I love the way you edit and film to capture the surroundings. Most UA-camr's feel the need for music fills instead hearing nature. Sometimes less is more and we like to hear the gravel crunching under tires, the babbling brooks and just the sound of wind in the trees. Yours have a CBS Sunday Morning style to it when they close with just nature videos and no humans involved. Thank you for capturing this area with such artistry.
Chris you’re meeting the nicest people out there on your travels... And the advice you offered up at the close to just get out there no mater your vehicle is wonderful. My wife and I would loved to have a Jeep, but we’re currently far from it. No offroad camping adventures for us yet, but someday it’ll happen.
This was some of your best photography so far! Love the angle of you on the turtle rock with the camp in the background down below! Also, Ouray and Lake City are two of my favorite Colorado towns!
I started your videos at the beginning and have been back tracking. This has been my favorite video yet. This summer I was in every single spot you explored. I instantly knew you were heading up Engineer from the back side. Love it!
This was a adventure and a half. Loved the mountains they remind me of our BC mountains. The Toyota Tacoma was interesting, right now we are in a RAV4 and it gets us places but the Tacoma would open us up to roads that are impassable to us. Great video as always!
The San Juans are amazing, I can't wait to get back down there and explore. I can't believe how little snow is still up there! As a fellow J30 owner I miss your Jeep, but it's hard to ignore how awesome that Tacoma plus Kyaha camper is.
Awesome, random call out to Clinton, NJ and the Stone Bean! Really digging that your wide- ranging adventure continually pokes its head into my tiny NW spec of NJ. Nice vid and overview of the Toyota and camper. I saw it at OK 4WD, as I drive past them twice a week, and was curious what marvels lay in store inside it.
Outstanding Scenic Video footage ... You must have a high Quality camera gear ... I was most pleased and impressed by the Many folks that pass thru NO beer cans or Trash ... OverLanders are True Nature Patriots ... Leave No mark ... Keep up the great work / enjoy the journey .. drive Safe
Those views are AMAZING!!! My bucket list just got one more destination added. You look like you're already getting spoiled in the truck. You had me cracking up a few times. Enjoy your trip.
Chris I LOVE this area of Colorado... Silverton is my favorite town in the state! I am so glad you were able to see the alpine loop and wanna thank your for making this video for us.. Great video!
Here's an old Traveler's Trick. When you get home, pack up everything you'd be comfortable doing this with and ship it back UPS. It's a lot cheaper than airline baggage fees and a lot less hassle.
I knew you would love the San Juan mountains. You will need to return, there is much more to enjoy. Glad to see the Cheese it's made the transition to the different vehicle.
While I am waiting for the next "Labrador" vid, thought I'd check some out your older stuff. I've been to Buena Vista, it is beautiful & a great place to explore.
Looking good in that Tacoma Chris! I had a 2011 JKU and ended up blowing up the motor and eventually switched to a 2016 4Runner Trail. I have to agree with @Ryan Martinage great vehicle but definitely more expensive on the wallet for aftermarket items, but I also like the fact that I hardly see anyone else with an Offroad build 4runner. Enjoy your adventures and I am definitely looking forward to more videos!
I have just started watching you videos this past week. I started at the 2017s and working my way forward. The videos are great to watch and it makes me wish I was young enough to the same. However, I would have stayed in a few more hotels for the showers. You do a great job!!! I like the Jeep better.
Chris, how many states have you been to since going full time in the Jeep? Maybe consider a merchandise store with Venture4WD t-shirts, baseball caps, etc.. I imagine you have ample web-design artist contacts to help design a great Jeep/Venture4WD logo! I'd buy one! Keep up the great videos and be safe.
Bravo! Another great adventure shown and superbly shot with such beauty and sound. You have touched your viewers with natures wonders. The tourism will increase too as we all want to see these places for ourselves. We thank you for sharing and that rig is going to spoil you. Get yourself some spicey V 8 and add it to soups instead of water. Or just heat it and drink. Just a tip. Happy travels thanks again.
Holy smokes I thought I saw this truck parked in Ouray. I live there and was driving up Main St. I didnt know you were in it! Wow! Engineer on the Ouray side is as technical as it gets here though so good find. Poughkeepsie just has one rough obstacle thats it. The rest of the trail is cake. Whenever you're back I'll show you some of the lesser known trails!
I LOVE OURAY ! ... This is the moment I realize I am the guy who talks throughout the whole show...I will shut up now... but before I go.. .that thing is AWESOME!!!!!!
Very good to see you using another vehicle setup. This is real life testing and gives me insight into a product I would probably not consider... I really like it in fact. I think you are brave putting yourself out there, your own experiences and difficulties, for others to observe. One thing I notice... where are the proper meals when you get to restaurant. It's all pizza, burgers, wraps. How about a steak, veggies, gravy, starters, etc. I lived for years in the States, no longer do. I miss the vibrancy, the can do attitude of people (like you), the service you get, and hard work. I don't miss the food though. Great video and keep up the spirit!
