@outinthewildoutinthewild8687 "The legendary name is back". Just on a car shaped like a poorly designed SUV-alike. Wasted opportunity that an age group that it could appeal to (and possibly afford it) will ignore in their droves.
For at least 20 years, Honda has been showing "concepts" that are usually about 98% production intent, with maybe some custom trim bits, but as Richard noted, you can see production car parts everywhere. I'm guessing the windows are blacked out because the interior parts are not final production quality finish and they don't want people seeing that - they will sometimes get early test batches of plastic parts that don't have the final textures or colors on them because the supplier is still finishing up the tooling.
Ford had already sullied the name in the US and Australia by applying it to the terrible convertible they made by chopping the roof off the Laser / Mazda 323 platform in the early 90's. So the new car is a significant improvement!
That is new EU laws, that the UK are signed up to still, safety sensors. And they cannot be placed behind grills so no every car has one. Some uglier than others though.
Looks horrendous. I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a car designed with that intentionally. They could've at least centred it. And made the grill black.

Can anyone explain why the height of the Alpine A290 bonnet/scuttle line is so high ? Just look at how much distance/girth/bodywork there is from the top of the tire to the top of the bonnet - looks just like one of those mini-SUVs that's been 'lowered'... they obviously blacked-out the lower fender arch to hide/mask this visual awkwardness ... I've always understood that the manufacturers have had to do this because of the engines being up front combined with new (ridiculous) EU pedestrian impact 'safety' rules/regs... but there's obviously no engine up front here... so why not lower the bonnet line for improved sight-lines/safety etc ? Why does it have to be so chunky/tall/huge up front like that ? Teslas have a low bonnet/scuttle line - shouldn't this ?
