Being a complete 63 year old newbie, I just want to say thank you,and I appreciate you,and the other blender chaps who give your time, and expertise freely to help people who want to learn blender
I love these types of people that direct you to the resources you might be looking for, it's clear their motive isn't fame and money but passion for their craft and a desire to help others learn and create. Blender secrets unkept from the public and not gatekept or behind paywalls (though there are great courses out there for a quicker guide to whatever you're seeking to learn in blender). You definitely earned a sub and a long time viewer, I can't wait to learn more from you all
I'll give a shout out to Imphenzia. His low poly, 10 min, blender videos is what got me into blender. He's clear, easy to follow, and you can really get in and make interesting things without having to learn a million different things at once. And he really drills the basics into you so you're not just jumping from one new thing to another forgetting everything you just learned.
Actually I started with the Blender Fundamentals playlist from the official Blender channel, I did never watch the donut tutorials. I really recommend it, they're really short (sub 5 min) videos that explain the basics, and if you happen to know one of them you can just skip it. It may be the equivalent to reading the manual, so it's not project-oriented, but I think it is a good introduction to Blender.
I started with Imphenzia's low poly tutorial. Obviously not everyone wants to do low poly, but this video helped me learn the most basic tools for your day-to-day projects (E-to extrude, S-to scale, R- to rotate, G-to move. Rinse, repeat). From there, I could branch out to more tutorials.
Your title around 0:20 has a typo in it, said 'payed' instead of 'paid'. Been binging your videos for a while, love the short tutorials learning meaningful stuff. I just don't have the attention span for very long videos. Have a sub!
I just started my blender journey 2 days ago and I’m current doing the donut tutorial but this video right here was exactly what I needed. I wanted to test out as much from blender as I could to see what I like best. Thanks for this!
My guy, I'm working for a few music labels, doing 3D models and animations... I'm not an expert in any way, but I have to say that your channel is one of the most useful, easy to understand and inspiring channel in UA-cam. Thank you king❤️
The best way to learn blender today is not to do it at all. AI generated imagery is quickly becoming the norm. Blender artists are a relic of the past.
I have to say, as a new be if it wasn't for your and Blender Guru's vids I probably wouldn't have started with Blender at all. Been at it for about 3 months now and I love the community. Thanks for all your work!
I don't think there's a lot of person like you i mean your teaching everybody for free and your sopperting others as well i am watching you from last 8 months and your videos helped me so much thank you for this and bro you gain more than love you gain blessings (love from India)
Awesome video! Started learning from Blender Guru over a decade ago, I think. Fell off for a very long time, have been using Fusion360 for designs of functional parts for 3D Printing and have been thinking of getting full blown back into Blender. Been looking where to start with the newer versions of Blender since they are quite a bit diff than when I left the software and I really enjoy how you broke it down by categories. Also, I'm sorry but I can't help it: "Payed?" :P
It has been about a month since I decided to learn Blender and many other softwares to build up a career as a 3D artist. I started with the famous Donut Tutorial but I couldn't finish it so instead I searched different channels until I found polygon runway. I completed a few of the tutorial and got back to the Andrew Price 's Chair tutorial and learnt a lot of things now that I am able to use blender better. I will check all the other accounts mentioned here because I am kind of stuck and hopeless because I only create things by following tutorials! Hope I can improve myself better. This is a great video and I am a subscriber now :)
A way to get over the "I only create things from tutorials" hurdle is by assigning yourself homework after each tutorial -- create something similar (so you repeat the workflow and operations you just learned), but different enough that it still challenges you. Do 2 or 3 per tutorial. Before striking out entirely on your own, you need to build up a repertoire of skills, but if you do this you will be doing more and more complex stuff on your own, and eventually you'll just do tutorials to expand your overall knowledge base..
I have only paid for a single Blender course...it was a 10 step intro to blender.....after that, all of my learning has been from people kind enough to post their tutorials for free. I have Subscribed to your channel and look forward to following along!