Can't wait to watch more of this! Will be very interesting to hear your Tacoma vs jeep first hand experience. Especially since both of the set ups are self contained campers more or less
Ive had a Tacoma and a 5th gen 4Runner. I actually sold it recently and got a Jeep JLU Sport S to build up. For me the Jeep community where I am in Florida was a big reason. The aftermarket also just loves Jeep. I feel Im able to build the exact vehicle I want with it versus Toyota. Less options and the parts for them are $$$$ in comparison. Both are great but I think Jeep is just better for me.
As a Tacoma owner that set up aesthetically looks amazing I’m just not convinced personally I would enjoy reaching head level or above every time I needed to go into the kitchen.
June 4th 2018, hope you're safe? Fires in Colorado area! Wow and I thought of your safty although your driving away so I'm hoping your no where near this? Safe travels and great job as usual.
I love the video and man, what a gorgeous area too! I know I have said it before but your ability to capture nature's beauty is amazing! Just want to point out that a Tacoma with front independent suspension (camper aside) could not go the same places a similarly built JKU could (highly technical rock crawling where solid front axles/articulation, wheel base and departure angle excel for example) I would also be scared to drive that actual setup in more extreme environments, especially steeper off-camber trails. That being said, I am sure it makes an amazing overlanding vehicle/setup in most situations with several added conveniences that make life on the road easier. Just curious, what is the gross weight of that setup? Adventure on :)
I love watching your videos, they make me want to take my jeep on trips too. You do terrify me when you trek a mile or more and mountain goat your way up some rocky monolith. Please take a small backpack with a satellite phone, two days water, jerky and at least a space blanket to protect yourself from the elements in case you fall and break a leg or something. For my sake if nothing else :)
I love that you said adventure is not exclusive to a particular brand. My Wrangler is a big part of me but I'm gonna have to get a tow vehicle. Looks like I'm gonna have to let him go for now.
how did the 2016 tacoma handle at such high elevation? Xoverland mentioned the power delivery differences between the 2016 taco and those of the past. Did you notice it struggling at all at the low end or low speeds? I think I remember Ok4wd regearing, which I would assume would reduce/eliminate any power issues? thanks so much for the response. you videos keep getting better and better!
Will be interested in your honest review of the vehicle you are driving to New Jersey, as it is a Tacoma based vehicle and seriously underpowered considering the GVWR and the MPG details would be interesting also.
So since they look identical is this Tacoma the same truck that OK4WD built for Mountain State Overland? They released vids of it's build progress and this stuck is identical to it.
One of the best off road/camping/touring videos I’ve seen. Would love to see more videos like this. You just won a subscriber. What tire size suspension combo does this Taco have?
What wheels are they running on the Tacoma? Prototype AEV? I see the center cap but they look slightly different that what AEV is currently offering. Edit: found them. I believe they are AEV crestone dualsport wheels for the Colorado zr2.
I just don't know how I feel about this Chris...I mean, visually I struggle with the lack of orange in the videos. Will be interested to hear your final analysis once you get the vehicle back to OK4wd and get back to the JKU. Also, did you get new shoes?
I love your videos. I have watched many of them. Once in a while on other camper vehicles in your videos I see the black tube like structure on the right side of the hood like this truck has you are driving in this video. What the heck is it? Chris or anybody? And how much would it cost to outfit a Tacoma like this camper on it? Thanks and thanks for sharing your experiences they are Wonderful.
I feel like I missed a chapter! One moment you are heading north to Park City, UT with Jen, then with no explanation Jen is gone and you are trading the Jeep for a Toyota... what happened?
I love the way you edit and film to capture the surroundings. Most UA-camr's feel the need for music fills instead hearing nature. Sometimes less is more and we like to hear the gravel crunching under tires, the babbling brooks and just the sound of wind in the trees. Yours have a CBS Sunday Morning style to it when they close with just nature videos and no humans involved. Thank you for capturing this area with such artistry.
quadpit Very well described.
My wife and I love what you do keep going so many places to explorer
Chris you’re meeting the nicest people out there on your travels...
And the advice you offered up at the close to just get out there no mater your vehicle is wonderful. My wife and I would loved to have a Jeep, but we’re currently far from it. No offroad camping adventures for us yet, but someday it’ll happen.
You have a calm and personable way to document your adventure, we are enjoying it a great deal. Thanks for putting the hours in Fella
Love it!
I was in Ouray in March myself. That is beautiful country. Never knew about the alpine loop. Will definitely be going back now. Thanks for sharing
WOW . That shot at 16:49 .... great video work Chris ... oh and the truck is cool too !
This was a adventure and a half. Loved the mountains they remind me of our BC mountains. The Toyota Tacoma was interesting, right now we are in a RAV4 and it gets us places but the Tacoma would open us up to roads that are impassable to us.
Great video as always!

