Thank you so much. I have tried to follow several tutorials for this pattern but gave up in frustration each time. Today I came across yours and was able to complete the spiral. Your tutorial is clear, each step explained and it is the right place. ❤️❤️💯👍
TY so much for an easy to follow pattern! All the ones I've found before were just overly complicated for some reason or just didn't give that clean spiral look. This is perfect.
My previous message wanted to turn the square into a granny on neglected to tell you how fabulous I think you're tutorials are I've tried to follow others and got the best instruction from you thank you and keep up the good work❤
I want to finish the two colored spiral off to a granny. I started an Afghan making black and white faces and solid black and now I'm going to put a few of these spirals in there but I need it to come out to a granny
Again i did part 2 with you and its perfect guidance and instruction EXCEPT.If i dont want to add more colors how do o finish or fasten off these 2 colors? Or where can i find the instructions? Help!! And thx!
If you would like to taper off the ends, you could do something like 2hdc, 2sc, 2slst. I just meant to show the increase technique, how you choose to apply it to a project is up to you.
Yay at last a 2 colour spiral is working for me no longer is that project hidden at the bottom of my "how on earth am I going to do this"box thank you and when my daughter gets this gift I am making her I know she will thank you also
I want to try 3 colours and also thread a continuous Metallic strand through all 3 colours ...so i get that i should do 4 stitches of each colour and increase in the sa.e way as you have did 12 stiches every round. Is there away i can continue with the each colour until i get to the end of each section so that I don't have to keep cutting the metallic thread and rejoining it ?
Hi Carol, I’m not sure there is a way to do that, but what if you split the metallic yarn into 4 equal parts and then had one section for each color and never cut and joined at all!
Thanks ill Jay this is exactly what I needed. I even phoned a friend and had a cup of tea with her and we still couldn't work out what I was doing wrong. after following your tunes I realise I was placing the markers in the wrong place. I'd like to ask though, how do I finish off the round to make it taper in?
I’m so glad you found it helpful, thanks for watching! If you would like to make the ends taper in I would do a couple sc, and then a couple slip stitches, and then tie off.
Hi Bubble girl, I believe there could be numerous ways to incorporate this into a sweater depending on how you want to apply it. I don’t have a pattern for this type of thing but I do like the idea.
what happens if instead of doing one double in one stitch then the 2 doubles in the next and then the single double in the next after that but instead of doing that what if it was just 2 doubles in each stitch what would happen then
There are multiple ways to fasten on with a new color, this is just how I do it. Try searching for other videos that specifically go over switching colors and ways to fasten on.
Hi Angel, the granny square around a circle is actually pretty complicated and more than I could ever describe in a comment. I would search other videos that do specifically that.
Hi Melody, I left the pattern open ended because I was mostly just showing the technique of the spiral to apply to a multitude of other projects, rather than a project in and of itself.
Absolutely love your spiral! Much easier than others I’ve seen and prettier! Thanks so much! New fan!
Thanks Liz!

This is the best 2 colour spiral tutorial I've seen by far. My spiral has stayed flat and remained in a circle. Thank you so much 😊

Used this technique on a tube shape and it worked great! Thanks!

A spiral blanket sounds lovely!!
@@crochet.with.illjay how do we turn it into a blanket?

I'm thinking how to do this as a skirt, it's kinda fascinating actually
Thanks for the excellent clear instructions.
It's a beautiful pattern.Hi after the 2 1,1,2 what's the next round
Hi Stephanie, the pattern goes as such: dc2, dc1 in next 3. dc2, dc1 in next 4. dc2, dc 1 in next 5...etc
@@crochet.with.illjay oh my God thank you so much ...I finally got it thanks

Thank you so much🤗🤗 I'm going to incorporate this into my derby gear
Right on! Thanks for watching.
Good clear instructions. Thank

I plan to make a blanket like this how would you make a border. Could you recommend something
Hmm, what about a pico stitch boarder?

@@crochet.with.illjay thanks that works great, and I have gone on to complete the 4 colour spiral also. It is very calming😃
How is this finished? With a slip stitch ?
Yes!!! Thank you for this! Subbed and liked! Wo0t!
Thank you!
Could you tell the music? Great tutorial too 😊
Thank you, the music was custom designed for me by Jules Jenssen .
So pretty I'm confused I appreciate it
Definitely start with one color if you haven’t yet. I have a video for this too.
Is there a written pattern for this? :)
Can you help me turn mine into a granny square after? I’m making a cardigan pocket.
I will consider that as a tutorial. Too much for a comment.
Thank you for the Video 👍👍💐🌹
Thanks for watching!

Hi Zaya, if you did 2 doubles in each stitch for more rounds it would increase too much and become wavy
what yarn are you using in this video? Can I use a red heart yarn arylic? Blair I love your work
Yes that will be great. I am using a worsted weight acrylic too.
@@crochet.with.illjay oh ok sounds good perfect 👍 💐🧸 💕 love your work
Mine does not lay flat as I increase it. What do you think is the problem pls?
If it is a bowl shape, you are not doing enough increases. If it is wavy around the edges you are increasing too much.
but how do I end this project with it being a perfect circle?
You could taper off the different colors by doing maybe 2 hdc, 2 sc, 2 slst
nice video BUT you have missed showing how to end the circle??
You can end it however you want, depending on what you are using it for.
Is there a different way to join color 2 ?
There are multiple ways to fasten on with a new color, this is just how I do it. Try searching for other videos that specifically go over switching colors and ways to fasten on.
How would you end this for a granny square?
Hi Angel, the granny square around a circle is actually pretty complicated and more than I could ever describe in a comment. I would search other videos that do specifically that.
Any borders for these ? The way it ends looks meh
Hi Melody, I left the pattern open ended because I was mostly just showing the technique of the spiral to apply to a multitude of other projects, rather than a project in and of itself.
How would I increase this? I’m trying to make a rug with this pattern but it’s really hard to keep it flat 😅😅
Hi Ocean, you would continue with the same progression of 12 increases per row.
@@crochet.with.illjay after doing 1 1 2 we turn to 1 1 1 2 !!
I sure wish I could find the pattern for this. 😢
Why arent the 2 in one over top of each other ?
Did you miss a stitch?
how much grams of yarn did u use to make this ?
I’m not sure, not more than 50 probably for his size. Could be more or less depending on yarn or size of spiral.
How do I turn this into a a square
That is an entirely different pattern my friend. Try searching for a granny square spiral.
How's the rest of the rounds done ?
You continue with the same increasing pattern for as long as you want.
@@crochet.with.illjay the same increasing pattern being : 2 dc, 1dc, 1dc (repeat) ?
@@crochet.with.illjay so basically just add one double crochet between each set of two double crochets per round? I hope that made sense.
Ugh I have the one color but I'm still lost
Try to think of it as doing half a round in each color. Two color halves make a whole round.
Gracias!!! 🇦🇷
De nada!
Why does it have gaps ugh
What row are you getting gaps?
