Unrivaled magnifies the deficits in Reese's game. The skills most needed to play 3 x 3 are not in her tool kit. She would have been better off spending the offseason working with a skills coach on basic ball handling, footwork, and finishing in the low post. I remember her saying after she ended her "W" season, after she miraculously made a 3-pointer, that we'd be seeing a lot more of that from her next year. Her thinking she was ready to become a distance shooter showed how little she understands what she needs to do to become an efficient big in the WNBA.
The coach did not do her homework. Lexie has a lot of 3x3 experience. She won a gold medal in FIBA 3x3 2023 America cup. In that final game, she was the second high scorer of her team. Just because she scored last season only spot up 3s does not mean that she is a poor 3x3 player.
Give it a chance maybe it was a package thing vs certain players. Lexi can be even more lethal if she can finish on the rim. But thats almost shouldn't be expected to the full since she can also do many other things.

I never dump on Reese but don’t ever given her the belief she will be remotely close to Collier’s ability. MV-Phee never disappoints. I’m a Clark fan all the way but Collier should have won league MVP. Reese is gritty but she’s offensively low IQ. She needs to stick to rebounding, defense and be happy with 10 points a game from lay ups. She could average 10 points, 15 rebounds, 2 steals. If she is 60% on her lay ups then that’s a valuable stat line in the W.

I've been watching basketball over 55 years, Angel Reese is the worst at making a layup women's or men's leagues. The refs don't even call half of the traveling calls on her.
This league really does magnify players’ strengths and weaknesses. Angel is great at what she does great, but she’s absolutely dismal at what she doesn’t do great. Dribbling, layups, passing, defending…not her strong suits. She’s also not in great shape so she looks tired. In juxtaposition, Lexie Hull has worked hard on her skills. 3v3 is in her bag. She showed it in this same game. Lexie will continue to float to the top of her team and Angel will continue to flounder. Her fans will continue to come up with every excuse in the book. Then they’ll compare her to great NBA players who have had a double dribble or who have missed a layup.
The coach is humbling her because she is not putting enough time into basketball, shes got too much other stuff going on and clearly not prioritising her game, to point where she has improved enough.
Not to make excuses, but I’m starting to believe Angel is bothered by that past injury more than she is admitting. This whole conversation about her poor footwork compelled me to watch past footage of her prior to her injury and it was like watching two different players as it pertains to her footwork. She never moved like Aja or AB as a big,but she at least appeared to move a lot better before that injury. I agree with Mick about everything she needs to work on to get better, but I think she needs to get with a sports medicine specialist along with an excellent development coach to help her figure out a strategy to maximize her efforts with that leg and other aspects of her game. It’s like when my chiropractor and podiatrist told me how everything gets thrown off as far as balance and coordination once you sustain a injury or have any medical issues with your feet,legs,back,hips,shoulders and neck. It will be interesting what the Chicago Sky will do after AR's contract expires. If she doesn't improve I can see them releasing her. I think a rookie contract is three years, so she has two more to get things fixed. I think if she is coached well in both the WNBA and Unrivaled she can be an okay player, but not just the superstar they claim her to be.

AR has a motor on the court. But off the court it’s been whispered she is lazy going back to her high school days. When she came into the league I had her coming off the bench as a 10@10 a night player. My opinion has not changed.
Reese has a motor in the paint. Anywhere else on the court she's only in first gear.

She has to take the open layups. The fact that she passed a layup even though she was ahead of everyone is sad--especially passing it back to a player behind her, when a defender was already around that same player.

Angel Reese is a lousy basketball player. She can't pass, dribble or even shoot a layup. Character counts when building a basketball team. Her presence in the locker room divides the team and her off court behavior is embarrassing. She has lived off of her natural talent until now but her unwillingness to train like a professional is starting to show. In simple terms she is lazy. Chicago should trade her if they can, otherwise release her and start building a real basketball team.

I never dump on Reese but don’t ever given her the belief she will be remotely close to Collier’s ability. MV-Phee never disappoints. I’m a Clark fan all the way but Collier should have won league MVP. Reese is gritty but she’s offensively low IQ. She needs to stick to rebounding, defense and be happy with 10 points a game from lay ups. She could average 10 points, 15 rebounds, 2 steals. If she is 60% on her lay ups then that’s a valuable stat line in the W.

I've been watching basketball over 55 years, Angel Reese is the worst at making a layup women's or men's leagues. The refs don't even call half of the traveling calls on her.
This league really does magnify players’ strengths and weaknesses. Angel is great at what she does great, but she’s absolutely dismal at what she doesn’t do great. Dribbling, layups, passing, defending…not her strong suits. She’s also not in great shape so she looks tired. In juxtaposition, Lexie Hull has worked hard on her skills. 3v3 is in her bag. She showed it in this same game. Lexie will continue to float to the top of her team and Angel will continue to flounder. Her fans will continue to come up with every excuse in the book. Then they’ll compare her to great NBA players who have had a double dribble or who have missed a layup.
The coach is humbling her because she is not putting enough time into basketball, shes got too much other stuff going on and clearly not prioritising her game, to point where she has improved enough.

Not to make excuses, but I’m starting to believe Angel is bothered by that past injury more than she is admitting. This whole conversation about her poor footwork compelled me to watch past footage of her prior to her injury and it was like watching two different players as it pertains to her footwork. She never moved like Aja or AB as a big,but she at least appeared to move a lot better before that injury. I agree with Mick about everything she needs to work on to get better, but I think she needs to get with a sports medicine specialist along with an excellent development coach to help her figure out a strategy to maximize her efforts with that leg and other aspects of her game. It’s like when my chiropractor and podiatrist told me how everything gets thrown off as far as balance and coordination once you sustain a injury or have any medical issues with your feet,legs,back,hips,shoulders and neck. Angel better figure something out before her extended 15min of fame is finally up because more talent is always on the way.🤔
It will be interesting what the Chicago Sky will do after AR's contract expires. If she doesn't improve I can see them releasing her. I think a rookie contract is three years, so she has two more to get things fixed. I think if she is coached well in both the WNBA and Unrivaled she can be an okay player, but not just the superstar they claim her to be.