Fantastic scenic views ---- Rocky Mountain high
Over a year old...but I'm glad I found it. Wonderful stuff.
Outstanding Scenic Video footage ... You must have a high Quality camera gear ... I was most pleased and impressed by the Many folks that pass thru NO beer cans or Trash ... OverLanders are True Nature Patriots ... Leave No mark ... Keep up the great work / enjoy the journey .. drive Safe

Absolutely stunning video. What to say.., gorgeous scenery - and now I want a Toyota... Thank You for sharing
Just found your channel this month. Your camera work is fantastic! Great content. So happy to have found your channel. All the best.

"Don't wait. Just go" You are speaking to me right now. I used to get out and away and that has been elusive for a few years now. Need to refocus....
Great scenery with an excellent rig. Thanks
Enjoying watching your journey unfold. I love my JKU but that Alu-Cab setup is 👌🏼
I knew you would love the San Juan mountains. You will need to return, there is much more to enjoy. Glad to see the Cheese it's made the transition to the different vehicle.
I hope I get to see you here in Denver! Safe travels in that sweet rig.
What an awesome video! Thank you. You have inspired me.
That’s an awesome machine, dude!
But your jeep is hella cool 😎😬
While I am waiting for the next "Labrador" vid, thought I'd check some out your older stuff. I've been to Buena Vista, it is beautiful & a great place to explore.
What a beautiful and extremely well done video. The production quality is top notch. I love all of the crawling shots of the truck. Nice work
Looking good in that Tacoma Chris! I had a 2011 JKU and ended up blowing up the motor and eventually switched to a 2016 4Runner Trail. Great video. I hope you will do a full indepth walk around on the Toyota.
I have just started watching you videos this past week. I started at the 2017s and working my way forward. The videos are great to watch and it makes me wish I was young enough to the same. AWESOME VID! This is Travis the guy you met out front of Rhino Rack. Keep the comparisons coming between the Jeep and Tacoma!

Why must Fridays be so far apart..lol. Awesome places you got to explore this week. Keep up the solid work!!
Fantastic scenery!