Ayy thank you for the shoutout man! You were one of my primary inspirations when I got started on UA-cam, so thank you for everything that you do! 💖 Happy new year- and hope you continue to crush it this year too! :D
The biggest feather in Blender's cap is the amazingly large community of helpful artists and talent helping others get into CGI. Very useful list, thank you!
I can't tell you how well spoken and organised this was. The perfect confidence boost. I have a couple college classes of experience with Maya, Zbrush and Substance Painter, so hopefully dipping my toe in Blender and picking up from there won't be too bad.
mind boggling, especially in the time of content creation in 2023, to see a video where he literally only talks highly of other channels and points them in that direction. very bold, very respectable. love to see it!
I love how clearly you can tell you are using a directional pattern mic as your cat muffled your voice so much when they walked in between you and the mic.
Honeslty Ducky, Im azrul and i start to learn about blender 1 month ago when i saw you tutorial i was shock cause in my mind i though blender hard to learn but i keep on study about blender everyday and saw you video here and today i can make own animation THNKYOU SO MUCH AND REALLY APPRECIATE :) AZRUL FROM MALAYSIA !!!!!
Actually as another free tutorial course CrossMindStudio is a really great artist and a very good teacher, I love his style, he covers most of the things if not all of them and he keeps adding more and more videos. His channel is worth visiting and going through for beginner and advanced learners.
Glev at CreativeShrimp is one of my favorites too...his Cinematic Lighting Course should be included also maybe in a part 2 ..he breaks own Cinematic lighting like no one else does..his style is well paced and so easy to follow. Aria Faith also has some really good Blender simulation tutorials easy to follow and also ery well paced
It's insane to think how far blender has come 🤯 It's even more insane that 95% of people haven't subscribed to the tutorial master Ducky 😤 In all seriousness, thanks for the honorable mention man 🙏 Connecting with you and these other amazing Blender creators over the past year has been incredible and your help/guidance means the world💛
im new to blender, but I have learned so many things for free. I learned python/R/SQL, I learned business analysis and how to visualize that stuff, I learned how to make furniture, how to solder, do hydroponics, so many things without paying. I used to say that you pay for a better aesthetic in the presentation and theres something to be said about a cleaner, more polished lecture. But I dont even think thats true anymore because Canva and apps like that are so powerful.
I really appreciate this video. I just started my Blender journey this week, and hopefully I’ll stay on it. This’ll definitely help. I was already struggling with figuring out which tutorials would be best to start with. So yeah, thanks for this.
Best nodes channel - CGMatter/Default Cube. That guy knows his stuff. Never seen a channel like him on youtube ever. Glad he made it into the honorable mentions, but he definitely deserves a sub
After a long hiatus of animation, this is super sick. I've wanted to specialize in motion graphics/animation, so I'm for sure sticking around. And the other channels are also great for just learning how to navigate the fundamentals of other areas. Good job on the video! It's super helpful for a returning user like me!
Ive been going at blender for 8 plus years but the last 3 years with you, and the various artists in the other videos you mentioned in the Free section, and I thank you all for everything!!!
Crossmind Studios also has a good tutorial series for the basics (7 days of blender). They continue on to all different kinds of subjects. I think they're still working on a series about geometry nodes. Very good stuff! 👍
I concur; I would personally say that as an absolute beginner, Crossmind Studios' days of Blender is the best place to being. What I really like about it is that he assumes that you know nothing about the program going in (which in my state when I first watched him after stumbling through some tutorials was a pretty fair assessment) and starts off by just showing the tools and functions that the software offers. To give a carpentry analogy, he starts you off with letting you learn about your hammers, drills, wrenches, circular saws, drill presses, etc. Not asking you to build anything with them right away, just getting to know how they work, what they look like, and where to find them. That way, when a later instruction asks you to reach for a tool - you know what it is and where to find it. I found I was able to retain more just following along and taking notes on what-does-what than I did with following specific tutorials on building things. It made going through some of the other tutorials around UA-cam much less frustrating when I didn't have to pause and rewind every few seconds to find the function that they had just mentioned they needed to use (which I would forget in about a minute anyway because they would then move on to the next thing - which then causes my short term memory to dump to pick up the next thing.) TLDR; Crossmind Studios' course is an excellent place for building a proper foundation from the ground up.
