Also I don't remember if I ever mentioned it here, but I used to work in a thrift store. They get tons of photo paper in, at thrift stores. Thus, a very cheap way to supply our needs.😅
Thank you, Sasha! I love how you get excited to share your creative finds. Please, please, please take care of your family. We will do our best to take care of you & that darn algorithm.😊
OMG girl! You have literally blown me away! I've always used photo paper for my alcohol inks, but never THIS ! You know you have created a monster here! I have the paper, I have the oxides...I may never come out of the craft room again! Thank you for sharing your creativity and passion with us! I liked and subscribed cuz I gotta stick with you now!
Wow, Sasha, these are AWESOME!!! And thank you for sharing that you can "clean" Distress Oxides on photo paper with just water & a cloth. I've seen it done with a baby wipe, but I hate to keep throwing baby wipes into the landfill (ultimately) and, since I rarely use them for anything else, they end up drying out in the package, so I have to throw those out without even having used them. And don't even get me started on the plastic packaging they come in. :P Anyway, you have just saved me loads of woe, so again - thank you! :) I am STILL making holiday cards, so I don't have time just to "play" right now - not that making cards is dull work and not fun. There is a light at the end of the tunnel with that project, though, as I'm almost done! :) But I'll definitely keep this technique in mind for future crafting. Anyway, thank you once again for sharing this. Love all your backgrounds. I hope things settle down for you all soon. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
Hey you made me think. You said we could also emboss. How about a swiping of distress oxide and then run it through with a folder and the raised portions would wipe off, leaving the grey ish in the crevices?😮
Eye opener for sure, Sasha. This one is going to be saved and enjoyed over and over!! Thank you so much for sharing. Hope your water and computer woes get resolved soon.
These are amazing 😊 I want to suggest that can you kindly mention the names of stencils, folders, and especially ink names in the pinned comment. It helps us, who r visually disabled and can not read the ink names in the video. Thanks 😊
This reminds me of what we used to do decades ago with glossy card stock. It was all the rage back then and I still have a ton of it. I can’t remember if you tried this technique with glossy paper versus photo paper. I have both to use up lol so I’ll give it a go!
Great Video!! Question..when you did the oxide stencil and then the oxide color all over it, and then sprayed with water and wiped off, did you have to let both those layers dry first?
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Really excited to see that you had posted this. I have rewatched it and taken notes. All stocked up on photo paper (and also food colouring.) Hope this week is better for you than last week!!
As much as this technique is a delight to behold, it’s ever more a treat to view YOU demonstrating it! The joy in your soul comes through the airwaves and is contagious!! Thank you for sharing both with me! 🙏 ‼️
MIND BLOWN WIDE OPEN! I have stacks of 4 x 6 glossy and satin photo paper just sitting around. Tomorrow the gloves go on (literally) and backgrounds will be made! So many thanks!
ha ha i love comments like this, make my day! Hope you have fun, if you look at the play list there are a ton of other ideas ive discovered on there :)
WOW! WOW!! WOW!!! Love this technique!!! When I print some of my photos, I keep the photo paper scraps and now I will use them for your technique. Thank you for sharing this. I love your videos and crafting style. Take care and Happy Holidays to you and your family!!!
These Are Soooo cool Sasha! I must try this in the new year... my craft space is a Christmas preparedness disaster right now though! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and hope everything is going better for you and your family! I had a rough 2023 too and am looking forward to a better 2024 for All!! 😊
What a ‘WOW’ technique! I love how these came out. Thanks so much for sharing. Also, I’m sorry for how difficult life has been for you lately. Hang in there.
I may give up on card stock and stock up on Photo paper. This stuff is so much fun! Great discovery adventure Sasha.... I would love to be a fly in your brain just listening to all the creative thoughts going round! 🤩 Happy and Blessed Christmas sweet girl....🌲☃🌲❄ hope Santa brings you all you want and 2024 is filled with love, healthy, happiness and prosperity! ❤💯🍾🥂
Such an amazing technique! I have to try this right now as I have lots of photo paper and distress oxide inks. RED AND GREEN? I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks so much!