Awesome ventures..Love it

Gotta have the spring water, especially for Overlanding!
Watching this now. I could see getting used to that setup in the truck!
As a Tacoma owner that set up aesthetically looks amazing I’m just not convinced personally I would enjoy reaching head level or above every time I needed to go into the kitchen.
Your Jeep looks to be more capable in the 4x4 mode. Love you work!
Love the video !! I'm in Denver area right now working. Would love to have caught up with you and check out your rig. Safe travels 🤙🏻
Good luck on thist trip👍
Outstanding, as usual!
June 4th 2018, hope you're safe? Fires in Colorado area! Wow and I thought of your safty although your driving away so I'm hoping your no where near this? Safe travels and great job as usual.
Another great video as usual! I wonder how many times people have told Goldbelts that they spelled 'Pizzeria' wrong on their sign at 8:53? lol
I love the video and man, what a gorgeous area too! I know I have said it before but your ability to capture nature's beauty is amazing! Binge watching backwards lol . One of my favourite vids btw

where does the water go after use?
Awesome video Chris!!!
Curious what you thought of sleeping in the tent portion of the Alucab. Is there enough room for two people? Thanks for sharing your journey!
There's enough for 2, and they have a 4 people unit. It's amazing.
Great video! Love that truck
I love that you said adventure is not exclusive to a particular brand. My Wrangler is a big part of me but I'm gonna have to get a tow vehicle. Looks like I'm gonna have to let him go for now.
Excellent!
I don’t know about the tacoma going the same place your jeep can go. Maybe the same places YOU go! 😜
how did the 2016 tacoma handle at such high elevation? Xoverland mentioned the power delivery differences between the 2016 taco and those of the past. You're going to Joizy? Stop and visit Camden to enjoy the ambiance that will be a life changing experience. Good luck.
At least there’s the aquarium lol
So since they look identical is this Tacoma the same truck that OK4WD built for Mountain State Overland? They released vids of it's build progress and this stuck is identical to it.

What tire size suspension combo does this Taco have?
Enjoyed your vid thanks
Did you happen to be driving through Kansas on I70 East, June 2nd?
If so we saw you while heading from Ohio to Colorado in my Tacoma.
What wheels are they running on the Tacoma? Prototype AEV? I see the center cap but they look slightly different that what AEV is currently offering.
Edit: found them. I believe they are AEV crestone dualsport wheels for the Colorado zr2.
I want jeep back. I love it
Love the vids Chris! Wondering if you think a 4x4 sprinter could make the same route?
Great video!
Hey Chris, great content as always! How did it handle with the weight of the camper and what was your gas mileage?
that thing is AWESOME!!!!
Late to the comments, but some of the local food vendors in Lake City serve "Packer Burgers". It's part of the local history.
It's strange seeing you in another 4X4..... I want the Jeep back.... Nice Vid.
I second Scott! ;)
Hi Jen...hope all is well.
Man your videos are awesome! Great work!
that thing is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
I came across this video. I will pray over my lottery ticket and if it comes in my first want is that camper shell
I actual drove by rhino rack the other day and said to myself that looks like venture 4wd's rig sure shit
The camera you're using is amazing. Clear, crisp and capable. Which Lunix model is it again?
It’s a LUMIX GH5
I just don't know how I feel about this Chris...I mean, visually I struggle with the lack of orange in the videos. Will be interested to hear your final analysis once you get the vehicle back to OK4wd and get back to the JKU. Also, did you get new shoes?
What lens are you using to capture those amazing shots!?
Crap, I forgot you got the GH5, WOW what a difference!!!!
You seem to consume lots of calories which makes me want to eat too! Your metabolism must be much higher than my old one. Keep it up!
How much does that camper weigh?
I love your videos. I have watched many of them. Once in a while on other camper vehicles in your videos I see the black tube like structure on the right side of the hood like this truck has you are driving in this video. What the heck is it? Chris or anybody? And how much would it cost to outfit a Tacoma like this camper on it? Thanks and thanks for sharing your experiences they are Wonderful.
I can see you getting an upgrade
This Man loves his cheese :-)
Trust me, your jeep can go places that truck can't. 100%.
At 21:28- chris always with his cheez-its 😂
lmao " ..that and....gravity..." hahaha
I’m sure that camper has a hose somewhere, everybody who’s ever owned an RV know s this item never leaves the camper
Good video
such a big Cheez It box.....
I would have taken all my stuff, and shipped it via UPS/FEDEX from NJ to CO.
I feel like I missed a chapter! One moment you are heading north to Park City, UT with Jen, then with no explanation Jen is gone and you are trading the Jeep for a Toyota... what happened?
Upgraded to the penthouse