I've watched and learned from pretty much everyone on this list, including you sir, I still have some of the tutorial projects that I learned from you on my profile. I'm starting to move onto creating my own stuff but I still check out tutorials all the time, you can never learn enough and there's always a new technique or add-on or just new stuff to learn. So I'll keep watching ya and def will always check in for more tutorials. Thanks for all the help and inspiration brotha, big props and respect from a fellow artist, keep crushin it kid!
Thank you for the list & breaking it up into who teaches what blender has become so popular youtube is a sea of artists with their own style & skill set
JUST WHAT I NEEDED! THANKS A LOT FOR THIS VIDEO!! I haven't seen video that compiles and groups tutorials into themes. Very useful not only for beginners but for pros too( I think because I am just a beginner in this matter 😁) I hope to get some time and at least nudge some of mentioned tutorials myself :D But now back to character creation and finishing Unreal Engine tutorial project. Best wishes and I hope you make more Blender-related content!!
This video was so helpful! AE guy trying to improve my 3D skills. I never got very far with Cinema 3D to justify the cost, so I'm giving Blender a try. Love how you shout out other 3D creatives and provide a breakdown of the various 3D disciplines. Subscribed here and on Patreon, plus already purchased your Mograph course and Realtime Materials.
I had heard of some of these people before, but it's great to get an overview like this. Learned a few new names to check out, and I'm feeling inspired. 😃 Thanks Ducky3d
Blender guru is great, but i really liked a few videos from a creator that just made models out of the cube. I found it faster to learn because i made more things. The donut itself might need to be made 1 or 2 times to actually remember some of the info...
Would be nice with clickable links in the description 😊 Here are the UA-camrs. www.youtube.com/@blenderguru www.youtube.com/@JoshGambrell www.youtube.com/@DerekElliott www.youtube.com/@grabbitt www.youtube.com/@SouthernShotty www.youtube.com/@RyanKingArt www.youtube.com/@CurtisHolt www.youtube.com/@polygonrunway www.youtube.com/@CGGeek www.youtube.com/@maxhay5426
It's a gift when you find someone who can guide and help you when learning something new. I'm just starting with blender and your video was one of the first videos I watched. Thank you so much
Brilliant list and there is nothing wrong with going free or paid, but looking at your list, the Photogrammetry course is more impressive because it uses GIMP and Darktable, which are all FREE. Nothing to pay just like Blender. I think most people would jump onto Photoshop and Lightroom, which are paid apps, but as GIMP and Darktable are open-source, you have that community behind you for quick responses and fixes. Grant Abbitt has helped me a lot, plus some Udemy courses and CGBoost. Can't recommend them enough. Great video.
Hi everyone! i finally decided to learn Blender. Now this program is comfortable for me, cause i have some problems with money. Today is second day of Ramadan 2023 and i hope that my beginning will be lucky. Please wish me good luck it will inspire me , thanks a lot for everyone, be happy my friends!
😮 Really? I saw the name and thought it couldn't be right 😂 Perhaps because i've only got bad associations to him from all of his scamming endeavours 🫣 Glad to hear he does something right...
Thank you so much for all the recommendations. There's a plethora of varied creators and tutorials online, and when someone is starting, they can get pretty overwhelmed or... get into a fit of analysis paralysis. I've been trying my hands at Blender since the early versions, from decade ago. But never gotten to get any usable knowledge at all - And today, I'm a backend developer by profession, and that life has started to make a little bit more sense... I'm getting back to my old interests and hobbies. And this video gave pretty good overview of how to get started, and where to refer to, in case I wanted to go deep. This is super helpful. Just watching your video gave me the confidence, I can do something with Blender too. Thanks again! :)
Awesome! I watch this video 2 months ago, watching videos from those channels, and decided to try starting my own youtube channel making tutorial for 3d blender, i think that will be a good way to keep learning and tracking my progress, and also finding friends to learn together
Finally an honest video about some serious creators, i followed blender's suff for a while, and yeah i pretty much agree with most of the recommendations in this video, i whish i had seen it earlier... I would have saved some time instead of seeing something here, something there maybe re-watching the same stuff because some people don't go deep enough in certain problems.
