Busy Day Of Running

  • We got a call for a broken jeep at the top of the Gatekeeper Obstacle on Behind The Rocks Trail. They had broken a rear shaft, they had the new ones but couldn't get the pieces of the old one out. So we ran out to help them. We took our tool we have in the shop to do this and made quick work of it. We helped them get all back together and we headed back to the shop. Then we got a couple more calls so Mike headed out on one while Shawn and I ran into Pritchet Canyon to help another. The jeep was blocking the trail and some SxS's were coming out with a disabled rig so we helped them get up and around the jeep. Then we backed Trailmater down to weld the jeep back together. We got all the link mounts welded back together and got the shocks jambed into place so it could be driven out under its own power. All and all it was a long day but went pretty well. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Flashback for me when I watched the roll over about 4-5 years ago when the sub count was around 46k. Was always told as a kid growing up " if at first you don't succeed, try, try again". So as the years passed, and shit happens to all humans, and my mantra is "a little bit of try gets a whole lot of results" Rory IS and will always be "The People's Choice". One of these days maybe there will be a fleet of Trailmaters.

Rory, Mike, Shawn, we used a piece of exhaust tube cut about six inches down one end so only half the tube is left and slide it in to pick up broken parts. Admittedly this isn’t a tool you want to carry on any of your rigs, yet a very handy shop tool.. can send it in with the missing cut off on the bottom and when near the part roll the tube to pick up broken pieces.
Damn good advice on the “pump the brakes a few times” I sure hate that got no brakes t any time it happens

Nice repairs done again. Really cool to see you having fun while filming just to give Justin something extra. Even though this my all be in a days work for you, I find your repairs inventive when needed. The climb up the gatekeeper by Rory shows control of the skinny pedal gets the job done without busting up your own equipment. Shawn's climb up showed the same thing. Thanks for sharing.

Before switching to heavy duty axles in my Land Rover I'd often break stock... they were cheap so I carried several. I'd put a PVC pipe down the axle tube then a long reach magnet to fish the spline and any loose material. My quickest axle change was 17 minutes... kinda embarrassing now.

Yes, that is what I use them for, and they are super cheap. I use them to change the oil and grease our vehicles. I don't have a concrete driveway and us old people need some cushioning as we lost the natural cushioning starting at age 50.
