UPDATE:
The DecimaExplorer_manual_extension.exe is integrated into DecimaExplorer.exe so you only need DecimaExplorer!
All I want is a join or die patch for sams backpack it would fit so well for the game
Finally, my CANNED WATER mod can be realized
Hey ! Did you released it ?
Fantastic tutorial! I'm really keen to get into Death Stranding modding but it appears it's still pretty early. This tutorial is really in-depth, I can't wait to try it out for myself and see what I can come up with. I can't believe we can get the 3d models too!! 😍. Are they boned correctly too so you can move their limbs? As that would be amazing
Yes the models tool will come out very soon
i have been trying to use the joker mod that you made but for the life of me i can't figure it out even tho i have been following the instructions to the T
dude thank you so much for this tutorial... I'm trying to make a simple mod that changes Sam`s hair color (just to try it out) and this is the only video helping me out. However, I just can't understand how to use the PS4 tool that you used to extract the original editable files... at 3:40 you said you already had them extracted, how did you do it?
Hey, you don't need the PS4 version extracted to do it, just take a look at the extracted files in ds/models/characters/sam_sam/core/sam_textures. the filename of CORE files are explicit like "sam_hair_naked_base.core", etc...
But if you want to extract the PS4 version, just take a look at the xentax link in the description and follow what I said about the unpacker python script (and obviously take a real focus look at the unpacker instructions!).
Very interesting stuff, and a pretty unique way of organising a game's data library. Seems like a tool on the level of OpenIV would probably be needed in order to make modding truly accessible, as this stuff is a bit too nuanced to really take off for the average player. Good work.
Hey, Thank you ;)
I don't think it's that difficult, like sure the first time it is but when you understand how it works...
The real issue now is to figure out other CORE files format but I don't think anybody will try to do it so only the most motivated guys will try other things than textures modding.
@@trikzme One question dude, and I think it's been asked before, but is it possible to take Sam's freelance Porter outfit and use that instead of the Bridges one? You know, the Porter suit from the very fist mission? It's absolutely something I'd be willing to pay for if someone could deliver on it
I don't know, if the porter suit is the same 3D model then you should be able to edit the textures or the "variation" files but I guess the variation file swap will cause a crash or black screen.
@@trikzme Is it a mod you could make, or would be interested in making? Trust me when I say it would be incredibly popular, especially if you can also make his framework backpack work, which seems to me like it would also only be a texture mod.
I don't try to do "famous" things, I just like to give the README guide to the ones who have creative ideas and let them make it real.
If you want to talk in private then add me on Discord:
TrikzMe#4359
But I can't promise you anything.
Thank you very much for the tutorial! I have few funny ideas of changing textures of drinks inside Private room. Do you know how to extract and change sounds? I have few funny ideas for sounds too.

@@trikzme Thank you for reply. This will come in handy
very nice!
thank you!
13:33 How exactly do you find out which bin file's the right one? Like that bine file's for I suppose Sam and a lot of other assets, but what about the other bin files and if I were to want to change something in those ones? Can you tell which is which or is the only way to actually know which assets belong to which bin file to only have a single bin file in the data folder and unpack each bin file one by one with Explorer, so you can manually sort through it.
Bin files for the ps4 version just extracted with their hash, not real file name, but the PC version have the correct filenames and then it'll be clear.
This bin file is called init.bin if I remember properly
@@trikzme Ah, alright. Actually, my question was regarding something else, but I figured it out. Cheers again.
Sorry if this is annoying, but can I use this method to change Sam’s suit color in the game? I hate that you can only change suit color at the end of the game.
Yes and no, the way textures works for the suites are a bit tricky if you don't know how 3D textures works but technically yes it works for every textures you want
Is there a way to use a `already made texture` for a game on pc and use it on ps4?
What tools are needed?
Thanks by the way, i can't find no tutorial of textures for ps4 and this is truly complete.
You can't mod the PS4 version...
PS4 PKGs haven encryption key and other stuffs so don't hope any modding even with a jailbroken PS4.