I've been struggling to find a good set of tutorials for blender, as someone who's completely new to 3D art, it's been pretty daunting. You've curated a great list here, i'm going to take a look at a bunch of these channels! Thanks for the help dude.
gosh! thank you very much for this video, I have just started my blender journey with no prior 3D experience. I must say the learning curve is steep! I find even the donut course a big struggle for me. However your recommend channels are really helpful! thank you!
Honorable mention - Blender Bros Hard surface modelling Mech course. I literally got a job at indie studio as Hard surface modeller by completing that course
I knew about CG cookie, Blender guru and one other but now since watching your video, i have a whole lot more channels to watch, and i just sub to your channel, thanks a lot for the info.
Wow there are a lot of these guys I had no idea. Thank you for making this video!!!! This is why I love the blender community pulling togethe and helping the little guy learn.
Dude, thank you so much for this list - I've been going through each channel you suggested and as a total Blender noob it's becoming clearer and clearer how much value your video is packing. Thank you!
I can confirm that BlenderGuru's beginner tutorial is the best I have ever watched and followed along. And most other people/channels say that as well.
I'm just revisiting blender after 3/4 years as I started making music instead. Looking to use it alongside UE5 for film and video and I'm so happy this is the first video I watched 😄 Subbed to you and will be back after the donut tutorial 🤣
When it comes to learning, you gotta learn to crawl before you can walk, walk before you can run, and run before you can learn to fly. (figuratively) Start with simple basic shapes. Learn what does what in the UI. Take it slowly, even though it may be boring and tedious, you are laying the foundation for your future accomplishments. It is likely a tendency to want to jump right into the deep end of the pool, but if you do, you will be overwhelmed and increase your frustration and likelihood of quitting. Play with what you are learning. Make it fun. That way, you will want to come back and learn more the next session. Learning the UI is really the most basic place to start, by DOING stuff in the software. I think it is good to learn from one person, at least at the beginning, so that you don't get confused by how another person does the same thing. In other words, there are more than one way to do many things in Blender and other software products as well.
Thank you so much for providing this information! I’ve been putting off blender since pandemic because I was so intimidated… but I promised myself that I would move forward with 3D design in the new year. So I’ll be jumping on this for sure!
Would also recommend Ian Hubert!! Has a lot of really entertaining tutorials and has a TON of useful tips for making low poly movie scenes in blender that look amazing! for an example check his dynamo dream video and his lazy tutorial series
This video is so useful!! Especially for people like me who just started and don't even know what they don't know. It's so good to see what and where is there to learn about Blender. Thanks!
Bro few months ago I was regretting on my decision why I started blender maybe it lacks in rendering but you made me confident and motivated by making video!!! Love your content.❤🔥🔥

any video like this for unreal engine 5?
I'll give a shout out to Imphenzia. His low poly, 10 min, blender videos is what got me into blender.

It may be the equivalent to reading the manual, so it's not project-oriented, but I think it is a good introduction to Blender.
Yes that’s a good one!
Ducky got me up and running really fast (even if I had to slow down his videos to half speed when I first started learning Blender ) 😆
Sir, can you give me the official blender channel links for the blender fundamental playlist? Plz
It depends on your learning style actually, I'm better at learning with making projects instead of theorical knowledge
Your title around 0:20 has a typo in it, said 'payed' instead of 'paid'. Been binging your videos for a while, love the short tutorials learning meaningful stuff. I just don't have the attention span for very long videos. Have a sub!

The Blender community is so amazing! Great video as always!

Much love! ❤

Ah yes. Logan Paul. The og of 3d and blender. Older than Blender Guru
That’s what I’m saying!!
