    You all did a great job leaving your parents’s yard. Your folks seem very sweet. I think it’s great what you are doing with your travel experiment. I also try to take secondary roads and visit small-town America. You are correct about the coldness in the east and coldness in the west. It is the humidity and it will make the cold “bone chilling”. I can’t wait for the next video.❤️🐾🇺🇸🙏

    I love my Road Atlas! I will always use one even with with GPS! 10 years ago, I drove from Arizona to Denver, then headed towards BC Canada to visit family! My cell phone back then wasn't the greatest and for whatever reason, I didn't want to use GPS, because I never really had before! 🤷 I grew up with maps and am pretty good at reading them (for a girl)! 😂😂😂 I am one of those people that likes to see the big picture, when traveling to a destination that I have never been before! Also, a Road Atlas doesn't need a cell signal and will never need charging! 😁😁😁 Basically, it's whatever works for you! Now, I use both!

      The crack is an a common issue with this model RV (and some similar models) from the early 2000s. There is a spot where the fiberglass will always crack unless you pull the nose off and weld a new piece of metal in there. We met people in Alaska who had one of the other models (same year) and they confirmed that when they went to fix it the frame wasn't cracked and no welds were broken - it's just a weird point with this rig. Crack has been there for 5 of our 6 years of RV life. -J

      We have a subscription, we generally have found Walmarts to be easier to get in and out of since we double up on grocery shopping and no need to make a reservation. 🙂 -J

    I noticed that off your slideout you have a cracked. I have the same thing on 2 of my slide out. Have you asked why this is happening?

    • @OpenRoading
      @OpenRoading  3 години тому +2

      Yes. For this model (and a few like it back in the early 2000s) there is a weak spot but not a break in the weld. It can be fixed but it requires pulling the nose off and adding some extra bracing. Have spoken to a few people that had the models that were on this frame and it was a common issue. One person had it fixed so they told me the procedure they had to go through. But like I had been told, in their case there were no broken welds or cracks in the frame before the fix. -J

    Make sure you have metal valve stems, or your sincere will break rubber stems off going down the road. Centrifugal force.

      @@gibbyactual2448 Haha, Well you can't be blamed because we say "get gas" all the time. It annoys some other people out there but to me, I'm only super specific about calling it diesel when I'm allowing someone else to borrow the truck who may need to fill it up. 😂 Otherwise... the terms gas and diesel are used to mean "fuel" for me. -J