In addition, PS4 and PC files have differencies in some files structure so yeah, no consoles modding.
@@trikzme Hi, thanks for responding. I was thinking about transforming the files to the correct extension/type for the Ps4 if posible.
I have one more question if you don't mind.
Then the jailbreaking on the Ps4 is only to ad games without buying and to modify game save files only?
You should search for things by yourself before asking ^^
how to disable only the music sing (like all Low Roar music), not the other music, in DSDC?
IDK, I didn't work on audio files
@@trikzme I searched the database using Decima Explorer, but I didnt find anything that look like audio, Im asking for directions
The DS files system isn't really user friendly, you better try your luck with github.com/ShadelessFox/decima
@@trikzme ty so much, really 😀
hello do you know how to change Sam's ponytail with his normal hair??
waiting for it yet
thanks man nice tutorials but its difficult . Where have you learn this? Horizon zero dawn works also with core files i see.
Are you make more mods for Death stranding in the meantime?
Hey,
I don't know for now, lots is still not figured out and I'm not motivated much...
About how I know things, reading, testing and talking with Jayveer.
Le forum xentax étant fermé a tu as lien pour le tool xentax stp ?
Salut,
discord.gg/Gt4gkMwadB
thanks for good tutorial, do you have any idea for mod DS Localization file?
I think you are "YouKnow" from Discord.
TBH I don't even know what are you talking about "Localization file".
And DS modding is far from being "accessible" and I'm not even sure it'll be one day.
@@trikzme yes im youknow, by localization file i mean translate game to other language with edit exiting language, and for that we need to extract text string from core file
Oh, well if you use Jayveer's Decima explorer GUI tool, you can CTRL+F, search for "localiz" and you'll see tons of files from "localized\sentences\" and if you open thoses CORE files you'll see some strings and some webm files with the language like:
"localized/sentences/ds_lines_sam/lines_sam/sentences_sentence_00255a95-13a1-4e38-8366-98d80bdab99e.wem.english"
"localized/sentences/ds_lines_sam/lines_sam/sentences_sentence_00255a95-13a1-4e38-8366-98d80bdab99e.wem.french"
etc...
@@trikzme so you saying both game text and sound are in same core file?
its make unpack and repacking process a little hard
No I don't know for HZD, I'm not interested into this game.
But TBH if you think modding this game currently is too hard, wait and see if there is any "user friendly" tools coming sooner or later.
could you do a tutorial on how to use the ds tool?
Don't need to, the Xentax page have already all the infos.
I just suggest you to use the python unpacker and take your time to read all instructions.
@@trikzme i tried following it and i used the python unpacker but i didnt get any textures and i only got .ascii and .smd models, and if i import smd files it just shows 1 bone and not the actual skeleton can u pls make a tutorial on how to rip models and textures from ds pc
@@phoondos Hey I first had troubles making it work but if you read the description of the tool, you'll see you need to run the script at least two times with some python edits.
I don't plan to make a tuto on it honnestly but IDK, maybe one day.
Well, I finally took a bit of time: ua-cam.com/video/myKl1HmOBsc/v-deo.html
@@trikzme i just need a ps4 copy and i'll follow it thanks for making one
how do i go about switching the textures on the weapons. like for example i wanna make the non lethal assault rifle look like the assault rifles the homodemens use. How do i tell which assault rifle is what in the weapons folder?
ua-cam.com/video/myKl1HmOBsc/v-deo.html
Convert the weapons, check wich one is the one you want, and just edit the textures.
@@trikzme ok i couldnt just rename the files and replace them that way?
Just try ^^
hey can you make a tutorial on how to rip models from the PC version
As far as I know there is currently no tools to convert 3D models for the PC version.
@@trikzme I thought daemons tool worked with pc as well
all of the links are gone
Hey thanks for the report, yes UA-cam updated and broke all the links -__-.
But as I wrote tools names right before you could have found them very quickly.
Anyway it's updated.