I’m just getting started in 3D art with blender and I appreciate this video thank you
JUST WHAT I NEEDED!
THANKS A LOT FOR THIS VIDEO!!
I haven't seen video that compiles and groups tutorials into themes. Very useful not only for beginners but for pros too( I think because I am just a beginner in this matter 😁)
I hope to get some time and at least nudge some of mentioned tutorials myself :D
But now back to character creation and finishing Unreal Engine tutorial project.

It's a gift when you find someone who can guide and help you when learning something new. I'm just starting with blender and your video was one of the first videos I watched. Thank you so much
Didn't know that Logan Paul was a blender teacher 😂
Brilliant list and there is nothing wrong with going free or paid, but looking at your list, the Photogrammetry course is more impressive because it uses GIMP and Darktable, which are all FREE. Nothing to pay just like Blender.
I think most people would jump onto Photoshop and Lightroom, which are paid apps, but as GIMP and Darktable are open-source, you have that community behind you for quick responses and fixes.
Grant Abbitt has helped me a lot, plus some Udemy courses and CGBoost. Can't recommend them enough.
Great video.
Best way to learn blender:
1. UA-cam
2. Practice
3. More UA-cam
4. More practice
That’s right!!
Logan Paul truly is an artistic genius when it comes to blender
😮 Really? I saw the name and thought it couldn't be right 😂
Perhaps because i've only got bad associations to him from all of his scamming endeavours 🫣
Glad to hear he does something right...
"paid" ; )
Oops
i saw that lol
Don't worry, Ducky did that on purpose to get interaction in the comments like we are doing now :)
@@Techx if you knew me you would know I’m bad at spelling haha
@@Techx yes, a cunning ploy : )
Grant is my favorite!! I learn so much from HIM!!
Its a blessing that this video popped on to the feed. Thank you for creating this video ❤
I cant thank you enough, man. I have been bumping around and did not know what to do next.
Thanks for the update about all of the new people that are currently doing the most updated and interesting
thanks a lot buddy! im switching from analog videography/vjing to a 3d in 2024 and your video is a gem!
That’s awesome
Hi im curious is 12gb of laptop ram enough for doing these kind of things ?
@@RichardGiovanniNainggolan I slay with 8gb ram 😅
Wow there are a lot of these guys I had no idea. Thank you for making this video!!!! This is why I love the blender community pulling togethe and helping the little guy learn.
You are now on My Radar.
Thank you.
I am excited.
Namaste
Dave Ross
I liked your honesty! In words and character!
Dude, thank you so much for this list - I've been going through each channel you suggested and as a total Blender noob it's becoming clearer and clearer how much value your video is packing. Thank you!
This is the video I have been searching for long time.... Thank you❣️
thank you for the encouraging words at the end. tis very boring and it feels good to know I'm not the only one who feels/felt that way.
(figuratively)
Start with simple basic shapes.
I believe CrossMind Studio is a channel that most recommendations forget.
This guy is on a whole other level.
I hope I'll become a better man this coming year with you. Thank you!
Would also recommend Ian Hubert!! Has a lot of really entertaining tutorials and has a TON of useful tips for making low poly movie scenes in blender that look amazing! for an example check his dynamo dream video and his lazy tutorial series
Chocofur and Darin Lile's archviz tutorials have been super helpful for me.
Bro Grant Abbit is my everything. I love that dude
You are one of these best channel, so it's right that you mention yourself. Keep going !
Thank you so much for giving the beginners a track to run on
This video is so useful!! Especially for people like me who just started and don't even know what they don't know. It's so good to see what and where is there to learn about Blender. Thanks!
Bro few months ago I was regretting on my decision why I started blender maybe it lacks in rendering but you made me confident and motivated by making video!!! Love your content.❤🔥🔥
my first yt video I watch is from your channel the video is tunnel 1 years maybe so big thanks to you (much love)
Thanks a lot Ducky!
Luckily YT recommended me this video, which feels like a knowledge seeder ;)