Sasha!!! This is totally amazing!! I can not wait to try this!! Sorry to hear about the water in the house!! But glad you got it fixed!! Always enjoy your videos!! Hope you and family have a wonderful and blessed Christmas and New Year!!
Oh WOW Sasha, you are amazing. Love, love, love your videos. This video in particular has me hooked. I’m off to find some photo paper for a play. Already have heaps of Distress Oxide inks. 😊. Thank you so very much for sharing this. It’s so different to anything I’ve seen. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family and hopefully your flood problem will be sorted soon. Can’t wait for your next explosion of fun. 💕
This is so cool! I’m not a big fan of oxides and always regret buying the first pack that came out because of the chalky finish. This technique takes the chalkiness away completely! I love it! Thank you for the technique and inspiration 💕☺️😍😍😍
This is so amazing! I can't figure out why I never get that kind of saturation from my ink pads, though. I just happened to have a brand-new Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink pad. And I didn't get nearly that amount of saturation. But I never do... compared to videos I see online. My ink pads always seem to have so much less ink in them. I know that's not true, but it does feel that way. Weird. Anyway, thank you for the video. This technique is fun!
This technique is soooo cool! The ideas/possibilities are just flowing from this! I came here from Ardyth’s UA-cam channel and had to watch this! Will definitely support & watch all the rest of your videos and subscribe as well! Hope you , your family & your house are doing better! ❤
WOWZA!!!! I have so much photo paper, and this has got to be the absolute best way I’ve ever seen to use it!!! I use it mostly for alcohol inks but now I can’t wait to try these techniques!!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! ❤🤗
I love your channel and am so sorry it has slowed. I enjoy your creative ideas and content. I am happy for you that your channel allows you to be a stay-at-home momma ❤ That is a rare and beautiful thing!! Going back to your channel slowing down, sadly, I think UA-cam messes with great channels like yours! Keep up the great work!!
❤ you have definitely inspired me to use up some photo paper I had lying around. I haven't seen all of your videos on this topic yet, but I was having a play tonight. I just had some watered distress ink in a spray and sprayed through a stencil! Oh my....love love love this technique!! Thank you for the inspiration!!!❤
Wow, awesome video! I have so much photo paper that didn't get used over the years and now I know what I can do with it. I did not know you can wipe away the chalky layer of distress oxides, amazing. Thanks for sharing!
yes and it's beyond satisfying! Photo paper is so resilient! it really can take a lot, i was scared the first time i used water on it and then realised it just copes! it's amazing magic paper
So sorry to hear of your misfortunes! Amazingly none of that comes through in voice. I’m sending good vibes, best wishes, prayers, etc., your way, that things settle out soon.
I'm loving this. Can't wait to give it a try. ❤ I just got my shipment from Amazon with food coloring to try your last technique. Now I just have to find the time. Thanks so much. Your enthusiasm is contagious.
Absolutely beautiful, can't wait to try these, thank you so much for taking the time to post. Hope you and your family are all happy and healthy, Merry Christmas!
These are amazing! I absolutely love the results!! After doing mass production of Christmas cards I am ready to play with paper and inks. This technique is on the top of my list to try. Thanks so much for sharing your videos. I always look forward to watching them!
you've done it again sasha absolutely beautiful and great ideas i will be trying this technique i am watching you from nottingham in the UK please keep sending us your ideas thankyou.love to you and your family. Love hazel.x.x
An amazing look with all the inks on the photo paper. Colours are SO vibrant. I can see the necessity for gloves lol We have not had much snow in central Ontario but some coming tonight. Hope your Mum is well . Love does travel miles to keep in touch when you are far apart.🎄
That is awesome ! I recently acquired a ton of photo paper from a thrift store. Didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I can't pass up a good sale. Thanks to you, I now know what I will be doing with it! I love how excited you get when showing your talent. One question...can you direct to paper stamp on it? Or will it not dry and therefore smear?
Sasha, thank you for sharing these ideas. I struggle with making masculine cards and I think I will try some of these ideas and see which one works best! Thank you for sharing.
These are gorgeous but I have a question . How does the Matt photo paper look glossy , I don’t understand . Does it look different with oxides on glossy photo paper ? Can you wipe dusty layer off and get the same vibrant colour underneath ?
