  • Join us as we finally conquer this big snowstorm. This one was full of challenges and trouble but we made it through to the end. The power went out during the storm which was the icing on the cake! Shout out to my neighbor who came through and wired my furnace so the pipes didn't bust. Enjoy

On the 7.3 i had very similar issues and it was to do with the IPR, there is a nut that holds the solenoid on and mine had rattled off so the solenoid was sliding back and forth and causing erratic running and stalling. It was a fiddle to get the nut back on and loctited but never had a problem since 👍. Worth a look to make sure yours is in place and tight 👌

    • @Jeremeytickle27

Similar on the 6.0 too! IPR will give similar hot stalls. Luckily never happened on mine.

I worked on 7.3’s for a long time and I came to say this. IPR valve solenoid, I was thinking at first hydraulic leak on the high pressure side, but the way it randomly shuts down and starts back up, id definitely look at a loose nut holding the solenoid. There was also a recall on the cam sensors where the engine would randomly shutdown.

One of the good things about recording all this is, people that normally would have no clue, get to see what we go through to try and keep streets plowed, or just how EASSSYYY it is in the construction trade to make a living. So the professionalism of this job (I’m speaking with zero experience) and that is displayed by so many who do these types of things is awesome because they know they have to deal with some unruly customers who just want things extremely perfect. highly recommend getting a generator for the house. i had an electrician run a wire from panel to the outside wall so i can just pull my wheeled generator from the garage to the house and run power to the main items for when this happens. a lot cheaper than having one of those big back up generators. great value

Congratulations to all of you, your Victory crew employee's & your family for staying so very positive with all the problems you encountered with such a large snowfall !
A recommendation for you...About 8-10 yrs ago I had an automatic 36kw GENERAC whole house generator installed. I have a 3200 sq ft house & 1200 sq ft garage. If electric goes out generator automatically takes over & when electric is restored generator automatically turns off.
I would highly recommend to look into one for your home for issues like you experience with snow in winter months !

Your 7.3 stumbling and stalling most likely is the Camshaft Position Sensor. It's quite possible it could also be the injection control pressure sensor, but more likely the camshaft position sensor. Wiring goes bad, connectors leak, or the sensor just fails after time. You should have a fault code, it may not trigger the check engine light, but good chances you have a Historic code set for OBD2.

Change the cam position sensor (CPS) on the 7.3, only get OEM though. It’s a 10mm bolt. Best to use a 1/4 drive ratchet with a deepwell 10MM. I always lay under the truck. Easy to change pops in and out.
