overcome. Incredible marriage of man and machine. I would LOVE to lap the Ring with that car. I know the track by heart these days. Would be so interest in what zi could do in it.