These are amazing Sasha. I have found some photo paper that we must have bought a very long time ago. Not sure if it is the age or the type of paper but my Distress Oxide ink certainly isn’t drying almost instantly. It is also beading rather than going on in a solid colour. Any suggestions or advice?
I’m just about out of photo papers. lol hope the electronics and family trials are on the up and up now, even though Christmas is only a few days away, I think UA-cam becomes a ghost town that day, unless some have it prescheduled love the looks of these, y’all have a beautiful holiday season Tfs ❤😊
Stopped the video part way through to order matte photo paper😂and then watched to the end. I looove Oxides. Merry Christmas to you and yours Sasha from Australia
Great techniques. I’ve used alcohol inks on photo paper but don’t think i would ever have thought to do the stencil on then cover with oxides technique. But now I can’t wait to try.
Also I don't remember if I ever mentioned it here, but I used to work in a thrift store. They get tons of photo paper in, at thrift stores. Thus, a very cheap way to supply our needs.😅
Yes! I was going to suggest thrift stores! I have a large stash of photo papers that I got super cheap from thrift stores!
If you didn't know, Tim Holtz has a Distress Micro Glaze which seals in the oxide layer, and also allows you to add more color over it.
Thank you, Sasha! I love how you get excited to share your creative finds. Please, please, please take care of your family. We will do our best to take care of you & that darn algorithm.😊
Oh my gosh!!! I think the stencil technique with the oxides is my favorite!!!!! 🤩
OMG girl! You have literally blown me away! I've always used photo paper for my alcohol inks, but never THIS !

Astounding results, Sasha! I've hit the Doldrums with crafting lately, but this technique has inspired me again! Thank you 🤗
Oh im so pleased! I hope you give it a go, it's so satisfying
Sasha is the satin what you use for matt or the semi gloss? Absolutely beautiful cards and technique!!!
Hey you made me think. You said we could also emboss. How about a swiping of distress oxide and then run it through with a folder and the raised portions would wipe off, leaving the grey ish in the crevices?😮

Wow. In 2024 I will have to try the Distress Oxide Inks. I already have the photo paper ☺️

So sorry to hear of your misfortunes! Amazingly none of that comes through in voice. I’m sending good vibes, best wishes, prayers, etc., your way, that things settle out soon.
I just tried a few pieces using Distress Oxides, and for some reason the Cracked Pistachio color wipes right off! And I love that color so much.
I'm loving this. Can't wait to give it a try. ❤ I just got my shipment from Amazon with food coloring to try your last technique. Now I just have to find the time. Thanks so much. Your enthusiasm is contagious.

Brilliant! I just ordered 2 boxes of matte photo paper haha I can't wait to play!
I tried it twice, one worked pretty good the other one rubbed off when I wiped it down.??? What am I doing wrong. I love what you’ve done . Thks
Came here from Ardyth , very interesting technique but a bit too fast and chaotic to follow properly
Thanks for doing the hard work/play of experimenting with lots of inks and types of paper for us!
Oh yes, can't wait to try this technique. Stunning results.. Tfs xx
Hi, I have a quick question. When you use the stencil and wipe off the powder from the oxide ink does what you don't wipe off come off on your hands?
What great ideas, love them. I will be trying this technique today.
How do you set a background that's oxide and partially wiped with water?
Love that technic Sasha thanks for sharing huni ,big hugs Katie 🩵❄️🩵
Love this technique! Thank you for sharing!
That's really cool i would definitely be wanting to give this a go,really enjoyed this tutorial tfs ❤
Lovely ideas!!! Thank you for sharing!
Great techniques. I’ve used alcohol inks on photo paper but don’t think i would ever have thought to do the stencil on then cover with oxides technique. But now I can’t wait to try.
I don't even have Uncharted Mariner yet but it is my favorite also!!
Beautiful!! I have lots of photo paper, and I can’t wait to play!!
Stunning backgrounds! Can’t wait to try!!!😊
Sasha you are amazing, I love all your videos and your enthusiasm xxx
Can you do this technique with food coloring?? I love that video.
